Please, saddle gurus: wide wither & spine ideas

I thought Voltaire could be ordered without the ugly stripes? I just looked at their website and don’t see any stripes.

I didn’t know that. I will say that one of the benefits (??hmmm) of all of the weird markings on saddles these days is that the Voltaire stripes are the least of it. (Talking to you, Devoucoux, who sent a saddle to me that was not only so dark it looked black but had teal welting and piping instead of the normal plain chestnut brown I’d requested…)

Yes, you can order without the stripes. However, they still come standard on both their English and western saddle lines.

Jumping back in with results: the Prestige Rubino is a lovely saddle and the horse and I both really like it after more than a month. Plenty of room in the spine and withers to keep the horse happy but a narrow twist and close feel for me. Thank god - it’s been a long summer!

My jumper has the worst back. Narrow at the top, and wide. To date, we’ve gone through an Antares, Voltaire, CWD, Butet, and Equippe. They all fit too tight in the shoulders and because they are all the same tree, no French saddle will fit him. So, I am looking at Stubben (wool flocked) and DK. Stubben may fit with some reflocking. DK fitter coming 10/20 and we’ll see. Such a pain.
