Ponies of the 80's and early 90's

I think Sarah (RegalTimes) will be home from college soon so she can probably confirm her whereabouts. She used to ride her.

I warned you, but did you listen? -Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Farnley Nasser was also owned by Renee Beradelli before she had Mermaid.

Bon Soir was owned by Julie Klein at one point.

No, I am not Whitney. I am Sara Yaffe’s sister. My family first bought Spumoni in 1992 and my sister showed him for about 3-4 years. My sister was training with Frank and Candie Owens at the time so when she found another large pony to ride, she sold Spumoni to the Owens family for Frankie and Whitney. She qualified Spumoni for Indoors during her second year of showing but we were to new to showing at the time to understand what Indoors was and that we should have gone. I think my sister is still kicking herself over that one!!!

I think Frankie Chesler had Buttons first. Oh, and the boys, Jimmy and John Pirtle, are Daryll’s nephews. Daryll has a daughter.

Duh- I only lived downthe street from TOp Brass for how long?
I stand corrected Chanda…

…Lindsay Portela has ridden some cute ponies of her own though

Pony Rock and Rodeogirl

I didn’t spend a whole lot of time in the ponies; stopped doing them at 13 (1993). Anyway, I had:
small- Ritzie
medium- Brownlands Curious (whom MKM should remember, I bought her from Catherine Winter)
-Debonaire
large- Bugle Boy

Sweet As Candy - Kirstin Stopper

just a few more random ones:
dresden
for kids sake
foxlair’s fascination
tickled pink

is the Magical Cloud ya’ll are talking about a large grey? If so, I rode him and so did Catherine Winter. I showed him like 3 times and I think the Winters owned him at the time, but i’m not positive. That was so long ago.

I think Missy Auchenbach had the grey Bugle Boy, who (cobwebs, cobwebs) was a medium.

With regard to bad ponies, there were a couple in Zone 2. Paragon apparently was a frightful thing as a young one, and there was a large children’s pony, Penny Whistle, who was mostly good… except when he dropped his shoulder, spun, and bucked, usually throwing his rider into the ring fence or wall. No one stayed on that pony when he pulled that move.

Can anyone name Penny Whistle’s owner/rider, and her successful medium pony and large junior hunter? This should be easy for Zone 2 people who were juniors in the early- to mid-90s.

who’s Bit O Honey?
Shannon Jones had a Bit O Honey at Brownland a long time ago.

Farnley Tribute - Courtney Wolf??

quote:
Buttons & Bows- help- Lisa Bugni?

Lisa was a good friend of mine growing up, but no, she didn’t ride Buttons & Bows. She trained with Trudy and had some other fancy ponies - Farnley Clark Gable (formerly Farnley Sparrow), and Heart to Beat, a cute gray small who went on the be champion at one of the indoors shows with her new owner.

Does anyone remember Sage (a grey small, I believe related to Thyme)? She was at my barn for a long long time and carried a couple of really cute little kids in braids to short stirrup championships, well into her 20s.
