Can anyone find a link or point me to where to find Phar Lap or Horse in the Gray Flannel Suit? We just got Disney plus and that was the first movie I looked for! :lol: It only seems to have the newer movies - such a bummer.

The movie with the coal mining ponies was The Littlest Horse Thieves. I was traumatized by it as a kid.
On Disney+ is one called “Hacksaw” about a unrideable horse who goes on to do the chuck wagon races.
Does anyone remember who payed Aspy or who did the stunt riding in The Horse in the Gray Flannel Suit? That was pretty amazing riding.
Something to Talk About is really good too with a wonderful cast, Julia Roberts, Dennis Quaid and Robert Duvall

If you would like to see the worst movie ever made – and a young Zac Effron demonstrating what horrible riding looks like – I highly recommend the Derby Stallion! It’s so bad, it’s funny.
Thanks for the link to that thread; I had read it awhile ago but forgot the details (though did know that Kathy Kusner and Aberali were “Aspy and Susie” at Washington) - as for the bareback rider, he was incredible!
On a different discussion of the movie, someone said he was a H/J rider/trainer in CA who they tapped for the role (I wonder if he is credited?) Someone on COTH knew who he was, but we would need to dig up that thread.
I had more luck ordering DVDs than finding streaming horse movies. I ordered Shergar, the somewhat old Irish movie. The riding is fun to watch. Not a bad afternoon movie.

What was the movie with the white horse that was being abused in some sort of western situation and a teenage girl tries to rescue him and he jumps out of the paddock and over the bed of a pickup truck so she saves him and turns him into (I think) an eventer? Does anyone remember this one? I loved that movie but cannot remember the name.
Jeepgirl, I think the movie you’re thinking of is called “Sylvester”.
It stars Melissa Gilbert and she trains the bucking string horse to be an eventer and they go to Rolex. Ridiculous plot but a fun time waster.
YES! That is it. Has anyone found this online anywhere? I remember loving that movie.
