A simple “I’m the one he clapped at, and I’m dealing with it” without further elaboration would have been the way to handle it and stay within the rules.

I just can’t figure csaper out on this one. He / she hopes charges are scuessfully brought against NP, but doesn’t want anyone discussing the circumstances leading to those charges here. Unless of course screen shots are posted. Those are ok because he/ she wants to see proof with his / her own eyes. But not ok because discussing such allegations, until they are proven, is gossip and might get this thread shut down. And he / she doesn’t want the thread shut down because of discussions about NP because he/she wants it open to continue the “gossip” and unproven allegations against SW. Did I get that right? Oh and he/ she wants to moderate the forum as well.

I saw the video. I happen to know that a copy of it (actually there are two, as NP saw fit to edit it) exists. Maybe in my HD, maybe not.
I also have a copy of his blog, as it was posted.
Take what you like from that, but if it comes down to removing posts because they don’t believe the video/s which substantiate TD’s claim exists, fine.

If, in real life, ThistleDewDressage can get satisfaction from the courts more power to him/her.

But I don’t think any COTHer should use unsubstantiated claims that they have starting legal action in progress to make an end-run around the rules barring gossiping about another’s misbehavior… especially when they have no proof of those deeds to offer.

I do in fact know why he targeted me. I had a facebook friend who i had been “friends” with for several years, I didn’t have any notable interactions with her, but I saw a post that mentioned NP. I private messaged her and told her my experience and that of a friend. No where did I mention the chronicle or anything that did not happen to me or someone I know personally. We had a fairly long conversation via PM where she thanked me and we went on to talk of other things. She must have seen fit to share that with NP as he later posted screen shots of that conversation as “proof.” I would be happy to share that conversation to anyone interested. That is the extent of the interaction I had up until receiving that phone call several weeks after the fact.

My intention was simply to give information to protect someone who may have been unknowing and who was my facebook friend for an extended period of time.

You seem to keep missing the point that the claims HAVE been substantiated by multiple people.
They don’t need to be substantiated by you personally to be allowed.

I have seen participants of COTH twist, misrepresent, spin, and lie, about many facts and many other posters, on this board. I have seen a lot of witch hunting, mud slinging, and bullying here.

Yet you demand that the information posted…by someone who is evading their contractual responsibility to abide by the known rules of this forum… should be considered above suspicion because it vilifies someone you have a well documented antipathy for.

I’m not demanding anything from anyone. You are the only person who has done that. I have no feelings either way but have no reason to doubt the people who saw / recorded the video. You are welcome to be sceptical but that doesn’t give you grounds to demand to see proof yourself or dictate to people how they should be posting. If you choose to give NP the benefit of the doubt then you are free to do so. If others want to take NP’s past behaviour into account and give the posters here the benefit of the doubt, they are welcome to as well.

I am also another who view this happen online. I am not on FB but on his blog or whatever he calls it he had a link to FB and it actually worked for me. He rarely makes his FB account public. SO there are a few of us who viewed the post and the video. He did take both down but I searched Google cache and found a copy of the blog post but not the video as he deleted that. I will not post it as it may compromise the investigation and charges.

Maybe when it is all over we can re-visit.

You are welcome to be sceptical but that doesn’t give you grounds to demand to see proof yourself Well actually that is exactly what being skeptical is

or dictate to people how they should be posting. Reminding another of the rules and trying to keep a valuable thread open is not dictating.

If you choose to give NP the benefit of the doubt then you are free to do so. being suspicious of posters with a history of rabid antipathy on a subject is not the same as giving someone the benefit of the doubt.

The more a person tries to twist words to suit their purpose the less trust worthy they become.

I find it extremely odd that a poster who rapaciously defends NP in this forum would actually know what very large and engrossed percentage of any audience he allegedly has comes from COTH. There is no way to come up with such a figure. NP has been discussed “rapaciously” on assorted FB pages and forums many times over and I very much doubt everyone on all those pages posts on the COTH forums…

As I said NP’s detractors seem quite riveted by everything he says and does.
