This article states that she was purchased for $3 Million…!

Don’t think it’s that big a deal or train wreck material…good for Chloe and the mare has a secure future.
My first thought was, I hope she has some really good prospects, because so far this horse seems to be her only super star. That said I’m glad she is taking her back for retirement. Oh and I though she has her longer then 5 years, I was surprised they weren’t together longer.

Wow, I missed that the first time.
My eyes are adjusting to new glasses today, does the article still say the price?

I didn’t see a price when I read the article.

No, it is gone now but it did say it before
Thanks, JFJ. Maybe these new glasses do work.

She does have a couple up and comers that she’s high on. I can’t comment on the quality, I haven’t seen them go in person.
Wouldn’t be terribly shocked if she turned around and made a big purchase for a consistent 1.60 horse.

Not to be nasty, but wasn’t Cos I Can supposed to be that horse? Or Wolf S? Seems like you have to go through a few to get the right one. Just goes to show how hard it is to stay in the stratosphere of this sport!
Just goes to show how out of reach that level of the sport really has become for most people.
Good for Cloe, though - super nice horse that should take her to the next level.

Not nasty, at all. I agree that was the point of those purchases, but just have a feeling that 3 million is going to be reinvested. Or maybe I’m completely off and she buys a couple of youngsters. It will definitely be interesting to see either way.
Here’s my favorite Cylana moment. She was a whiz-bang at Spruce Meadows and even though she didn’t win this one, it was a hell of a round. (Bonus: Dixson!)
As we all know, all the money in the world won’t buy a rider success, if we define success as Olympic medals and world championships.
No money also doesn’t work.
There’s a perfect chemistry that comes with being a world class rider. Finances, temperament, work ethic, natural talent, trainability all have to come together. Even then, every class is throw of the dice.

Hey, I went through three trying to find a suitable, competitive 3’ Hunter and had to step that one down as it aged. Staying competition ready is not easy at any level or price when horses are involved. Elite level competition just takes elite level funding but even the ones that rise to that level don’t last forever. This is a real win win for all parties including that mare. Good for them.
Sad as I was to hear of the sale, my next thought was: “Good for her”. She is understanding what “being in business” is and she has to make her way now that daddy is no longer buying her anything she wants.
It is not the kind of reality that most of us face when we go out n our own, but it is a life lesson in making money and not having things handed to her.
Selling for $3,000,000 and getting her back in several years to retire is a win/win.
Did Brianne become a trainer after college? Does she have many clients or just this family? Loved watching her do the Big Eq-she could ride!
