I don’t know who rode him or had him originally but he was at Holly Chesters (I know she had him a long time) until his recent death.
I could never forget the Hobbit… but… wasn’t he one of the ones that went through that horrible scene at Washington in 1989 or 1990 when they decided to “clean up” the measurements in pony divisions?
He was one of the true greats!
Paragon
She’s Got Dots
Highfields Fancy Footnote
Glenmore Fun Enough

Elizabeth Solter rode Smart Cookie and C’est Moi.
Who originally rode the medium pony Linus?
I was there watching Washington the day that happened. It was a horrible day.
Some ponies moved up though and kept winning. I still think they should have grandfathered in all ponies to that date and started fresh the next year… maybe that wouldn’t have seemed fair but it was so sad to watch those kids go through that.
Then again, Glenmore’s Best Shot did much better as a large than a medium… good for some I guess
FARNLEY COLORADO
We bought him from Lisa Hammond for Jessica (Ehrlich) as her first pony. She showed him at Wash International when she was only 6 1/2 y.o.
Most honest packer I’ve ever seen. Can’t say enough good about him. He was retired to Edna Lytle’s after us.
NUMBER ONE FROG was found and started by trainer Georgeanne Powers and shown by her daughter Ann Louise, who is now a professional with her Mom in the St.Pete area (Pinellas Park).
SCOTT HOFFSTETTER got his start and was trained by Georgeanne for several years as a junior.
Ashley Gerl actually rode with Jane Fenessy for her wins at Devon and Washington, and then left to ride with Trudy following losing the hack-off with Gucci at WIHS.
Wonder, I saw this and freaked out…this little game is right up my alley, LOL. I love old school trivia! Although I should be using this time to remember pysch terms, not the riders of ponies from long ago, LOL
And,oh, it was Emily WYRICK who had Buttons, not Williams Any know who Em Williams small was? And then who bought it after?
Yep, I remember almost all of Catherine’s ponies. I owned my own pony and showed him locally, but travelled with Brownland some and the Winter’s some b/c I rode a lot of their ponies
MIDGE-
you might not have seen this in the earlier post, but do you have any idea where Catherine Winter is? She bought my eventer as a jumper, sold him to Ann Crain a year later, and I haven’t heard from her since. I have a feeling they moved back to France b/c they sold their awesome facility in Franklin to some QH people.
Even Gamble - Janice Lee Bledsoe
I don’t know who owned or showed her in her hey-day, but I had the pleasure of watching her carry around 3 different little girls in her later years. She happened to show up at 2 different barns where I boarded in the early to mid 1990’s (I lived in Florida). She was already ancient at that point, but she carted around her cute little owners in walk trot and short stirrup. So adorable.
Unfortunately, I believe she passed away a few years ago. She was in her late 20’s.
Ann
yes on Bon Soir
Marley also had Galen Mica

-Debonaire
large- Bugle Boy

Anyone remember Liseter Friendship? Chestnut Large Pony - very flashy
It is on route 40 and called The Tack Shack.
Polaris Starship - Ryan Roy from Ontario I think…

That’s it! I knew it was an Emily W.
There was Christie’s Bugle Boy. He did the whole Welsh circuit with Christie Ann Feoli a few years ago. I think he was a dapple grey small?

Stars and Stripes
