Poodle breeder recommendations?!

A breeder friend actually has a cream female that’s about 8mo old. She held onto both girls as show prospects and decided she likes the other one better for the show ring. She’s in Indiana though.

Very interested, can I have her contact info?! I want to call on this ASAP… this sounds kind of ideal. Mini?

I know someone who buys std’s from Bar-None bloodlines and they are extremely aggressive, they all seem to have temperment problems plus IBS and one got bloat.
I met a dog from Brighton kennel in West Palm - wonderful temperment - calm, intelligent, no health problems at all - she said they breed for termperment and health. This was a white std.
Every miniature poodle that I have met has been very nice - sweet, intelligent and healthy.

Sophie on here has a lovely, light colored, standard poodle from a breeder (after her show career). She is located in Maine, so maybe PM her to see where she picked up her poodle?

Not sure if you can see this, but here is her poodle. https://scontent-dfw1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpa1/v/t1.0-9/12308701_985136044890989_8928455695452478214_n.jpg?oh=63101fda5b540a756a087e01ccc9464f&oe=5718CD33[/QUOTE]

Thanks RR
OP I actually got her from a goldendoodle breeder, but she was bred in CT somewhere. I don’t have her papers as she is still not fully mine, needs to have one more litter.
She is a GREAT dog - good with our cat, good with the whole family, doesn’t bark much, is very easy going, is easy to train (still working on basic commands - chasing squirrels is sometimes more important to her than obeying the " COME!" command

My first Std poodle totally sold me on the breed. Until then I was more of a mutt from the SPCA type of person, but this dog was a gem, and I still miss her badly at times, but this current Std is a very, very nice dog.

Bumping in the hopes that candysgirl comes back!

My sister just came across a breeder in Flemington with a 5 month old red standard girl. She has had all her shots, is housebroken, and is said to be very laid back. We are looking for my mother but 5 months is just too young for an 85 year old.

If you are interested I’ll get the # from my sister.

OP, the breeder of my new miniature poodle puppy has just posted a 10 month old silver female puppy on his page. She is too big to show, so they are offering her to a pet home. She is housebroken, has had all of her shots and she will be spayed before she goes to her new owners.

If she is anything like our fine boy, she will be amazing. Blackie is only 11 weeks old and he already sits when asked, has learned to take his good boy/good job treat politely, and he is mostly reliable re his house training.

Aery Poodles is in the Asheville, NC area in a town called Fairview.

A puppy that has already had all her sh*#$ is the one that I want!

Slightly off topic but I have two black female standards from Krista Fields in Indianapolis and can’t recommend her enough for anyone who is looking. Www.azelstandardpoodles.com

Guys thank you for the continued help. Aside from the one in PA, not a single breeder of the 6 I’ve contacted after doing a lot of research has called/emailed me back. Very frustrating. So… still on the hunt.

P.S.- Liz my mom is pretty settled now on either mini or very undersized/small standard rather than full standard size. I am not sure if the dog you know of is large/small for a standard. This is a “move up” dog from a toy so, you know, she needs the pre-adult size  not the 3’0 dog

Thank you! I’ve already spoken to Richard and we’re making arrangements. This might be it. And she is JUST what we’ve been looking for this whole time!!!

HOORAY!!! Welcome home to Dolly!

PS I think I will be her Aunt. Ha, ha.

I am so excited! She is exactly, exactly what we’ve been looking for this entire time and Richard couldn’t have been any better to deal with. After calling/emailing to radio silence for weeks-- in literally 1/2 an hour the deal was signed, sealed, delivered and plans made. My parents are flying to NC and then driving back with her. Sometime this spring they will make a trip to my neck of the woods and me (and my dog) will get to meet her. I have been SO HAPPY ALL DAY, it’s like I am getting a dog. Thank you SCM, thank you!!!

Since I have officially made myself Dolly’s Aunt (it was on COTH, so it has to be true, right?), I will need to see photos of Dolly with her new family.

I am so excited for you!

Absolutely!

I highly recommend www.fairhillfarm.com, people have driven from Alaska to Nova Scotia for her poodles. The website is well designed and the breeder has been doing this for over 25 years.
