A friend tried transferring my VHS tapes to DVD with some equipment he had several years ago & the results were disappointing.
Now I’m afraid those tapes might be so much unwatchable plastic 
One of my most favourite horse movies, from 1946, called “Gallant Bess”. Even if you don’t watch the whole movie, watch the last 15 minutes. It’s fabulous - I challenge any horse lover not to cry happy tears!
