Riderless Horses and Horseless Riders--matchmaking service!

Horseless Rider in Seattle

Hello. I am over 18+ years of age and short and lightweight. I am looking for a small horse or pony to exercise or show. Most of my riding experience has mainly from riding my own horses. I prefer to ride a horse that doesn’t buck, rear, bolt, spook every second. I enjoy trail riding, arena riding, and any horse discipline whether it’s western or english. Prefer to ride about 1 time a week. I do have a very limited area I can travel to because of gas costs. I haven’t rode in 6 months so I am rusty. But once a week would be great.

Easy commute from Frederick, MD as well

Large pony - Connemara gelding, super quiet, green but super quiet. Used in beginner lessons! No bad habits just doesn’t know much. W/T/C jumping.

For 1/2 lease - 17.0, hanoverian gelding. Pretty much a packer. W/T/C, jumps, auto lead change. Always in ribbons. Great equitation mount.

Lessons are also available!
Horse is no longer available, but large pony is desperately seeking a small adult/junior rider!!!

Talented and very fun pony needs small (or child) rider to show.

I have a nice welshx that is about 14h and is 4 years old. I have taken him on a hunters pace and just started jumping 2 weeks ago. I am looking for a small rider to hack and show.

I also have some other horses, various size and training, that could use more exercise. I live next to state park, so lots of trails and some jumps, and I also trailer out to various places.

Millwood, VA - Riderless horse - Free on farm lease OTTB

An acquaintence asked me to ask around for someone who would be willing to ride and train his beloved OTTB. He’s a racehorse enthusiast, although not a knowledgable horse person. He owns 4 TB race horses who train and race. The horse he’s looking for a rider for is a 6 year-old grandson of Secretariat - chestnut with gorgeous white socks. He’s strong and sound and is a “special kind of character”

He has him in a herd of 10 retired (and older) horses. He’s been there 7 months now and is fully let down from the rigors of a 4 year racing career. He’s happy but he’s too young to be retired.

“He’s not for sale at any price, but if you know of any riders who are looking for a quality thoroughbred for pleasure riding or to train him into a show horse or jumper, I’ve been told by quite a few knowledgeable show people that he has potential. Like I said, he’s not for sale, but for the right person with the right references, a long-term lease to just get him useful is available.”

I’ll send a link to his pics for anyone who is interested. He’s GORGEOUS.

Riderless Horse in Southern Louisiana

I know this is a longshot, considering my location, but I have a riderless horse here in Louisiana. He’s 19yrs old, has a great attitude and lots of spunk. Beau loves to be ridden and is very sweet. He’s a great trail horse, currently ridden western, but I doubt he would have any trouble switching to english. If you are interested, or know anyone who would be, send me a pm and I’ll be happy to give you more details. Thanks for reading!

I wish you were just a little bit closer!

Horseless rider in SC/GA

I live in Bluffton, SC but would be willing to drive for a chance to ride. I have 18 years riding experience, primarily hunters/jumpers. I have worked a great deal with tb’s including exercise riding. I have also put in a good deal of time working with horses to be trail safe or kid safe. I would love to have a project. Either a greenie needing some extra exercise or an injured mount needing rehabbing. I’m 5’2" and petite. I cab ride ponies and live them. I would be completely content just exercising a schoolmaster also.

I have a horse of my own but she is retired and I miss being in the saddle. I’m new to the area but have references from PA if needed.

17.1 hand cylde/tb dressage horse needing an intermediate to experienced rider 1-2 days a week. Showing 1st level training 2nd and 3rd level. Looking for a part-time lease to aid in boarding costs. Pm me for more info.
Still available. Just attended a Clinic with David deWespalaere (Grand Prix rider/instructor) in Rochester and was amazing. I really need someone who has 1-2 days a week to spend with him.

Horse time needed

I’m a 32 year old, petite woman who has no money for a lease but would be happy to put in some weekly hours for the chance to ride or simply keep up the horsey skills. I live in Delaware County, PA, not far from Devon.

(This is my first post on COTH, so I’m not sure how much info is needed!)

Riderless pony-- Goochland VA

I have a small pony that I’m too big to ride-- a petite adult would be fine on her (up to 120lbs). She’s green but pretty quiet, started over small jumps last year. If you’re experienced and small, you’re welcome to PM me and come try her. Not really interested in having kids out to ride her since that becomes more of a liability issue for me (she’s at my house).

My h/j trainer was riding her for me up until last fall but I’m getting a new horse and can’t really afford to pay her for riding the pony anymore. Pony is a really cute welsh and needs the exercise-- she gets too fat just standing around. I have a nice (but fairly small) fenced arena w/footing.

Still Looking?

(about 5’1) Ponies or horses are both fine. Comfortable on anything from 13’2-17hh or so. I’m OK with something somewhat green, as long as they’re sane and kind.

Horseless Rider - Bedminster & Watchung NJ

I’m a 30 year old advanced rider with Eventing (especially the cross country), Hunter and basic Western experience. I have independent seat, soft hands and am experienced with a double bridle.

I am strong enough to control a powerful and spirited mount. I used to pay for my showing by riding other people’s rehabilitating and “problem” horses, so I’m pretty bomb-proof.

I was most recently exercising Freisians for a breeder, and have a current small project of an OTTB one or two times a week which may end at any time. I am looking for a horse to work with jumping, and maybe a Hunter Pace? I am a photographer, so you’ll get some great pics out of me!

35 year old professional woman (5"7, 125lbs) is seeking an exercise/part board/part lease situation for the months of June and July at a barn near Boulder. I have been riding since the age of 9, evented until college, and owned a thoroughbred off the track for 13 years. Looking for a horse(s) to ride approx 3-4 days per week. Ideally would like to be able to take a weekly dressage and/or jumping lesson, as well as school/hack. Open to any ideas and suggestions. Thanks!S

Horseless rider, central NJ

Horseless graduate student re-rider in central NJ (Princeton area) looking for some saddle time. Have a background riding h/j and cross-country (exercising foxhunters in the summer). I’ve been riding off and on for 15-some years, but lately more “off” than “on” due to school, finances, geography, etc.

Are you one of the busy businesspeople around here who could really use a hand getting your horse enough exercise? Do you have an extra horse and want someone to keep you company while riding? I would be so very happy to help  Please email or PM if it sounds like we would be a good match!

Horseless Rider - Richmond, VA

I have my own but he’s currently on summer vacation (: I just want to something to ride on a consistent basis for the next couple months or help someone keep their horse fit. Not looking to show or jump, unless needed. I just would like to do some flat work and stay in shape. I’m not a professional rider, more like a proficient amateur.
