Riderless Horses and Horseless Riders--matchmaking service!

GEORGIA: (Coweta County)

I have a 15 year old student who would love to have a horse of her own. Her Mom died last winter, and right now, her Dad isn’t doing well either. She is just the sweetest kid ever, and just wants to have a horse of her “own” to ride. She likes to show as well, but just at the local schooling shows, and 4-H shows. She’s rides hunters, so would want a horse to jump, but it doesn’t have to jump the moon, or be a 10 mover. She’s patient, and never complains, even though the horse she is currently riding (not at my barn) dumps her pretty much every day.

She needs something at least 15.2. I would call her an intermediate rider, though she doesn’t get intimidated, so even a little hot is OK. The horse would stay at Shady Creek - probably pasture board for now, but fed twice daily, and blanketed in the winter. It’s also OK if the horse needs some tuning up.

We’d really like to keep the costs down, so barefoot would be great.

Thanks!

I’ve been taking lessons for 6 years now andI’m looking for someone that needs a horse to be ridden. I’m looking for anything within 25 mins of Buffalo ,NY. I had ridden several green horses and ponies. Dealt with 13.1hh to 17.0hh. Please PM if you have something that may work. Thank you!

Riderless horse outside Nashville TN

9 yr old Holsteiner/TB Cross needs some help getting back into work - and staying there!

Roo has competed predominately in eventing at training level, though he has done dressage and the 4ft jumpers as well. He had some time off this spring after a minor injury and is now started back to work. I can only manage to ride him a few days a week with my job, but he is MUCH happier working 6-7 days/week. My ideal person would have some dressage background and enjoy hacking out as well. Needs a fairly experienced rider as he has the occasional spook.

Roo is located at my private barn 35 min SW of Nashville, off I40. We have lighted indoor and outdoor rings and 100 acres of trails. PM me for more information!

Nice TB in Charlotte NC

I have a nice 17H TB mare in Charlotte NC. I could use help getting her ridden a few days a week. She is literally the easiest horse in the world to get on and hack on long rein. I would think even a confident beginner would be fine to WTC in the ring. Easy to groom and tack up. She is very green and inconsistent over fences, but for a very good, quiet, confident rider she might be OK to jump.

The barn she is at is very nice- lit ring, nice trails, lessons available.

Ideally, this would be a free lease type situation where someone would contribute to her board and shoes.

Horseless Rider in Maryland

I’m a junior rider, not actually horseless but I want to spend my summer riding as many horses as I can and improving my skills. I am a jumper rider, small enough to ride ponies, and will ride green horses. Please let me know if you have any horses that need riding. Thanks

lovetojump2611, where in MD ar you located?

Anne Arundel County, in the Annapolis area.

Horseless H/J in Chicagoland

I just moved from Oklahoma to Chicago. I left my pro job and am sending my 3 year old for her 60 day training, thus I’m horseless!

Looking to find a few horses that need exercising/training in the Schaumburg, IL area or within 45 minutes. I have numerous years in showing/training hunter/jumpers and am comfortable with problem horses. I’m also small enough to ride most ponies.

I have a resume and photos on Yard and Groom. Please message me with any leads! I would appreciate it

Horseless Rider, Philadelphia PA

I just had to retire my mare so I am looking to pick up any available rides, as finances are tight right now. I have years of showing experience from HITS to WEF in the adult jumpers. I was also a rider/groom on the circuit for several years before college. I believe that flatwork is extremely important and have schooled at home in dressage. I have backed and started many well-bred youngsters and have ridden/re-trained many OTTBs. I am willing to travel up to an hour from Philadelphia and have availibility on the weekdays. Thanks!

Riderless Horse–NE PA

I have too many horses, not enough time, and I also had a non-horse related injury which means everyone has gotten out of shape. The horse for which I am looking for a rider is a cute little middle aged broodmare/ridingTB mare, not spooky, walks, trots, canters, jumped in the past but came to me to make a baby (now a yearling) so its been awhile, goes on trail. Snaffle and plain cavesson, well broke but not well educated if that makes sense. She does take someone who is tactful, but I would not hesitate to ride her near tractors, deer, dudes on mountain bikes, etc. In theory she is for sale although I’ve only word of mouthed her since the market sucks for small, middle aged TB mares with three nice foals on the ground and no real show records. If she sold while my horseless rider was working her I would give a percentage, but I am not planning on some sort of advertising campaign.

Horseless Rider – Germantown, MD

I just moved to the area to start an internship as a Veterinarian in Gaithersburg and am anxiously looking for a horse to school. I have years of experience working with hunter/jumper and lower level dressage horses. I was a riding instructor at Cornell for the past 6 years and was responsible for schooling lesson horses and training new additions to the string. I’d be happy to provide more information and references to anyone with a horse available. Thanks for reading

Looking for something to ride in NJ, especially southern NJ. Trying to get as much time in the saddle as I can. I have competed thru Second Level dressage and schooled thru Prelim eventing. Have worked with green and off the track horses. Will ride for free.

