I secound Dr Keane. We use him for every PPE in our barn and all our check-ups prior to WEF.

The other “all bells and whistles” option is to have the horse trailered to New Bolton.

If Dr. Keane is unavailable or happens to be the seller’s vet, you might check and see whether Green Glen Equine covers that area at all (it may be further east than they go) – I used Dr. Wisner at Green Glen for a PPE and was very pleased with him. Thorough and very easy to deal with, which was important since it was long distance and I couldn’t be there.

I 3rd if not 100th Dr. Keane. One of the best in the country lucky to have him in my back yard. High end buyers fly him in and or over the pond to do PPE.

He is an Event rider also. I have worked with a lot of vets over the years. Plenty of good ones. But nothing better than a good one that rides also. They’ve done the walk and paid the bills.

Kevin is also a joy to work with.

At New Bolton I use Dr. Elizabeth Davidson, she is a H/J rider also.

I will look into Dr Keane…don’t have any experience with him…other options that come to mind are Unionville Equine- Patti Blakeslee/Chris Foster/Mark Donaldson (have used all of those vets over the years -so I know them and am familiar with them) Peter Blauner was also recommended as was Stacy Kent …

Dr. Blauner is a great vet. I have nothing negative to say about him. The others I have no experience with. There’s no vet I know who can hold a candle to Dr. Keane. He’s pretty incredible. He was a team vet, which says a lot to me, and he’s actually a rider himself at a pretty high level.

IMO and paying experience Unionville Equine doesn’t hold a candle to Dr Keane or Dr. Davidson.

I use Green Glen and I love them. I use Dr Karl for chiro and she is great. I have used Dr Wisner for other things and he is awesome to work with as well, the practice very thorough and honest.

I can tell you Dr Keane has most likely left for Aiken as of yesterday…and I will also say when he is unavailable or has a conflict of interest he refers PPE’ s on a lot of his well known UL clients horses to Dr Carolyn Littel…she is thorough professional excellant clinician rides and is lovely to work with. She works out of the same facility as KK. 610-761-9002

OP…I do believe the Unionville Equine is or was your Vet…

Dr. Keane comes highly recommended both on this board and from friends of mine who have used him.

Dr. Foster is my vet and has done the PPE on many horses in our barn. I highly recommend her and trust her opinion. Dr. Blauner also has an excellent reputation.

Dr. Keane was more expensive than Dr. Foster the last time I priced him out about 4 years ago. I also agree that he is likely in Aiken now.

Yes they UEA have been my vet for many years!, and I love them …looking for other possible options as they might be a conflict of interest, and availability

Stacey Kent is a wonderful vet and I have found her to be thorough and practical for PPE

Peter Blauner

Another endorsement of Green Glen (agree a bit East for them). But they are awesome, especially Dr. Wisner

Dr. Blauner is wonderful.

I used Peter Blauner for a ppe years ago and was very happy. He’s also an eventer.
More recently Mark Donaldson, also a very good experience, but sounds like that practice is already your vet.
