Riderless Horses and Horseless Riders--matchmaking service!

HORSELESS RIDER - DC/NORTHERN VA

Looking to ride around the DC/Manassas, VA area. I had to leave the farm I worked at when I became disabled and moved to Virginia a few months ago. My disability has had me cooped up in the house quite a bit, and in great need of some equine company. I miss being around horses and working with youngsters, and would love the chance to get out to the barn a few times a week.

I’m a very experienced rider. Years of training for clients, exercise riding, rehabilitating abused and neglected horses, teaching lessons, raising and starting babies, etc. I have mostly ridden english (eventing, dressage, hunting, trails), but have some experience with both western and driving. I can provide references if needed. Please PM me here if you have a pony needing another person to love on them!

Mandimai, I believe you and I exchanged emails today. Hope we can work something out!

cheers!

Horseless Rider Berkshires, MA (01245)

I am an experienced rider looking for a horse to ride 2-3 times per week. Most of my experience has been training green horses as hunters with some basic dressage, but I also learned to ride western a bit this past summer. I work from home, so would love to have a horse to ride a couple evenings a week (to get out of the house!), and maybe a day on the weekend. I am looking for a horse who has at least the basics, green is ok, but I have had too many offers to ride untrained/barely started horses around here who were passed off as “green”. I would absolutely love to find someone who has an extra horse and wants a hacking/trail riding partner (working from home means my schedule can be re-arranged to fit a ride in while its light out!).

If anyone had a horse they want ridden and/or someone to trail ride with who is not scared of cold weather, please let me know!

Sent you a PM.

Horseless rider in Walnut Creek California. Just looking for something sane to plunk around on 3 times a week!

HORSELESS RIDER NORTH DENVER,CO

I recently relocated to Broomfield from Florida and I am looking to keep myself riding until I am ready to find a project of my own. I have 21 years experience in the h/j world and have worked with everything from big eq and hunter derby horses to working a professionally trained western pleasure qh and turning him into a 2’6 hunter. I have also backed ponies.

Looking to ride 2-3 times a week, I live in Broomfield and work in Louisville-- so north side of Denver important.

Horseless Rider – DFW Area (TX)

I’m a horseless rider in Frisco, TX. I have about 15 years of riding experience. Did children’s jumpers but haven’t jumped in two years. Need a tall horse (I’m 5’11"). I can handle forward or young horses. Just need something to help me get back into riding shape. Looking to ride 3-4 times a week. I work in Garland, so horses between Frisco and Garland can also work. Thanks!

Horseless Rider in the SF Bay Area, CA

I recently relocated to San Francisco from Denmark, and am looking for a horse to ride a couple times a week.

I have level 2 riding instructor certification from Denmark, and have worked as an instructor since 2004. I have primarily worked with young/inexperienced horses and their riders, from green through 2nd level dressage and 3’ show jumping.

I have ridden 3rd level dressage and 4’ show jumping, and also done some cross-country jumping and field hunting. I have not ridden intensively or competed since I had a baby in 2009, so am currently out of shape and itching to get back into the saddle on a regular basis!

My absolute priority in a horse is that it have a good temperament.

I am based near GG Bridge so can drive either N, E or S. I’d like to ride daytime on weekdays.

Riderless Horses - Akron, Ohio

Just moved here and I work too much to ride a lot. Horses are in my backyard, flat, fenced area to ride -

20 year old ASB, goes in the arena or on trails we have around the house. Easy to manage in the arena, can be hot on the trail. Goes w/t/c easily, but is also 5 gaited.

16 year old Mustang. Went 1st level, out of shape, was DXed with heaves this summer in the south and was retired. She’s breathing better now that it’s winter and I’d like to get her back to riding some. Uncomplicated ride in the arena, does not trail ride alone, but does with the gelding. Mare also drives, but has a fused hock and driving and jumping are not recommended often.

Riderless horse - Chester County, PA

Wesley is a 10 year old warmblood cross available for in-barn half lease. Bay with chrome, 16.2 hands.

Lovely flat kneed mover, jumping 3’0 with changes. True pleasure horse, easy, uncomplicated, and can take a joke. More of a kick ride but has an adequate motor and a large stride. Does not need spurs or crop. Limited showing experience, but always places well at the Rated/CCHSA shows I have taken him to and behaves politely off-property. Ribbons in the hack and over fences. Wesley prefers a rider with soft hands.

If interested, please PM me for more information. Kindly provide a brief explanation of your riding experience/goals.

Horseless Rider - Winston-Salem, NC

I’m a horseless rider located in downtown Winston-Salem, I am willing to travel 20ish minutes or so to you. I am 24 and have been riding since I was a kid - I owned two TB’s that I competed in hunters and jumpers with - I had to sell them before college. I got back into riding again 2 years ago, I have been riding a nice belgian WB, but his owner has made the difficult decision to sell him so I will be horseless again soon! I work full-time so my availability is after 5 during the week and weekends, would be able to ride 2-3x a week. Would love to be at a place where I can take occasional lessons as well, but not imperative!

