I’d love to hear an update from the OP? How goes your progress. I see none of the ads have been taken down yet…hope your having luck on the legal side of it.
[B]Hi Everyone on COTH,
I really would like to use this opportunity to say THANK YOU!!! Without each and every one of your efforts here on this board, the private messages, the emails, the phone calls, and the extensiveness of this information going viral on Facebook, I never would have been able to resolve this situation!
I would like to let you all know that FINALLY this situation has been resolved. While Jill Burnell still refused to speak to me during this whole ordeal, a third party that was close to Jill was able to help work this out. Jill now owns the filly legally. I wish her the best of luck as she is a SPECTACULAR filly! I hope someone buys her and gives her the show home she deserves! I can speak from experience, owning both her mother and her full sister, you will not be disappointed with the filly!
I hope you all know how much I really do appreciate all of your efforts! I can’t even begin to thank you all for the amount of support I received!
The good news here is that at least we know how to help others in the future with any issues the may or may not arise with Gray Fox Farms in the future.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please feel free to post here, email me at (austin.aibel@gmail.com) or PM me here on COTH. If anyone needs my help in the future, please feel free to contact me. I understand the situation and am willing to help in any way possible! Hopefully as a result of all this information going public, future incidents with GFF and JB can be prevented.
With my most sincere thanks,
Austin A.

Glad you finally got paid for the filly, not the best outcome, since I am sure she is worth more now, and well, sure better homes who can afford to show her to her fullest etc are out there and would love to have her, but at least ONE bill was cleared up. Sad to see someone else had to cover her ass though.
I followed this thread from the beginning (with much  going on) and am THRILLED to see this update. So glad you got your money.
Sure hope the rest of the people Mizz JB has screwed take action against her legally. Sure sounds like she’s got it coming in spades.
So glad this was resolved for you! Just goes to show you REALLY have to put the fire under Jill’s feet to get her to do right.
Lesson learned for others battling to get money or horses owed by Jill. GET THE WORD OUT! Far and wide! sic COTH on her. Make it so uncomfortable for her, and so hard to keep doing business that she is forced to (ask a friend to) do the right thing.
Wonder how she can afford to buy a new ranch, while she has to go to a friend to pay her debt

IF - big IF - GFF was selling to use the money to get herself out of the place she’s in right now - SHE WOULD NOT BE BUYING/LEASING MORE MARES. That for me is the telling issue about her actions. She’s just churning and churning and going in deeper. That is not the actions of a person who is responsible and seeking to remedy the situation AND protect the horses - whether they belong to her or her clients.
Exactly… Unfortunately Austin, you are not the first, and I doubt you will be the last victim of Jill’s “business practices”.
Are there any other simar situations ?? I know of one mare who needs to be returned home.

PM me…
good news OP
now you should update on the H/J forum
Glad to hear that things worked out for you. Whom ever the 3rd party is must be a pretty stand up kind of friend to being trying to make good for JB. Kudo’s to them for making things right.
OP, that is super news. You are one of the fortunate few, I am guessing.
This (below) was posted on your thread over on the h/j forums. I hope you see it and realize she (JB) is accusing you of blackmail.
My note below from JB.
Jay,
Just because your in Canada doesn’t mean my lawyers won’t go after you. The filly isn’t stolen, it’s a blackmail attempt on the part of the poster. If I give her money or the filly she’ll take down the ads. I have the paperwork to prove it. A normal person would check the facts. This is your one warning.
Jill
That is very good news!
I wonder how said friend is going to get her money back from JB - and how long it will take.
Great news!
That’s such good news!! I’m glad this situation resolved in your favor!
I’m glad you finally got your money, but… I’m sorry the filly didn’t come back to you. Isn’t she the one that looked so bad in one picture that JB said she rescued? I worry about her future.

No, that wasn’t the same filly.
Congrats!!!
If you read through the countless other threads there seems to be a pattern. First the OP is a liar and she will sue anyone and everyone who believes differently, then the update comes that the breeding cert or whatever magically shows up after all those months. So at least the map to success has been laid but it sure would be nice to avoid all the BS in the first place.
Flame suit on:
The OTHER pattern is that:
A. Folks seem to keep sending her mares.
B. Folks keep breeding to her stallions. Redwine? Very marginally talented as a jumper and moves as he was bred to move…a dressage horse. And yes, I saw him show, and yes, with a SUPERB mare who can jump, could BE some nice capable hunters but
C. There are many hard working honest breeders in the NA with (IMHO) far better stallions who need your business ! If HB has come down to just about lousy prospects who happen to be black with high white socks, then breeding here is in trouble! And you might need to pay more for real talent!
D. Why support a crook?
To the OP …glad it got resolved!
Well in my case I chose to breed to him mainly because two breeders I admire and respect chose him for their mares. I figured if he was good enough for them he was certainly good enough for me. It was only later that I found out the breedings were in lieu of money owed, although that doesn’t mean they didn’t think he was worth breeding to if they had to pay for it. I can’t speak on anyone else’s foals but mine has exceeded my expectations in every way by a mile. I thought the foal would be nice but never dreamed she would be this nice. I plan to do low level eventing with her which she should be able to do with one leg tied behind her back.
I am no longer breeding but knowing what I know I would not breed to him again regardless of how much I love my filly.
I’ve liked the babies i have seen… are there many under saddle yet?
Also, it seems like there are few young stallions being marketed successfully as hunter themselves (and future producers) that move more like dressage horses.
It seems like there will be a bunch of babies by him growing up and getting started under saddle in the next few years, so we’ll see.
