Professional competing as amateur

Zevida, the USDF show season is October 1 - September 30 (USEF is Dec 1 - Nov 30). So a YR who turns 22 any time in the calendar year IS aging out mid-showseason, and would have to switch divisions mid-season, either going ammy or open starting Jan 1.

It confuses a lot of YRs who are going for regionals. From October to December, they show/qualify YR, but in the spring they have to show Ammy or Open. If showing Ammy, they are fine, because the qualifying score needed is the same as for YR, so their previous scores count. If declaring Open, they have to start over (unless their scores were already high enough for the Open division).

I agree with you, if she had said 22. However, the other poster said the year in which the rider turned 21. And during that year, she can show YR the whole year.

Perhaps the other poster just misspoke about the age and meant to say 22.