Please email if you need an advanced adult rider!

Riderless Horses near Commerce/Athens, GA

I have a few horses who need to be put back into work. Nothing suitable for a beginner. A couple of really nice WB mares coming back from having babies, a TB gelding who needs to be brought back slowly after an injury, a 15h Arabian cross who is ready to do whatever you want!

Lovely PSG level (scores in mid-60s) 1995 17.2 Gelding on Long Island, NY looking for a on-farm weekday half-lease. Older gentleman, always the farm favorite. Flat only, perfect for a lower level dressage rider wanting to learn some of the upper level movements.

Looking for someone to cover half of his expenses.

PM for more information.

riderless horse, MA/CT/RI border

I’m going to take the plunge and put this out there

I have a 5 yr old OTTB gelding. he’s been off the track since Nov 2011. He is the quietest horse I’ve ever dealt with, OTTB or other wise.

was hoping to put him in re training last spring, but family health issues prevented it, so he’s been sitting, with the exception of an occasional trail ride or a hop on and w/t for 20 mins or so.

I’m looking for someone who might be looking for a bit of a project. currently is @ home with us, we have a small round pen, but I’m willing to board him if you are able to help somewhat with costs.

please pm me if you’re close and would like to see if you’d be a match! thanks in advance

Riderless Hores - NW Minneapolis Suburbs

Due to a torn tendon, I will be out of the saddle for a bit. I’m looking for someone who would be interested in riding/working with my 3 horses on a short term arrangement (length of time tbd based on healing time).

All three are Thoroughbreds – 15 year old mare – dressage and jumps, 13 year old gelding – dressage, and 7 year old mare (no riding, but possibly hand walking and lunging). All three horses are at the same facility, northwest of Minneapolis, which does have an indoor arena. I would be willing to work out a partial lease situation for the right person once I’m able to get back in the saddle.

Please PM me for additional information.

Riderless (sort of) Horse in Northern Virginia

I have a cute little mare who is coming back after an injury and I need some help getting her back in shape.

Right now it’s just walking and trotting, but as she gets more fit you can progress to full work.

She’s an 18 year old 15.2 TB/QH and is a very easy, quiet ride. She’s mostly done hunters, although we are still up in the air over whether she’ll jump again. Right now she’s huffing and puffing a bit with work since she’s been off for so long, but is a blast to ride once she’s fit.

She’s in Lovettsville at a place with an indoor, so you can pretty much ride any time. I’d like someone to committ to at least 2 days a week - that can include one weekend day if you want. And if you like her and want to ride more often, that is fine too.

I prefer someone at least 18 years old and an intermediate rider. This isn’t because she’s hard to ride (she’s easy!), but because I want her fitness built up correctly - and you’re going to need a strong leg at the beginning.

Let me know if you’re interested. She’s a doll and my barn is fantastic - I promise you will love her!

Riderless Horse - Commerce, GA

Looking for someone to hack a 17 hd. gelding 2-3 times a week, weekends are okay too. Lighted arena available. Friendly family barn atmosphere.

Horse is out of shape and needs to be legged back up. Prefer a rider with an English background. Light hands are a MUST. Horse is a big sweetie but will test his rider (no buck or rear). Tends to be lazy and want to fall behind the leg when out of shape. Needs a firm/confident person in the saddle. Complete puppy dog on the ground. He’s not naughty but his size can intimidate some people and he will take his cues from you. If you’re terrified of scary things in the woods he’ll spook at them, if you’re calm and relaxed he’s unflappable. Tack can be provided. National show experience and titles. Fox hunting experience. Pretty been there done that guy. Fine with me if you want to use western tack occasionally, I would just prefer his training have an English feel. Possibility of showing in the future is open. Jumping is allowed and encouraged after some time spent rebuilding muscle on the flat but isn’t required. Access to nearby trails and hills from the farm.

There is no pay for this position but no work required in exchange other than basic care of the horse before and after riding. Would prefer someone who can maintain a set schedule. May consider a lease option if all goes well.

Please include your previous experience. Horse is NOT suitable for a beginner or timid rider and may or may not work for a man due to early improper training. Relocation of the horse to another approved barn would be considered if all goes well initially.

Horseless (sort of) rider Eugene, OR

Looking for a horse to ride a few days per week. Anything from a come to your place and ride situation to a part or full lease.

Right now I have one mare who is still recovering from an injury in August and will be bred in March, and one mare that is retired.

I’m not picky about age, breed or discipline, but sanity is a must.

Bump…
Arriving in Florida next weekend and would be more than happy to find any situation which would give me a chance to ride…
I have a very nice offer already, but it is a little out of the way.
I´m looking around the South Tampa area.

Horseless Rider in Baltimore, MD
