HORSELESS IN MONKTON, MD - possible free board

I’m an experienced small adult looking for a ride for a short term. I can provide free board at my place (mares only!) if someone is looking to get a horse legged up to sell/show or just needs one worked for a few months. Horse would have to be good on trails. I’m small enough to fit on a large pony and have h/j/racing background, and spoil my horses rotten! No horses with behavior issues, please, as I am mostly here by myself when I ride. I have board fencing, grass, a sand ring and a good barn.

I know this is a longshot, but I’d love to find someone small enough to exercise my small welsh pony. She’s pretty green but has yet to do anything bad, she just doesn’t know a whole lot. Not for a beginner. My petite trainer was riding her last year for me but she’s too busy right now to come out.

Pony is getting fat just standing around! She’s sound and needs some exercise. She’s around 11.1 and super cute. I got her as a companion for my old gelding-- I don’t have any kids and I’m too big for her. I have a fenced riding ring. I’d love to find an experienced small adult (around 100 lbs)-- maybe a petite college student? I’m in Goochland, VA and work FT so the rider would need to be available evenings and/or weekends.

I am mature mother of 2 who desperately wants to ride again. I horsesat for a coworker and have the bug to ride again. I have a crazy work and school schedule, but would like to pleasure ride once or twice a week when I can squeeze it in.

I have a BS in Equine Sciences and have experience riding huntseat, dressage and even saddleseat. I need a larger horse since I am a taller “fluffier” rider (thanks to having kids).

I am comfortable working with a green or out of shape horse, but no crazy horses please. Horse needs to be in Lexington since I have a very tight schedule and little spare time.

If some kind person has an extra horse getting fat out in the pasture and will let a horse crazy 30 year old woman ride again, I would be eternally grateful.

Professionally trained in Dressage with excellent basics, trail rides (nearly bombproof) , hunter paces. Lovely floating gaits and just a pleasure to ride. Great manners and temperment. Horseless Rider near Elgin, Ill.

I am a 19 year old college student who can’t seem to find work for the summer, so I would love to find a horse to keep me busy.

I am a decent rider and am going about 2’9 these days. I would love to find a confident horse that could move me to 3’ and up. I was going great until I started taking falls left and right, so my confidence is a little shot. I am looking for a horse who can teach me a few things.

I would be happy to work in exchange for riding, or do a free lease situation. I would be looking to take lessons at least once a week and riding as much as possible.

Event Horse - Green to Shows but In Solid Work - Midatlantic

Stats: 5 year old 15.3 h gelding. Push along type, very quiet but can have an opinion, and thus, needs a rider that can say “No!” (as well as “Yes!” when he gets it right!). Good to jumps - steady but brave and has a very ‘easy’ feel. Does a nice dressage test at training level.

Looking for the ‘right situation’ when Mom goes back to school in August.
Possibilities include:

1. Shareboard at a barn that works for owner and rider. Split costs as in normal shareboard.
2. Free lease to someone with a trainer. Must have regular trainer involved for this option. Owner would ask board and upkeep be taken care of, but would foot the ‘ownership’ bills of vet care.
3. Could be a good horse to take to a working student position. Owner could do some of the bills if the program requires.

Would like him to keep eventing. Rider who has time and experience to get him out and about could have some financial support to show (not a whole lot of extra $$ though!) from his owner.

Riderless Event Horse in Ocala.

Hello,

My 9 year old Trakehner mare has evented successfully at Training level in Canada in the past. She has taken the last year off to be a broodmare and I am not able to start riding her again as her foal is weaned this week due to a hip injury I suffered.

She’s 16.3hh, a lovely mover, great and bold jumper. Not much work since she was bred last year so out of shape right now. She has been bred again in March, so she’ll be available from now until November/December for riding.

Not for a very beginner rider, but sane and the sweetest mare I’ve ever met. Looking for someone to take the opportunity to ride and compete her(if you want) this year in exchange for boarding her. I’ll cover all vet/farrier, etc…

Horseless rider in Gainesville, FL

Hello!

I am a lower level event rider looking for something (anything!) to satisfy my horsey yearnings.

I just moved back home after being a working student for an event rider in Alabama. I decided to sell my mare before I left, to allow more money for college. It’s hard going from being around horses every day, to not getting to ride at all!

I thought I would give this a try to see if anyone has a horse that needs exercising a couple times a week. I am by no means the best rider out there, but I do consider myself competent and perhaps even decent! Especially after receiving wonderful coaching during my year as a working student.

I just miss getting to ride! I can’t afford to take on any sort of lease, but would love to find something to exercise.

I am willing to travel to Ocala, as well.

H/J Gelding Middleburg, VA area…

Looking for a potential half-lease on my H/J gelding. Just getting him back to work after some time off, but here’s what he is:

7 year old Trak/TB grey gelding, fancy mover, good jumper. 16.2 hands. Schooling up to 3’3 now, has done hunters but considering moving to jumpers. Soft mouth, sweet and kind.

What I am looking for:

Ideally, someone for a few days a week lease. flatwork only, can jump in a lesson environment only at this facility. Leasee welcome to take lessons. Would like someone who can ride during the week and its possible some weekend days too. I work full time.

Leasee must be an adult or very savvy teen. I’m looking for someone who can tack up, boot/polo wrap, and knows if horse needs vet etc. what to do. This person needs to be a quiet rider who has solid flatwork skills.

Facility is large, very convenient outside of middleburg with an indoor, 2 outdoors and all the amenities. Trainer is super.

I have a 18 yr old Paint gelding that needs someone to ride him a few days a week. Due to health issues, I am currently unable to ride him.
He has not been truly worked in over a year so will need someone who knows what they are doing. Advanced beginners and up only.
He has been trained for HUS, English Equitation, WP and does trail ride. Slightly spooky/flighty, and needs a firm but kind hand. Can supply all tack: two western saddles w/girths/bridles. Also have English saddle but will need girth/pad.

Looking for someone to exercise your horse or possibly show them?

I have ridden for the majority of my life but after some time off I decided to get back in the saddle last year. I currently take lessons once a week but would love more time in the saddle and to spend some time with yours while you are unable.

I would also like to add that during my junior riding/show career as a youth I was top of my class at all if the shows i did and I was either champion or reserve at all of the shows. However it has been some years but i was schooling up to the 3’6 hunter jumper and Equitation showed at A shows including 5 years of ribbons at the Hampton Classic .(also had some training in dressage). Riderless rescue OTTB kid safe in Clermont, Florida

16.3H “kid safe” 9yo TB mare needs a new home with TLC which I can provide, but I don’t have the time to work her to prepare her for her forever home so I am looking for at least an intermediate level rider who can volunteer their time to work her at least 3x a week, maybe more, as many times as you can.

11-year-old, 15.3hh APHA gelding with kissing spines needs to stay in work to keep his back healthy; I lack the energy to keep him in work due to chronic Lyme. He’s done everything from team sorting to dressage and jumping. He’s boarded at a lovely facility with a large Coverall-type arena and trails along the Minnesota River.
