Rich Fellers

Question: Is an athlete banned from USEF competitions still able to show in other countries?

Yes, if there is no USEF affiliation. Someone banned from USEF could still compete in the US at a non USEF affiliated show (ie: schooling show or one run through a different association).

Not at the FEI level, because the bans are reciprocal with national federations.

To expand, in order to show at national federation shows in most European countries, you have to get a license or provisional license based on your own national federation record. It is highly likely that most Euro national federations would deny a competition license if your own federation record showed you as banned/suspended.

many countries require that foreign riders be in good standing with their national federation, Canada requires that foreign participants be in good standing for their shows, not just FEI divisions. The same applies to foreign riders in USEF shows

SS is an outgrowth of the IOC; so if country’s are subject to the IOC then he will be banned in those countries too

It’s the same facilities and staff. The hand-off is an ages-old tactic, when someone and their business gets in trouble.

But there are what I assume to be remainders of his dad’s site on this new site. The training page currently refers to horses being ridden by RFS staff, which I assume is Rich Fellers Stables.

The website for Genesis Sport Horses was built from the Rich Fellers Stables website files. The old website was simply taken off-line and re-edited for Chris’ use, with some obvious required changes and whatnot.

Yeah. That’s what I figured. Old page (thank you WayBack Machine) looks essentially the same.

From the latest news, long-time (many years) RF working student and RFS rider Mia Baum also parted ways with Rich Fellers in recent days.

She pretty much has no choice but to do so if she wants to continue riding in recognized shows, unless Rich is cleared or the case dropped.

I disagree, if you are innocent but your business has been irreparably harmed due to the allegation and/or the USEF restriction impacting your ability to earn money and you are losing money that you were normally making to pay bills, you may start liquidating things to cover the mortgage and hay bill. Or free up cash for a legal battle. How would ANYONE who has had their salary cut into half or otherwise going to pay bills? Horses still eat.

I literally have no dog in this fight, but c’mon that’s just ridiculous. “You don’t transfer assets if you are innocent.” Pretty sure this board has repeatedly told women thinking about leaving their husbands to go transfer money out of the joint accounts. Tsk.

Thanks for the link.

Wow you folks in Oregon must have something in the water. Rich Fellers, Jeff Campf, Steve Newell
why do their wives and clients put up with [them]?

I applaud the young lady that brought forth charges, good for her
she has a good head on her shoulders. It appears she has a very promising riding career in front of her.

I wonder what Fellers would do if his daughter who is older than his victim were going through the same thing, my guess is he might take out the guy.

Does anyone know when the decision will be made on the suspension? Weren’t the Fellers all over social media supporting George?

Perhaps what is in our water is something that gives confidence to stand up and speak out

I believe the young rider is from Woodside CA.

Not from OR.

And yes, Jeff Campf is gross. I don’t attend their shows because I refuse to give $$ to either of them. And I have friends that ride there. Ugh.

Yes I know a reliable source as well. Apparently the Fellers also sold their vacation home, documented on FB. The family is probably ruined as both the kids are just riding on his name as for their careers, the daughter is an equestrian “fashion designer” (oh brother, as she never rode from what I heard) and the son’s future as a trainer is as good as dead, he’s a nobody except for his last name. From my source the guess is they are moving all their financial assets off shore / out of the country. The young lady comes from a financially well off family and the thought is that they are going to take the Fellers for everything they have, as they should. Game over.

Of course if there are criminal charges, I imagine he’s a flight risk as well. They have probably moved their finances to a country where they can’t be extradited.

Reliable sources aside (I have one of those too, in this case ), if there’s no link to an actual source, I’m not sure anyone should be claiming hearsay as fact. It’s one thing for George Morris to write about his exploits (erm, brag about them in print & then cry when you get caught), or in Jeff’s case to have actual settlements [edit].

Alas, this is an anonymous Internet forum so do what you will.
