Anyone else choose not to ride ?
I also use a ridiculous number of wipes. For everything. Face cleaning, hand cleaning, soother cleaning, surface cleaning. As soon as the Kirkland packs are half empty, they go into the diaper bag (save on the weight and space, the new packs are BIG.)
I have just hit the point of āI want it over nowā¦ā whininess. 7-8 weeks to go. This coincides with the point where I become unable to tell if I am hungry or full.
Hah I do the same thing re: half empty Kirkland wipes into he diaper bag
Small change: if for any reason you want to try the Kirkland wipes let me know. I think we are semi close and weāll be attending the Royal this year as well. I can bring you a pack to try

Anyone else choose not to ride ?
During the first pregnancy I chose not to ride my show horse. I would only ride my old guy, then a super-trustworthy horse my coach had for lessons. I even had the old guy out showing over teeny fences into my fourth month. I stopped around six months, it was killing my back.
Second pregnancy I rode the show horse, but only until the fourth month. I was just done after that point. I didnāt have much time between pregnancies, but they have both been fairly easy. All kinds of things could have gone differently and I would have chosen to ride less or not at all.

Thatās really kind of you! Even if I donāt end up taking you up on the offer, please know it is very much appreciated!
Hi ladies! Just checking back in, as Iām now 37 weeks. Iām seriously uncomfortable and exhausted, but at least I start phasing out of my role at work after the end of this month. The nursery is mostly complete, but I have a fair number of thank you cards still to write this weekend!

oh no problem at all! And please do let me know if youāll be visiting the Royal! Iād love to hang out with our babes even without the wipes
I sold my show horse early last year (kind of unexpectedly) and the horse I was riding/showing when I got pregnant is in rehab. So, naturally, in a fit of hormones, boredom, and the desire to retain some autonomy after this baby comes, I have started shopping seriously for green horses.
I think I may have lost it. But I just want to have something waiting for me when spring rolls around, and want to buy soon so I canāt make excuses not to ride. Am I nuts?
Lol, probably about as nuts as my ongoing plan, putting my unbroke six year old with a driving trainer all winter with the intent of driving her in the springā¦
Depending on how your pregnancy and delivery goes, you might be ready to jump on a greenie two weeks out. I took a little while to even regain the desire to ride, and I had some confidence/fitness related obstacles to work on. You could also line up a lease for spring, which is nearly as fun as shopping, but reducing the potential risk of starting a horse up.

Get a pony! Get a pony!!
Did you try the Kirkland brand diapers?
No, after our incident with Huggies brand, we decided not to risk changing anything else. We have become blindly loyal to Pampers Cruisers. Lol.
We go to Costco only for dog and barn cat food, and added wipes to the list. We have to go to Superstore for housecat and baby food, and they have decent sale prices on Pampers.
Regarding riding, I recently decided not to resume riding after a couple of weeks off, and Iām still very early (although next week is 11!). Nothing bad happened, and my horse is very trust worthy. In fact, I have been really enjoying riding her. However, I made the decision because I didnāt want to end up always questioning my decision to ride. Maybe if weāre lucky enough to have a second child one day, it will be different, but we struggled for too long for this pregnancy. However, I did decide to resume runningā¦well, jogging at this rate, and Iām happy to keep being active in some way.
Itās definitely different for everyone.

I am finally feeling the baby kick on a more regular basis. I think it is amazing⦠Lets see when I get further along and baby is stronger how I feel about it :D.
Hubby and I are having fun with names⦠We both finally agree on a name, lets see if it sticks.

Will report back!
Anyone back at work? How are you career moms handling horses, work, and babe? I see my horse only once a week right now. Babe will be going to childcare next May and Iām getting dirty looks from my friends about not wanting to stay at home when my mat leave is up. Sometimes I wish I didnāt have the mat leave benefits of Canada!
Iām enjoying paid maternity leave in the form of unemployment after being let go for being pregnant so, no, not working, just job searching⦠Absolutely hating the idea of going back to work though, lately Iāve been wondering if I could make enough on etsy and custom orders to just work from home.

Ugh, so it did happen then. Iām sorry. But Iād be really interested in how it all goes down if you donāt mind sharing at some point. Feel free to message me.
I go back to work in 2 weeks and honestly I donāt know how Iām going to do it. As it is, I look at the clock some days and itās 3pm and Iām still in my pjs, havenāt showered, or gotten much of anything else done besides taking care of baby. Luckily I work from home with very flexible hours, because I canāt imagine having to get up, feed, pump, get myself (and baby!) ready, drop off at daycare and be in the office by 8. I mean, Iāve only been a mom for 4 weeks⦠I do not have this figured out yet.
And to top it off, one of our canine kids is super sick. And my mare is still lame.

I didnāt want to be second guessing either. Combined with the fact that the horses live at home and I ride by myself when no one else is home. Not exactly safe if something weāre to happen. My horse kids are very confused !

wow you are a super mom! I donāt go back to the office til LO is a year. At 5 months (now) I think I could totally do it. at 6 weeks, forget it. Week 5 was the WORST for my LO growth spurts. OMG if she was awake she was cryingā¦make the WAILING. Thankfully it gave way to a happy baby who was sleeping through the night by 6 weeks.
