Horseles Rider Weatherford TX

I have not ridden in about 7 years, I have been busy raising my kids and am anxious to get back in the saddle. I used to ride hunt seat, and dabbled in western a bit, but have no formal western training. I would love to ride a calm, safe horse to get the feel and the muscles back. Thanks.

Belleboyd, Please pm me and tell me more info about yourself-

Riderless OTTB 25 minute drive from DC

I broke my ankle (not related to riding my coming 5 year old TB mare) and now I’m on crutches for 2+ months. She’s still green but an easy, comfortable ride w/ an uphill build and is currently boarded at a dressage barn. Very sweet, not spooky, good trail horse and not even remotely marish. The facility has both an indoor and outdoor arena.

If there’s a relatively experienced rider who would like to get some saddle time near DC, I’d even be willing to pay for a few lessons.

Bay Area, California: Fun and SAFE dressage/jumping/trail gelding for long-term lease

I posted this a while ago (it’s also an ad on BAEN, obviously), found someone and now due to finances she needs to move on, so here we are again!

Beau, Gelding, Bay, Age: 17, 16.1H, 1000 lbs, Jockey Club, Foaled: 1993, GORGEOUS. E-mail me for photos and videos and I will send you URLs. Great horse, incredibly fun and responsive ride, versatile but excels in dressage and as a trail mount–nothing scares him! Has been ridden by kids on joyrides and adults in big name clinics, in the mountains of Montana, Briones Park, worked on cattle… you name it, he’s done it in style. Beau is a confidence builder, fancy moving and handsome, very calm and sensible, but not slow or boring. Gorgeous trot! Lease terms negotiable (1 day/wk for $100, 2 for $200, etc. OR full lease with no fees, you just take over his bills). I have a strong preference he stay at current barn in Martinez, but for the right full lease he could move. Lots of freedom–I am not a micromanaging owner, as I live 8000 miles away!

Riderless Arabian in Lexington, KY

I have a petite 14.2hh arabian cross gelding that is available for a free lease. He is a fun ride, spirited without being hot, a smidge spooky when trying to get out of work, but overall well-trained and easy to ride. He needs an intermediate or better, small (150 pounds or less) rider. He has done Training Level dressage, can jump (stadium or XC) up to 2’6", and is an excellent trail horse alone or in company. No buck, rear, kick, or bite. Would be ideal for a student who wants to ride but does not want to get real serious about showing. He does have an arthritic hock which is managed with oral supplements and a light rider. I recently aquired another horse and am finding that I do not have time to ride two! (In addition to being over his weight limit.) PM if interested.

Riderless Horse
4-year-old (5 in late May) Thoroughbred gelding. Currently 16 hands. Fancy and sensible, but green. Appropriate for the experienced/intermediate rider who is familiar with greenies. Currently kept at a facility with riding rings/jumps and lots of trails. Owner hasn’t been able to ride consistently due to lack of time. Please contact me for additional information. Thank you!
Hello,

I recently came across this post on the Riderless Horse/Horseless Rider thread. I realize it’s from early March, but I was curious if you have found a rider for him. I will be moving to Middleburg (horseless) in late May and would love to have something to ride.

I’ve been riding Hunter/Jumper horses for 10+ years now, have been on my university’s NCAA equestrian team, and have also worked for two trainers in Southern California. I have quite a bit of experience with greenies and young ones too.

Thanks!

Laura

Near Ocala, FL. Nice quiet family horses, I would love company to ride

I have been riding a little bit more, but would love company. I have several good TB horses, very quiet, have given lessons on them, I am not really a brave jumper, but several of them are supposed to be able to jump as well. Home all day, very flexible on riding in the ring, or away, if anybody is near and wants riding!

Catonsville/Ellicott City, MD - Riderless Horse

Hi,
I am looking for someone to help me exercise my quiet 15’3 27 year-old TB. I’m not home enough to ride anymore. He is in great shape and sound but looking for flatwork only. Requires an intermediate to advanced rider. Sensitive to aids - he is definately not deadsided!

Tack will be provided - english and western.
Farm has trails, outdoor rings and two indoors. Lessons and opportunity to show available.

