^^^^ Agreed!
My former trainer told me they were hanging by one of the back gates at Spruce, not the main international field, but one that had a young horse class. They heard a very familiar voice at the back gate clearly on the phone excitedly talking about the horse’s round as she was coming out. It was Beezie. They said she sounded like an absolutely horse crazy kid talking to what was probably the owner. I think that enthusiasm for the horses is so apparent in the quality of her program.
…and after all of her success she still gets verclempt when her horse wins.

Awwwwwww.
And also, wow. All those pictures over jumps highlight how consistent and correct her position is, even over that height, when they are jumping mountains.
I am in awe of her leg position and her stability! Always lovely.
The google says she’s 5’6 (citing TeamUSA.org, so I assume it’s pulled from olympic stats and likely at least reasonably correct).
She is one of the greatest - but that stallion Darry Lou (sp?) is amazing, too…his legs disappear into his undercarrieage, front and back, when he jumps.
Here is the video of the winning round:

How he responded, when she called him back after that double oxer-liverpool line with the verticals following!
Very impressive!

I may have confused her w/ Margie on that point. Sorry! Well, she’s still a badass.
i agree about the impeccable form shown in all those still photos. Wow
I think I fell into absolute respect when she and John made a training video about how they worked with one of the horses using clicker training to get over water issues. This was a horse that was passed around Europe and went on to be a winner for her.
Sorry to warn you, very bad things about Tom are coming down the pipe
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
She’s also an inspiration to older riders. Us older riders have challenges that the young folks won’t understand until years down the road. Beezie is 55. I’m 52. I admire her, respect her and love so much that she gives us old broads hope
I swear her leg does not move!
How big is that little horse? He’s amazing and adorable!
I’m not too old to admit I teared up watching that round. I met her at the Longines Masters in LA a few years back and yes, like a 12 year old girl, I asked for her autograph. She was so kind, even though it was before a class, to take the time to talk to so many fans (many of whom were actually 12). It was so cool to watch!
I love watching her. She’s effective, but never too loud with the aids. We all know those riders that are effective but seem to piss off every horse they get on. Beezie stays cool and smooth and makes some of those jumper courses look like she’s in a hunter ring.
It’s funny, because she’s so smooth that often you don’t realize how fast she’s going until you look at the clock after she crosses the finish line.
She’s always fast. Here’s one of my favorites. She just sets him up and then allows him to do the rest.
