Anyone remember the two best friends who were champion in the larges and mediums, and grand pony champion, and then tied for best child rider at WIHS? What two girls and what ponies?
If I remember right, Jonathan Phillips had Sligo Frank too, but that was quite a few years ago. I also think that Shannon Homola had him either before or after Jonathan.
13 days until graduation!!
… and missed this thread AND the Osbournes.
Anyway, in my day it was Lisa Hammond who had C’est Moi and Smart Cookie.
Anyone remember Carouselombra? Large green year was 1984.

Hunter44,
The Yutani’s were the best. Both showed my Glenmore pony and rode with us in Fla. when we lived in Ocala. Does Tommi still ride?

Erin Lindsay rode Cloudy Crystal!

You beat me to it! “Sailor” was Erin’s pony. She had him in IN for several years and then took him out to California with her when her family moved. He was another pony I was desperately in love with…of course, so were all of Erin’s ponies. She had the fancy ponies at the barn, I wanted to BE her when I was a little girl.
Ooh, what fun! I don’t remember too many…
Llandfalle Lady Slipper - Lindsey Phoebus
Glenmore’s Best Shot - Keri Kampsen
Brownland’s Third Light - Hillary Schluschmeyer (I know I’m butchering the spelling…)
I remember all of the other ponies but I’m drawing a blank on the riders.

Does anyone know more about Magical Cloud? I knew he did well, but didn’t think he was really that well known. I was never a “big hunter rider” but it is how I got my start before I moved to eventing.
Catherine Winter had a grey named Magical Cloud that I rode for her a bunch at home when she was not wanting to ride, or having trouble with him, I and showed him some. Is this the same pony? I never would have thought that I rode a pony that the likes of Alison Firestone and Paige Johnson rode also, except possibly some of the Brownland ponies I rode, and that only b/c Brownland was down the street and I was the “tough kid” that they put on the greenies, buckers, etc.

Yes, Rudy is now very happily retired at the Willard’s farm, although he has made a couple of appearances in the leadline and walk-trot division at Sedgefield.
