Thanks. It’s not the first time I’ve had it wrong.
This is the only time I’ve felt even a little bit sorry for Baffert.
At least I had the right horse.
I’m feeling Blazing Sevens for the win. No particular reason.
OK…Perform. Last minute choice after post parade.
What a duel at the end!! Glad I didn’t end up putting money down or I would have been sad
Now that was a stretch duel…JVs first Preakness win, BBs 8th…and well fought and deserved. BBs actually in tears.
Well that sucked. I really wished BB would fade into obscurity.
Me too me too me too
Happy for John Velazquez though.
Why does this horses effort in winning and JVs ride suck?
There’s a LOT of contempt for Baffert. That’s why.
It doesn’t. The horse is a trier. Remarkably slow time apparently, but he was the best on the day.
I’ll never have ill will for the horse but I will never respect the owners and I certainly despise BB
Didn’t want Baffert to win
Soooo much chest hair on parade…not my jam
Notice how BB couldn’t name him? “That horse” … twice!!?
Great stretch duel. I thought National Treasure had it when he got nearly 49 seconds for the first half mile, but then Blazing Sevens came up and made him work for it. I love seeing a horse fight back when somebody passes.
I also despise that frat-boy Kumin/Starlight ownership combo. Though Kumin is sort of redeeming himself in that he seems to have developed an actual interest in the horses themselves, rather than a rich-bro status symbol. He’s breeding some mares these days.
Jack Wolf (Starlight) has always rubbed me the wrong way. I might be way off here, he may be a great guy, but I found him annoying when he owned Ashado.
Tomorrow’s headlines in the national press will just feature that horrible picture of the poor horse that broke down with the same trainer as the winner. Worst possible PR for this sport (and yes, I’m a racing fan, although I strongly prefer many other trainers.)