Semi-Riderless Horse near Colorado Springs, CO

I have an older Morgan gelding that is currently half-leased so he is only being used a couple days a week. He is very trustworthy and has done a little bit of everything. I would really love for him to be ridden by someone who does dressage and would like to show but am not picky. He jumps and is completely sound. He is boarded a bit north of Colorado Springs. I am very flexible on this and really want to share him with someone so he can be enjoyed. He loves attention and work so I would love for someone to come have fun with him.

Please PM for details or with questions. I really am very flexible and would love to have someone come enjoy my horse.

Free Lease - Saratoga Cnty NY - 16H Gelding Dressage/Pleasure

My 14 year old, 16+hh, bay TB gelding needs a job! I have a green horse who is taking up all my time. He is located in Charlton NY (southwest of Saratoga) and I am offering him for a free lease. Leassee would be responsible for board, shoes, and minimal routine vetwork. He would love to do dressage or simply pleasure riding. He is sound, extremely handsome, and is a SOLID build for a thoroughbred. He is quiet and an intermediate ride. If you are interested please e-mail me at karbocus@gmail.com. Thanks!

Need a rider or trainer? Houston, Texas

I’ve been riding for years and only started training about 2 years ago. I train mostly western and on the ground kind of things, but know some english (from years ago!). I would do the work free, just to get my self the expierence and feedback from someone. I work on a ranch every summer training and selling horses but with college and my own OTTB in training, I cant make the drive out there anymore.

If anyone is interested in me working with or just exercising their horse, please PM me. I am taller, 5 7’, so a larger horse might be best riding wise.

Still horseless on Boston’s north shore

I’m a sane, largely-normal, edjumikated young professional living in Medford, MA and working about 20 miles up 93. I’ve been out of the saddle since September, but have 15 years of good huntseat lessons behind me. I have leased 2 work-in-progress TB mares and have more experience with the un-made than the made. I have also done some eventing and dressage, and I know how to tie a cinch. I’m not fussy, I’m just looking for a mutually-beneficial (coughinexpensivecough) arrangement. I’d be happy to groom and hand-walk a rehab, or do whatever. I am thoroughly out of shape. Just miss the smell of their fur and hay-breath. I can provide references, and will take recommendations on who I should be talking to.

Semi-riderless WB in Lexington, KY

I am posting this for a friend but can answer any questions!

7 year old WB mare used for H/J and low level eventing is looking for someone to free lease her. She is well trained, calm, and easy to ride. Very honest jumper, uncomplicated on the flat and hacks alone or in company. She must stay at current barn, however there is the potential to show her either H/J or eventing.

PM with questions or for contact info for owner. Thanks for looking!

Middle-aged achy rider in AL would love a nice quiet preferably gaited horse to ride occasionally. Need bombproof ride. Glad to help clean tack, throw hay (flakes), etc., in exchange.

Really just riding for unofficial therapy these days.

Horseless Rider in DC

Hi there! I am a college student living in DC for the summer looking for a summer/fall ride. In high school I was a C2 in Pony Club and competed novice level eventing/dressage. Since college, I have worked with OTTB training them for eventing/dressage. Please contact me if interested and if less than an hour from DC. Thanks!

Have Riderless Horse & Need Riding Buddy in Ashburn VA

I live near Ashburn, VA and am looking for someone who has time to come out on a regular basis during the week (not looking for a weekend rider please) and hack out with me and/or work in the ring. I have a super quiet and sensible horse for the right person and we have stellar trails. Looking for someone who is a seasoned horse person and responsible. When the hot weather hits we will be hacking out in the early am. There are opportunities to compete, trailer to lessons, schooling, etc., for the right person and if there is interest. Send me a PM if you are interested and are sincere about having the time.

OTTBs in Lexington, KY

I have 4 OTTBs near Hamburg and would like to find someone available to help me ride them on a regular basis. They are all very good to ride; no vices, but they are green. They need to work on basics like leads and bending. Therefore, I do need someone experienced with green horses. Adults only please. Farm has a grass riding ring and many fields to hack in. Opportunity to trailer to Masterson on weekends. PM me if interested.
