But it was awesome!! You could check a box to see the ignored post, because you could still see there was a post, you just couldn’t see what it was, IIRC. i admit to peeking a few times when things seemed extra entertaining, but mostly I was blissfully ignorant
As I posted in the Blocked topic, it appears the new software is Discourse, Open Source (yay!). From a brief scan of the Discourse web site, it appears that things like ignore might be handled differently than what we are used to. Having said that, don’t know exactly what we’ll see when Discourse is implemented. Open Source means that anyone can change the code if they desire (in a very simplistic nutshell).
Sounded like some sort of ability to not see posts, just don’t know how it will look or feel
Searching keywords within threads doesn’t seem to work. Anyone else have this issue?
Lol, who couldn’t resist a peak?
I did find there’s also Ignore feature, in addition to Mute, that wasn’t turned on for regular users, so I think that should be an option.
I haven’t played around with it yet to see how it looks, but it poofs the Ignored person’s posts in some fashion. Nice that you could have basically two levels of disengagement: Mute, to just not be notified and directly drawn into the fray, or Ignore to totally cover your eyes and not subject yourself to someone whose comments you can’t stand.

”‹”‹”‹”‹”‹”‹”‹Page load performance has been fairly slow all weekend
I found this to be the case too. (And thank you, Where’sMyWhite, I was thinking it was just me.)
Very slow since Friday for me.
Another one reporting in on slow load times…
So slow as to be useless.
Slooooooooow here also.
It has also been slow all weekend for me, and still today.
Today as well and logging in took forever.
Ditto on the slow… like dial-up slow. Are they ever going to get this platform working properly?
Patience grasshopper.
Until this weekend, the performance has actually been more than, iMO, acceptable.
The BB software, vBulletin, is in the process of being replaced by new software, Discourse. Progress is being made but changes like this don’t happen overnight (from the decision to replace to selecting a new BB platform to testing and implementing the new software and potential subsequent, shall we say, feedback from users ).
Not for me it hasn’t but not worth whining about until this past weekend.
It’s been slow for me too, for sure. We just opened up the new platform to the users who’d expressed an interest in Beta testing, and based on feedback and implementation of subsequent tweaks, I’d anticipate the new site becoming available potentially as early as next week. I’m sure there will be more work to do once the new site goes live, and there will be a learning curve as we all figure out the new features and get used to the new environment.
I’ll pass on the word about the performance issues, in case it’s something that would affect us going forward to the new site.
AAAAnnnd now it’s back to its normal loading rate. Must be like a car that stops making ‘that weird noise’ just when you’re pulling into the repair shop. Or, if they did fix something, tell 'em thanks!
Not for me.
(Not complaining. Just saying. I am looking forward to the new set-up.)
Not for me either, still horrible, also looking forward to the new set up, because this has sucked for days
