Ugh to the the hip pain. Mine is only still apparent when I lie down. But still. Ugh. I feel for you.

I “sleep” in about one hour increments. Thats how long I can lay on one side before the searing hip pain sets in and I have to flip over. And rolling over is painful so I wake up. And then realize I have to pee. So then I have to actually get up. Rinse and Repeat. As I sit here typing, my eyelids are so heavy. I’m not physically tired, per say… but certainly sleepy.
Ditto. Just 100% ditto lol my left hip goes numb when I lay on it sometimes, my right hip just hurts…bone aching, laying on concrete type of hurts. And then for some reason about 10-12pm is her favorite time ever and she moves around like crazy…seriously, I think she may be trying to push her way out through my belly button!

Daycare is up in the air right now for us  we’re on a waiting list for a place I really like and still having the MIL Watching Baby drama (she has apparently quit smoking…so that’s a plus) buuuuuuut, with me job hunting on my “maternity leave” it’ll kind of depend on what type of job I find as to what we decide to do. It’s a little more expensive that I thought it would be here, but not over the $1000 mark. Most places run $150-$200 a week.
Did find out something really cool-the YWCA offers daycare for $15/day here. They don’t take newborns…but still, cheaper option for later, and most the parents I’ve talked to have wonderful things to say about ours…so maybe?

The YWCA sounds good, just be careful on how they deal with the drop in situation. If they have a worker sick or more kids than usual show up, you can be left without care for the day under a drop in policy. There’s benefits to that if you have a reliable back up and want pay-as-go kind of service.

When you’re paying for a spot all month, there’s usually some kind of guarantee (barring acts of God) they have temp help or a back up facility.

This is basically what i am dealing with, except the pain will last throughout the day some times, and I am dealing with the added joys of sciatic issues due to a car accident last year (i was rear-ended by someone in a full sized pickup going like, 45mph while i was stopped, in my tiny car!)
PT said that we could do stretches and some minor exercises, and she did some therapeutic massage, but that the real work would come after the baby was born. she hit some real tender areas on my hips today, so i am hoping that helps with the sleep!

Hello all from the other side! Sean Matthew arrived at 5:34AM on 9/1/15, he weighed 6lbs 4 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. Vaginal birth, induced. Started labor pains the Saturday before (they didn’t feel like I thought they would, mine were back pain and shooting down my upper, inner thigh. Sunday we took it easy and I had my weekly appointment at 9 Monday. By that point I was 3 cm dilated and my blood pressure had spiked…Sean came 12 days early and is a teeny but adorable baby. Lots more to share but my husband is home and willing to watch the baby so I’m going to take a hot shower while I can! Then it’s off to pump. Ah yes, the glamorous life of a mom…

 Whoot Whoot! Congrats. I’m glad all went well. Keep us posted on little Sean.

I’ll jump in and say hello to all the new mommies and moms to be! I had my son back in February. Rode and showed up until 29 weeks, and he has the horse bug, loves going to the barn and even sat up on my mare last week. I can’t wait until we can do lead line classes lol!

Proof that I got on a horse at 38 weeks pregnant:

Yes, it happened.

No signs of any movement for Blake to arrive, he’s happy as a clam practicing his soccer moves inside.

Congrats Heineken! Happy to hear everything went smoothly and you’re both healthy!

Nickelodian - you are a champ! I love it!

darn - double posted

Yay Heineken!!! Welcome to Sean Matthew!!

Nick-you’re my hero…seriously, I have a hard time just putting on pants! You rock!

Congrats Heineken!

Nick, I’m so impressed. I lay in bed at night and fantasize about riding.

I lay in bed at night and fantasize about riding.
I lay in bed and cry about how uncomfortable I am. And then I have to make myself stop crying because that just makes me feel physically worse.

Especially since I now apparently have a stomach bug.

On the plus side, I did spend Sunday morning at a horse show looking after a friend’s 9 month old so she could show. I joked with folks that I caught on “foal heat” since I did get a few raised eyebrows at me pushing a stroller with an infant and being about ready to pop. The show coordinator came up to me personally and said they had medical personnel on the grounds and to not hesitate to let them know if I needed anything.

I really miss riding. But not too much longer now…

Congrats Heineken!

Congrats Heineken! Keep us posted on your learnings as a new mommy!

Nick - you are so close! I am super excited for you! My due date (Jan 12) feels like an eternity away.

At 23 weeks I pee 3 times a night and wake up uncomfortable a lot and have to wrestle the snoogle. Energy is super low (some days a lot worse than others) but otherwise I am myself. I just made my “birth plan” - so many decisions! and I am sure once it all starts happening the plan will go out the window.

My mare is sound again and in training 2x week - I “ride her” vicariously from the ground by watching her training sessions  2 other days I lunge her in the pessoa. Fingers crossed she stays sound with this regimen of insanely expensive shoeing and occasional coffin joint injections and is ready for me in 2016!

Congratulations Heineken!

I went to a driving clinic two weeks ago, all very broke driving horses. It was really fun, although I had some trouble crawling up into the tallest cart. Decided to send my young mare to a driving trainer next month, and just bought her training harness for that. Not riding, but lessons for me nonetheless!

Oh hey just saw Heineken’s post…congrats!!!

For some reason although I’m due in 2 weeks, it seems like I will simply be pregnant for the rest of my life. Or something.

Congrats Heineken!! Hang in there Dreaming, ilmjumper and Nick! It will come soon (says the comfy preggo at 16 weeks…I’m sure when I get as far as you I will be very impatient, too!!)

I’m feeling great right now, back riding regularly, trying to enjoy it while it lasts because I know it won’t!!! I had a couple weeks where the peeing was so frequent that I couldn’t even get through a ride without a pee break, but luckily baby seems to be off my bladder (for) now, so I’m only going a bit more than usual rather than double the usual! Belly is starting to grow- I’m loving my bella bands and starting to outgrow my shirts, but not feeling big enough for real ‘maternity’ clothes, so it’s interesting right now. May go shopping for a few things this weekend.

Especially when you start getting excited because you’re having pains and the baby finally dropped, only to go to your dr’s appt and have her tell you mmm, nope. Not dilated at all. Maybe next week.

It does end right?

Having not been through this before, I can’t make any personal promises. I have had regular contractions for…2? months. Hey those are just practice! W. T. F.

It does end. No event in my life thus far has crawled past quite so slowly as the last two weeks of pregnancy.
