Muffy is a player to be named later, in baseball parlance. She’s been introduced, but not explored, so if we need her to do something, good or bad, she’s available. If you are thinking of inventing a female character, see if you can use Muffy to accomplish what needs doing.
Good story continuences w/Savannah Ben & Me and Creseida! Loved that GSP! Colin will have that on her girl by the time she is ready to show! LOL!
Things that need doing:
Both horses need to get back to the farm. One or both of them needs to get to a show!
Jackie will be getting a letter from a lawyer (won’t Inverness be sorry she picked this weekend to go away lol! Seems someone wants to contest the will…
We need Finzean to post the name of the So Pines tack shop so Ruth can over hear something while she’s replacing Destiny’s bridle.
Carleton DESERVES a drink (or 3!) at Finches where he’ll see someone who looks familiar, but he just can’t place.

My thanks to everyone for their sympathy for my loss of Pounce. Call it denial, call it “haunting” heck, call it an overactive imagination. But the girl is still here giving me growling grief while I try to type. I tried telling her, look - you’re a ghost now, you can let YOURSELF OUT. Just walk through the WALL! But, no, just as in life I had to open the FRONT door, not the BACK door to let her out, I have to do it HER way. When she growls now she’s telling me to play w/ her kids; they need me too, as much as I need them.
That being said, I’m planning a MAJOR Suffering Pines installment for Thursday (day off 
) because the alternative is cleaning out my tenant house for new renters. Which would I rather do? Hmmm let me think!
So stay tuned faithful readers! Jackie is thru Suffering and is ready to Kick Butt!
I really like “Suffering Pines” so far … but you have so many people eager to post that the story is following many different paths! Perhaps if someone gets “beaten to the post” by someone else, then they should delete their posts for the sake of continuity?
Okay, I’m sort of into details. When Erik was introduced, he had disappeared from the horse world 10 years ago. Now, all of a sudden, he’s been away 7 years. What happened to the other 3 years?
Well done everybody! I’m getting lots of positive feedback on this, so I know even lurkers are enjoying our opus.
In rereading this, I find I’m not too disturbed about inconsistencies. After all, if I wanted to write a straightforward book, I wouldn’t have posted it here LOL! But that being said, let’s remember this is supposed to be taking place in “Suffering Pines” so let’s not go to Mosby’s quite so often. It’s a great place, but a heck of a road trip from SP.
So, where we are now (more or less) is:
Jackie has a horse, who may or maynot be “Destiny”; she’s still riding w/ Erik and is getting ready to make her showring debut. She is torn between Carleton Phipps (faithful, loyal, true) and the quiet, mysterious maleness of Heath (who really should be the cause for more HUMOR! He has ASPHASIA so he mis-uses words alot,i.e. “Can I take your buttercup” leading to lots of ‘WHat? did you say???’ Imagine the love scenes when he utters, “You’re everything I ever dreamed a vacuum could be!” meaning woman).
It’s become clear that Heath has 2 employers, one whom pays him, and one whom keeps his secret in exchange for Heath’s doing things he’d rather not do.
Erik needs some fleshing out and some ACTION, Inverness! your charactor needs you! Jair, please monitor “Ruth” even if you didn’t create her!
If someone wants to tighten the VA connection, Muffy and Savannah are largely unexplored. If one of them can zip around in a private jet, and trains in No VA that might explain some things. Any takers for Muffy and Savannah?
One last reminder, as scintillating as SP is, let’s always check THIS thread first for updates before posting new story.

I have to go to a trade show in NYC and unless my boss lets me use her laptop, I’ll be out of the Pines until Wednesday.
I am charging YOU to keep the Pines on the 1st page of the BB. Inverness, Razumny keep it coming! Devildog - HAH you only think you have the real true love! Equimom, I see lots of possiblities for Mama Evie. I noticed a slowdown when I put the kabosh on any relationships w/ Jackie until she got to a show. Well…GET HER AND A HORSE TO A SHOW FCS! If I’m not exhausted from packing I’ll try to add before I go to bed.

Good Morning! Our story continues apace. Let’s try to stay in one tense (3d person) and move the story forward in time a little. As best I can tell, the time frame started at M’burg Classic so now is almost time for indoors. What will happen there? Jackie can’t take Destiny (not qualified) but what of her friends horses? Let’s get some “fun” happenings behind the scenes at indoors. Some of us have never been, so we will look to the “veterans” to provide detail and salicious (but disguised!)gossip!
I haven’t had time to read through this entire thread or the original Suffering Pines, but I do want you to know that I have the ending ready when you’re ready. 
Don’t worry; it’s right in keeping with everything else you’ve written.
Because she is so well known and one of her farms is nearby in N. Va. Does that fly?
