Ride safe bracelets instead of armbands!

DD picked up a Tagg Code at Rolex. www.taggcode.com She was happy with how easy it was to set up and it’s so comfortable she wears it all day, every day.

Just wanted to add something in case others were having a similar dilemma as myself. I ordere a road ID with Internet access and an additional badge with just regular 6 lines of info. I didn’t like that the Internet access one only provided 2 lines, but that you need that one to be legal in place of an armband. I wear mine when hacking alone and taking lessons, and wished to have several lines of info available without having to check the Internet. I tend to ride in areas where reception can be spotty. Anyway, I put both badges on one bracelet and it works great. I out it on when I get in my truck on the way to an event and take it off when I get home. Yes, it costs more to get the extra nameplate, (I think $15), but to me it is worth it. Just a thought for those that may be interested.

Doesn’t mean they aren’t wonderful, hardworking people. But wonderful people can still make bad business decisions.
Thanks, you said it better than I could. I to this day have NEVER gotten a reply to any of my emails, despite asking folks who are friends with the owner (a vet). Part of mine is still spelled wrong, but at least it finally got activated after about a year…although I was never notified.

I think they just need a really good business manager to take care of these important details. There is a lot of lost business that could be recovered very easily with improved customer relations and QA/QC.

Just an FYI on the bracelets. If your show is somewhere remote with no wifi, they will likely ask riders to still carry a paper version of your info with you on XC and stadium. They made the announcement several times at our show this past weekend.

I haven’t been to a recognized event yet this season, so I’m wondering how officials are checking the legality of bracelets worn in lieu of arm bands. Do the bracelets need a URL listed on them, and are officials checking those links to ensure that the required medical info is available online?

I’ve never once had an official as much as glance at my arm band, which is totally out of date and contains incorrect info. Just wondering if they will be stricter now that bracelets are allowed.

Have had my ride safe bracelet about a month and have only worn it on weekends and the few times I have time to ride-the engraving is so worn both on the top and the number below that it is illegible. grrr.
A friend ordered both kinds and has been wearing them pretty much all the time - she also said the lettering is already wearing off the RideSafe and she finds the RoadID much more durable. They may want to reconsider their engraving process…

Just ordered the RoadID slim. Customized it (Eventer) and got an extra wrist band.$28 for all, including shipping. The arm bands never fit me correctly.

I have not had anyone actually check my bracelet. At one event the xc starter asked if I was wearing one (it’s somewhat hidden by my gloves) and I showed him that I was. He didn’t ask for the specifics, and no one else has mentioned it. But I’ve never had anyone check the armband except at the T3D and I actually rode without it once, completely by accident, and didn’t realize until I got back to the trailer. So not like they are really checking most of the time.

Good to hear as instead of the RoadID link, I put contact info with 2 phone numbers, no medical history, my allergies. That really is all that is on the armbands. While not “legal”, I’m going to try to fudge.

I am going to do the same thing because I don’t have a link engraved on my bracelet, either. Glad I won’t be the only one!

Huh. Kinda defeats the purpose, doesn’t it?

This is true for mine, too. I ordered it the day the press release went out that USEA would allow them on April 1.

Just wore mine at a 1 Day and noone could see it or looked/glanced/cared…not sure at a recognized.

I have like 6 lines of info on mine. The engraving/letters are already rubbing/fading. Not super impressed.

RoadID might be better?

I did sent the company an email regarding the engraving rubbing off- got a quick reply and was told a new faceplate by their new engraver would be sent to me. That was about 10 days ago I think. I haven’t gotten the new plate yet but am anxious to see how it holds up.

Yep - I had the same experience! They said they realize there was an issue with the engraver and have switched. Hoping the new plate holds up longer. Also going to put my Tagg Code on the same bracelet for extra protection (can be read by scanning without internet service).

I did a starter HT yesterday wearing mine, and saw quite a few people with them on. No one asked to examine mine, just as no one has ever asked to look at my armband. I did have the armband along, too, just in case. It is a LOT more comfortable with short sleeves than the big sweaty armband.

Mine is a Road ID and it’s been holding up well. I wore it for 2 weeks straight while traveling, and have been wearing it while hiking with the dog and riding at home. It still looks brand new. The most I’ve had to do is rinse off the band with a little water-- it got dunked in the wash bucked while I was rinsing my horse off after XC yesterday, and looks like it just came out of the package.

Road ID rocks. I wear mine all the time. My husband does too. He was broke his neck two years ago and takes a lot of drugs for pain. He listed all his meds, amounts, etc.

My RoadID took about a week to arrive. It is perfect and everything is correct. I’m a small boned female but ordered a medium as that what the size chart said and it fits with not a lot to spare. Go by the chart!

After reading this post, I’m strongly considering getting a RoadID. I ordered my second Ride Safe back in MARCH and didn’t receive it til the end of May. I was not told, emailed, nor was it posted on the website there was going to be a nearly three month delay on the product that was slated to only take up to four weeks. When I finally received it, the plate was wrong. I’ve just received the replacement plate only to find that it has completely different information than what I actually ordered. Really disappointed in the customer service, product and the amount of wait time.

While at Rolex, I purchased a TaggCode for my SO and I. I’ve been extremely happy with the TC, it’s nice that I can keep a copy of FEI passports, coggins, health certificate, etc on their database and pull it up from my phone. I’m sure there are other databases like that, but being someone who has a lot of chronic and severe health issues I love being able to keep my medical info with the horse info all in one thing. Plus I had it up and running within the hour I purchased it. Instant gratification is quite nice…

I’m definitely going to look into a RoadID, now.

My RoadID came 5 days after I ordered it.

I have a couple of Road IDs with different contacts that I wear based on whether or not my husband is in country or not. The one I am wearing now I have worn daily since he deployed (5 months), and it still looks like the day that I got it. I have never had an issue with any of my Road IDs and highly recommend them.
