That clip just literally made my jaw drop. It’s one thing to make comments like that in private company, and a whole 'nother ballgame to unload like that on a video meant to promote your product (him). Just really poor judgment IMO.

My friend got two free tickets to the Tour, so we went. A lot of good tidbits, but mostly not. Very derogatory to people, very domineering to the horses. At the “Show stopper Ending”, his horses did liberty stuff - heads bowed and eyes dead. I cried then and couldn’t believe the cheering and clapping. My God people, have some pity for the poor defeated horses.
Its clearly not about the horsewith him… Buck Brannaman is.

Sadly, I don’t think his persona is new. He has always been like this and now for some reason has decided not to hide it. Maybe he is realizing there is a limit to his market and he will soon reach that limit.

Exactly… He just seems to be tired of pretending. If you’ve followed this post you’ve seen his track record over the last +year. Its good that people are finally seeing his true colors. Especially the women he makes fun of in that video… And the crowd his gimmicks are marketed to.

That is probably true. I have never been a fan.
I myself was most gobsmacked by his utterly casual use of a metaphor referencing “ass-raping.” This guy clearly has some issues.

How many dads beat up their teenage sons on a regular basis. CA makes the statement that every once in a while a dad will need to thump on his son for about 10 seconds to “get the respect back”. Geezus. 
I’ve never liked him, he always pushed the horses way too fast in his training shows I saw on RFD-TV. No finesse or kindness.
The first time I heard anything about his training methods was when a client came back from a clinic.
She was going on and on about how Clinton told them that horses wouldn’t run into each other so don’t worry about hitting another rider…
Ok then…
Self-appointed “gurus” like this guy and Parelli are very good at selling their schtick to people who really know little to nothing about horses but “want to believe.” People who know what they’re looking at are appalled and disgusted.
There are many wonderful, qualified, very pleasant places in most parts of the country where one can take riding lessons locally. Folks would be well-advised to spend their money in those places instead of these “gurus’” traveling circus shows.
Vote with your checkbook–don’t buy the books and DVD’s. Don’t attend trade fairs that sponsor these acts. Tell the organizers WHY . . .

After all this time finally someone just comes right out and says what an abusive bastard this guy really is. I complained to RFD-TV many years ago when they first put him on their station. That poor mare of his Mandy—Mindy—good God could he never give her a break and talk about abrupt with a horse. And if they didn’t give him what he wanted in a split second he started whacking on them so I am absolutely loving this thread. CA is an ass from the word go and should have been removed from RFD-TV long, long ago along with Linda Parelli after she whacked several horses in the head so they could be ridden with two sticks. WTH?

Maybe if we had more adult pony clubs, 4H for adult beginning/returning riders or instructors who taught “horsemanship” not just riding, these guys wouldn’t have such an opportunity to cash in…
All horse training is “SOMEONE ELSE’S OPINION”…No matter who, from Xenophon on down. Some have more experience and larger tool boxes but they teach what has personally worked for them…they ALL eventually come across a horse who doesn’t fit the program. JMHO
I went to the KY Walkabout tour a few years ago and agree with everything in the first post.
Regretfully a friend who went to the same session still likes him and is taking her horse to one of his clinics this summer. I feel bad for him.
I think this guy is a horse’s ass capitalizing on Americans’ love for the Crocodile Hunter and his accent. I called his HQ in Sterling some years ago because I had a real problem going on with one horse. I wanted a trainer, not a clinic and certainly not lessons. They told me over and over about how this is a “process”, trying to talk me into lessons. Uh no, I have one specific problem that I want to pay a TRAINER to address. Their response? It would cost me $3000 for an hour. THREE THOUSAND FOR ONE HOUR! The problem WOULD NOT be cured in an hour! But they were still going to assign it that way!
I said yeah, I’ll put a bullet in this horse’s brain before you’ll gyp me out of $3K and I hung up on them. I haven’t given them or him any more minites of my life since then. What still bugs me though is that SOMEONE has to have ponied up money like that for them to think that they could get that.
