Thanks! I sure did know that. DH was enabling too but he’s not a horse person so I needed to open myself up for a reality check. You guys totally failed on that measure though!
So, thanks to the power of the internet, today I found her sire and her previous owner (prior to the seller), who started her under saddle. It sounds like she may not be as green as she feels right now, just rusty. I also found out that she had a foal in 2015! My new pony is a momma! The internet is amazing.
Now everyone needs a pony! So glad you got her (and I now have 5 ponies and looking for the 6th!!).
You look great on her, not too big at all. Enjoy! And thats a great cross. I have a welsh/tb 13.1h pony as well. He is amazing at CDE’s and would be awesome at x country as well, I just never really got into that…
Who was her sire?
Pardon me, I have to post a little brag about this adorable pony…
I took her to open schooling day at a local Mountain Trail Challenge course, and she was a superstar! There are several obstacles that move when the horse steps on them (a suspension bridge, a teeter totter, a bridge-like thing that slides back and forth on rollers, and a piece of plywood with holes in it that when stepped on sinks down and lets water come gushing up, quite surprisingly). Other horses were freaking out at some of these but the worst thing she did was startle in place when something surprising happened for the first time, then work through it. By the end she got so cocky she wanted to trot into some of the obstacles. She’s so cute!
Video here if anyone’s interested: https://youtu.be/9t_QRqnO4wI. Look how cute she is lowering her head to thoughtfully navigate the obstacles.
I would definitely recommend going to one of these open schooling days if you have the opportunity. It was a lot of fun!

:grief: Your YouTube link didn’t work for me
But that course sounds like so much fun!
Keep on enjoying your new toy :encouragement:
I second this.
I’m a total fan of hers, but I also can’t see the video!
Oops! I somehow had the video as private. Should be fixed now. Try again, I swear it’s worth another click! She’s so cute and the obstacles are pretty cool too.
What a good pony! Such a good brain… and showing all the cowponies how its done!
That text you posted back on page two sure made it sound like he was wondering where his pony was. Maybe a cute pony is a nice approachable way to change that “not a horse person” thing…
Please tell me I do not need a pony.
OK. You do not need a pony. You need two ponies. (At least. They travel in packs.)
OMG, I love that all those stock breeds are being all kinds of naughty in the background while your fiery TBX goes along all flat-footed and steady. What a great team you guys make!
You’re totally not going to sell that pony. You’re going to keep that pony.
I love her can-do, yes ma’am attitude while the quarter horses in the background are totally whiffing the obstacles.
And you don’t look one bit too tall/long for her. I live in ranching country and have been to lots of cutting events, where you see big ol’ guys on catty li’l 14-handers and nobody blinks. Doesn’t look odd at all. Our son’s Smart Little Lena grandson is 14 hands flat and I’ve got a Rocky Mountain mare who is 14.1. I’m 5’7", 170, and she takes up my leg great and we putter right along.
I watched the video. I’m in love with her.
Name your price.
Ponies are the bestest!
I watched the video too. Maybe you can give those other folks lessons.
OMG what an awesome pony! Love!
Where is this video?
Thanks guys!!! I passed all your compliments along to the pony and she says she knows she is awesome, thank you very much.
The only one I’ve posted is here: https://youtu.be/9t_QRqnO4wI. No jumping unfortunately. It’s a Mountain Trail schooling day where she showed all the cowponies how to walk across suspension bridges and teeter totters and balance beams.
Love this! I have taken my mustang to an obstacle challenge play day and while we only did it in hand (at the time she only had a handful of rides on her and I didn’t want to over face her), it was a BLAST. She actually showed up quite a few domestic bred QHS and Paints
