PSA: Parlanti-esque TuffRider Sport Dress boots on sale at Dover for $99

I have seen these boots in person and they look very nice - they are definitely the “leather sock” look with soft, thin leather so I’m not sure how they’d hold up to everyday riding but if they were tall enough for me at this price point I would at least snap up a pair for back up show boots. Or they’d be great for someone who wants to dip a toe into the dress boots trend without fully committing…

They’re displaying as $199 if you search the Dover site so make sure to use this link I grabbed from Facebook to unlock the $99 sale price.

The sale expires at midnight tonight.

Can I wear these in higher end schooling shows/C rated? In Baby Green Hunter type classes? Do I need a “field boot” version?

PS- I tried these on when a vendor came in the local tack store and THEY ROCK.

Thanks! I grabbed a pair to do some schooling shows this summer - at this price they are cheaper than half-chaps!

Your FB didn’t work for me, but the $99 price was on the main page when I opened it. Prices good through midnight tonight.

We have them and I call them par"want"ies. They are great - look darn close to the real things (which we have for shows). They are almost like half chaps.

 Par"want"ies! Ok, I’ll try a pair!

Here is the web link!

PS use coupon code TENOFF to get $10 off your order

I couldn’t resist… I wasn’t exactly looking for boots since I’m not currently planning on showing but who can say no to that deal??

Darnit, they’re so talllllll whine

You guys are giving me major FOMO so I did more research to see if there’s any chance they could be tall enough for me.

Heads up: the height listed on the Dover site is apparently the height of the boot including the Spanish top. The back height is a full inch and a half shorter. So, for example, a pair of these boots that lists a 19.5 height measurement on Dover only has an 18 inch height to the back of the knee.

Also, since they’re that really thin wrinkly leather apparently they drop a lot too.

If you normally get your boots in tall these boots are extremely unlikely to work for you. If you order regular height normally you should be good.

What about those of us with fat calf?

It is a generous fit

I hate and love you all at the same time.

I tried really hard to talk myself out of these…but I really just do not like my Tredsteps so I’m going to give these a try.

Used the TENOFF code as well.

thanks for enabling guys

So… should I go regular instead of wide, especially when it has elastic on both front and back?

You should go by the size chart on Dover’s page and then figure between the super soft leather and the elastic panels it will break in.

my last order with dover had them transpose my email address from an online order wrong, so I didn’t receive confirmation. I’d call them to double check!

It looks like it went through with PayPal - and with the tenoff code (so the dover site just didn’t show it right) applied! No confo email yet, but if it’s through paypal and I have a screenshot of the order page, I’ll wait and see if they come to me. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for the heads up, french fry!

Just bought a pair. Keeping my fingers crossed that they fit as I’ve never tried TuffRiders before.

After our boots arrive, let’s all meet back here in case anyone needs to trade sizes.
