Had one going nuts for bread. Stole doughnuts, marshmallows…made a bigger mess with baked goods than any rodent ever!

When we were kids we had a female cat that LOVED angel food cake and would tear one open in a similar fashion. We had to hide them in the cupboard, no letting it on the counter.
Same cat also loved corn on the cob, would drag a cob off and gnaw on it like a carcass.
Cats are weird!
Love the fang marks and huge circles. Brat.
Man is he going to be stopped up.
@PintoPony - I had a cat like that, too! You literally could not leave an angel cake unattended because she would get to it and snarf it all down. I took to finally hiding them in the oven. Where I would find her sitting looking down the one exhaust burner because she could smell the cake.
He wants tacos!
Are those the feet of the offending kitty at the top of the picture?
I see those tippy toes!
Hahahaha!
Nothing was safe from Thomas… bread, cookies, candy, cake, pepper jack cheese… it was all fair game if left on the counter.
He was an awesome cat and your Tom is obviously one too. Have fun!
Lol, at least he presents himself at the scene of the crime!
I am very fortunate that none of my cats like people food.
Except for Ralph who will on the rare occasion lick the butter off my toast, as well as the cream cheese icing off a cake or muffin if it hasn’t been covered properly. Oh, the Kittens With Mittens can hear an olive jar open from across the house while in a dead sleep. They will lick the juice off of one then walk away.
Yes, those are Oliver’s toes. He was wondering what I was planning to do with his tortillas.
my dog did that just today. dragged off a whole package of tortillas and ate half of them + wrapper. I have to remember to leave NOTHING on the table anymore.
OMG! I have two who will do that even if the item is headed into my mouth! Don’t even turn your head away from a piece of buttered anything because it will be licked dry in a matter of split seconds.
I wonder what it is about the olives? Mine acted like I had offered them a cobra.
My old calico Smudge(gone now)would crouch over an olive growling the whole time she was eating it.
My old red tabby Tango(gone now) would eat raisin bran cereal in milk, carefully eating around or spitting out the raisins. He didn’t like any other kind of people food.
I had a cat who would drink green olive “juice”, the vinegar. Don’t know why.
Who knows what goes on in their little heads.
One of my cats (the angelfood cake cat) loved aromatic things - lavender, eucalyptus, peppermint, etc - her favorite thing was an astringent called SeaBreeze. If I used it on my face she would run over to me and try to lick my face raw.
I would love to see a picture of him. I know male calicos exist…but have never even seen a picture.
I had a cat who would go BANANAS if I ever put on icy hot or bengay. I can only assume that it was the menthol - but holy moly his pupils would dilate and he would act like it was 100x high octane cat nip. He would go as far as sucking in the neckline of a shirt if I had put it on my neck - even pulling it out of the laundry hamper days later.
Fortunately, my cats now just keep to cat food and the occasional treat of drinking the drained water from canned tuna when make a sandwich. They LOVE their royal canin kibble though. So much so that if I leave a bag out, its riddled with fang marks from them trying to open it - nevermind that the EXACT SAME stuff is ready and waiting in the bowl. I guess they demand ultimate freshness on top of quality.
Hahaha - he is a terrible thief! Leaving paw prints all over the scene of the crime!
Ok. Need help again with Oliver. He is going to the vet for one-day boarding tomorrow (power to the house is going to be cut off for 6-8 hours while electricians do some major work & it is going to be hot). Only had 2 harnesses and both are unusable.
Went to Petco and Petsmart this afternoon and they don’t have a huge choice of collars and harnesses. Picked out a break-away collar which came with a bell.
Didn’t go a smoothly as I had hoped. He hates collars, probably never had to wear one before. Kept adjusting it, first larger, then gradually smaller and smaller. At a couple of points, he did manage to get his jaw in it, but I was right there, took it off, and then made it smaller. Finally got a pretty good fit. Now have to take the bell off because he got a dew claw caught in it. He will only wear the collar when I can watch him; will ask the vet’s office to remove it when they get him in his condo. The last time I took it off of him, he backed up and the collar broke open so now I think he has learned that. Oh about the bell. I guess that means I can’t put an ID tag on the collar. He is microchipped, though.
Please make some suggestions on a good harness for him from Amazon.
