Question about a stray kitty

the double edged sword of safety collars. I got one for my kitty, with a bell, because she hunts birds. She seemed ok wearing it, she is a laid back gal. The next day the collar was gone without a trace.

Write his name and your contact info on the colar with sharpie. Not pretty, but non-jingly as well.
As far as harness goes, it is tough to say what works. Wally World has now a selection I saw while shopping for catfood. Not sure how they would work, as my cats are vastly different in size.

In your case I would ask if for the short stay a dog colalr would work. it is risky but more likely to stay put.

Chewy has a breakaway cat collar that you can get printed with your name and phone number. That’s what my barn cat wears.

My mom had a cat that was an expert at slipping out of a harness until mom tried a rabbit harness on her.
It was like a vest, not just straps, it had velcro closures with break away closures overtop so it could be very snugly adjusted.

Once adjusted snugly she couldn’t back out of it due to the width of the vest.

Bunny rabbit harness? or a Rabbitgoo cat harness? Never knew there are harnesses for rabbits.

My cats are indoor and don’t do collars or harnesses (have tried!) - but whenever they go to the vet, vets put on a temp collar - like a hospital or concert bracelet. Do you need a collar or harness?

Joanne, yes it was a harness for a bunny. There are also harnesses for guinea pigs and ferrets.

The fabric part of the harness had bunnies on it but the cat never noticed, lol!

We are going to be traveling next month. When I open his crate for anything, I would like to be able to put a leash on him just in case he decides to leave. I was talking to the head of a local cat rescue at an adoption event, and she advised having both a collar and a harness on him while traveling.

Makes sense! I haven’t had great luck with harnessed, but others have. I got one off Amazon, if I recall correctly