Riderless Horse in Houston, TX area!

I have an 18-yr-old gelding that needs a rider! I’m going to college in a couple months and need someone to lease him for a while. He’s very sweet and has done the jumpers but now would love to jump small stuff or have fun on trails. He loves people and especially kids! Right now he’s located 35-40 minutes north of houston and he can stay there but he can also be boarded somewhere else. Please pm me if you have an questions or know of anyone who might want him, I have tons of pictures also!

Riderless Sport Horse Prospect - Chattanooga, TN

Quattro, my 4 y/o Saddlebred sport horse, is in need of a rider. I no longer ride and trainer’s time is limited; he simply needs more hours.

Don’t let the word “Saddlebred” scare you off! There’s nothing psycho about Q. He’s a good thinker and very chillaxed (read: we occasionally need spurs. :D). He’s solid W-T-C, has been shown on the flat several times already & won, is just starting over fences and starting to learn the trails. Currently in training on a 300-acre farm with great trails and jumps. Lesson opportunities and showing opportunities at my expense for the right person.

Right person needs to be jr. or ammy who is solid and confident in the tack at 2’6" and looking to move up. Dressage riders or eventers are welcome too. We are focusing on correct flatwork for the rest of this year and haven’t really decided on a discipline for him yet. He’s built for dressage and I bought him to be my driving horse, but it’s looking like he’d much rather jump things for a living. Pic is in my profile; if you’re interested I can link you to video.

Thanks!

Los Angeles, CA - Sweet Gelding Needs Love

I have an 18 year old, 17 hand, thoroughbred that needs a mom. He’s super sweet but his owner has pretty much lost interest. She’ll be off to college soon but we need someone to lease him.

I’m looking for someone to take over his expenses (he lives in a two horse pasture so board is pretty inexpensive relatively for the area). We have great access to trails, a nice jumping arena and a good dressage court. Discounted lessons are available if someone takes over his expenses.

He can still do the 2’6", possibly 3’ if someone puts some work into him. He’s a ton of fun to ride, I just can’t take on one more horse at the moment.

He would be great for someone looking to get back in the saddle, or someone just starting off. He’s very gentle and kind.

Thanks in advance!

Riderless Horse in either Tampa, Gainesville, or Tallahassee, FL

1/2 lease with 3/4 lease priviledges available - Harwood, MD

Due to a job transfer last October that is almost a two hour drive from the barn, I am unable to ride my mare on a regular basis.

Opal is a very sweet mare, 16 years old, 16 hh, with excellent ground manners. She rides English and Western, prefers English, loves to jump (up to 4ft when in condition), and loves the trails. She’s a big girl, 1/2 appy, 1/4 Hano, 1/4 TB…but is built and looks like a Hano. Wonderfully smooth walk and trot. Unbalanced canter due to an old lateral injury, but it does improve with continuous work and with the help of bi-monthly chiro work. Her only vice is she can be spooky, but has greatly improved due to a lot of hard work on my end. She is snotty around horses she doesn’t know and does not like another horse on her butt (I’ve been working on these issues as well). Therefore she will need an advanced beginner, intermediate or advanced rider.

Very nice, 18 horse, non schooling barn (mostly adults and a couple of teenagers), with an indoor and outdoor arena, jumping field, access to hundreds of acres of trails and several on site trainers.

Because she is an easy keeper, to keep her exercised and in somewhat decent shape, she is currently being ridden by a high school girl 2x a week (no lease), my trainer once a week, and another rider once a week. She really needs to be ridden at least 5 days a week.

Half lease is $275 a month with 3/4 lease riding time. I would be the only other rider (except my instructor when I can’t make it to a lesson) and would work around your schedule (I need Tuesday evenings). I pay the usual fees (farrier, chiro, dental, etc). A liability waiver will be required.

If interested, please email me at blackopal3@verizon.net

2 Oldenburg Mares in Littleton, Colorado looking for dressage excercise rider

Two Oldenburg mares in Littleton, CO looking for an exercise rider. Must be intermediate-advanced with good flatwork. You would start off with the more experienced mare and work up to the other mare if your riding skills are up to it. Would prefer someone who is willing to take a lesson at least once a week with my dressage instructor. Flexible schedule and being a responsible, mature individual is a must.

Please email lauramiller11@gmail.com if you are interested.

Looking for Swap - My Mare for your H/J prospect (NJ/NY/PA)

I know this one is a long shot, but I’ve got a retired mare who is 25 yrs old. She’s about 16 hands, bay, sweet heart. She can be ridden lightly or used as an expensive lawnmower.

I’m just getting back into the H/J’s in the Pre-Adult Eq and Adult Medals. I can’t afford another horse while paying board on my mare.

Ideally looking to swap horses. I could see this working for a riderless horse that someone has at home that wants to see their horse worked but still wants horses in their back yard. Maybe you need a companion horse, my mare is excellent at that job too!

Your horse would be stabled in Bedminster, NJ area.
