I’m pulling for Maximum Security but I hope his trainer will put ear plugs in his ears so the roar of the crowd will not bother him. That’s what his jockey said caused him to shy in the Derby. I think it will be an exciting race and I can’t wait!
Well, Maximum Security is not starting in the Preakness, so . . .
I’ll take WoW, Improbable , or Alwaysmining. Can’t decide.
One way to make a safe pick, one that’s not running
Me? Alwaysmining and Bodexpress. Can I say why? Not really… Bodexpress impressed me in the Derby and I like the new face with Alwaysmining.
LOL! I can always count on this board to set me straight. Thank you! To me it was cruel what happened to WoW.
I don’t know whose fault it was but he seemed to make his move where there was not space to race and then he fell back. Will this make him more determined to win or less? We’ll know this afternoon.
I like Improbable so I’ll stick with him. I really like Mike Smith. I thought he rode Justify perfectly to the Triple Crown last year. Don’t mess with success!
Don’t overlook Anothertwistafate. So far Blaine Wright has made all the right moves with this one and this is his Derby.
Hot and sticky here; hoping for a fast track
My money is on Failed Plumbing.
I’ll take War of Will, Alwaysmining, and Owendale for a longer shot.
Again??
I like War of Will.
Warriors Charge is owned by a group of mostly Memphis/Mid South people. They paid $150,000 to start because the horse wasn’t nominated when the price was much cheaper. I’m hoping they do well. He’s going off at 10-1
I just watched the 8th in which the third-place runner was a horse with one of the most appropriate names I have ever seen for a horse of any breed, in any line of work. Dirtyfoot. I didn’t actually get a look at his feet, but he has a darling cute colt face.
Today I am just going to sit back and watch the Preakness. No favorites.
Congratulations to Jerry Bailey and son!
Hmm, I was hoping Long Range Toddy would run. So I guess I’m on the WoW bandwagon too.
weather now threatening to rain around 5. :nonchalance:
Taking a break because I simply can’t stand them going over and over and over the Derby. Let it go, wontcha? Also, my idea of a thrill is definitely not watching a bunch of drunk people cavorting in the infield. Can still remember that jerk that wandered onto the track during a race a long time ago. Was it the actual Preakness or was it one of the other races? I must admit that I am mildly amused at watching their “handicapper” wager $100 to win on a series of horses that disappear into the field and are never heard of again. Hope he keeps his day job…
I’d like to see WoW vindicated. His owner’s daughter is eventing this weekend somewhere.
What was ‘cruel’ about what happened? A horse drifted out in front of him and he had to check up and almost went down. Where’s the cruelty? Horses do this to each other playing out in pasture sometimes. It wasn’t like Saez did the drift on purpose IMO.
I’m with you there. Then they started on the death of the filly after her race and on and on, all about controversy.
It was one of the earlier races - maybe the Pimlico Special? He took a swing at Artax while the entire field was coming down the stretch.
I’m rooting for War of Will today. I feel like Karma owes him a clean trip after the Derby drama, and I think the slightly shorter distance will be better suited for his running style.
Oh christmas tree, oh christmas tree…
I’m watching to see if I know anyone. :congratulatory:
I’m glad I’m not the only one who has that thought…every. single. year…
