Riderless horse in Augusta, GA - Great ride!

Looking for a rider for my very large, 7yo thoroughbred (he looks and acts more like a WB). I’m in the later stages of pregnancy and would like to keep him in work while I am riding less. (you can see a photo of my boy by clicking my account name)

This is a very specific situation with definite parameters. I’m looking for a (truly) intermediate level rider who is interested in working with a talented horse. I started him late and when I slowed down our training program we were solid at training level in dressage and moving forward quickly, and riding Novice level courses. I’m looking for someone who is willing to ride him 2-4x per week on property. These are the basic terms but if I found the right person I would be willing to explore showing opportunities, etc.

This situation would be ideal for a rider currently without a horse who is looking to expand their skills without a financial commitment. This horse is a fantastic ride who is willing, easy, and loved by every professional who has worked with him. Moreover, he is talented and is a great horse to compete on.

Finding the right person would benefit me because my horse would at the very least maintain, and possibly move forward in his training. I am not looking for someone to casually trail ride or use my horse to work on their basic skills. I’m looking for someone with at the very least a functional riding style or some amount of formal education.

Horseless Rider in Birmingham, AL

I am a college student in Birmingham with 15 years of experience riding hunters and jumpers. I can ride pretty much anything- I’m 5’2 and 100 lb so that includes ponies. Before leaving for college I showed my hunter in Children’s and schooled 3’6 at home; would’ve moved up to Juniors but we were selling my guy and wanted him to remain eligible for first year green. This summer I worked for a trainer back at home and was able to ride a variety of green and seasoned hunters and jumpers. When I’m home a friend graciously lets me ride her foxhunters, but I’d love to find something to ride when I’m at school, too. I can provide references if needed. Due to my daughter’s new job I am looking for an experienced amateur jumper rider to ride my Holsteiner Mare. She needs to be ridden at least 4 days/week. I will pay for 2 lessons per month with a great trainer in this area. You can show her at the A shows if you want - she is a high performance jumper but has had time off from the show world (not the excercise world) since my daughter finished school and started work. I would like to see her show at the Adult Jumpers to start (and she has done that). She has a few years of shows behind her and at 10 years old she has obviously not been pounded. This is like a free lease on a six figure horse. I have a private barn with an all weather footing riding arena. All her tack is custom and all you need is your riding apparel. I have been riding since I was young, rode for several years as groom/manager for a 4* rider back east have done dressage, hunters, jumpers and training. I no longer own because I was involved and still am on the other side of the industry and have moved around or been traveling .Im currently a Sales Rep for a major riding brand! Im looking for someone who has a horse or horses that need some extra time under saddle that they just dont have time for. I know it can be quite scary to let some random person hop on your baby. 2 Horses Allentown NJ

I have 2 horses boarded in Allentown NJ about 15 mins from Horse Park of NJ.
Looking to free half lease one of them at the farm. Free half lease means ride 1/2 time and pay 1/2 expenses, no lease fee.
Horse is 16.2 hand holsteiner/TB cross…great work ethic doing training level 3 schooling 1st. Quiet,not spooky but sensitive to the aids so needs intermediate rider opportunity to show if you choose to. He also likes to hack out around the farm.

7 yo Haflinger Gelding in Greensboro, NC

Tolkien is a really stocky Haflinger gelding - he’s a great horse, just stubborn. Had lots of groundwork done with him, he can be lunged, he’s been ridden in lots of lessons but was gate sour. Gate sour has pretty much been fixed. Has been jumped up to 2’6", had the potential to go higher. Has auto leads both directions. Very out of shape and needs a LOT more work than I have time to give.

I’m very busy with a lesson program and book marketing, plus working on writing my second book, so I just dont’ have time to work with him.

I do want an experienced rider that can actually work with him and not ruin all the training that I’ve done with him - he just needs more work than I have time to give. I don’t have any students currently schooling at a high enough level to work with him - most of my students are beginner/intermediate, and not experienced enough to assist in horse training/exercising to actually make a difference in the horse. Most of them are young teenagers that just want to run and jump and goof off, and dont’ want to take the time to work with a horse that actually needs some help to do things correctly.

Looking to ride around the DC/Manassas, VA area. I had to leave the farm I worked at when I moved to Virginia a few months ago. I have been cooped up in the house quite a bit, and in great need of some equine company. I miss being around horses and working with youngsters, and would love the chance to get out to the barn a few times a week.

I’m a very experienced rider. Horseless rider- Lexington, KY area

Hey everyone! Thought I would get a head start on this, but I more than likely will be interning down in Versailles, KY this summer, 2013 (May-August). I will be leaving my horse at home for the 3 months and am basically just looking for free rides on whatever I can find. I’m experienced with OTTBs, young/green horses, dressage, jumpers, hunters, and eventing. I’m around 5’4" and 125 lb. with short legs and can easily fit the ponies. I’ve schooled through 2nd dressage with my own horse and some 3rd level stuff with others. I’ve jumped up to 3’9" and schooled some prelim xc. Would prefer something that has the ability to jump or has jumped. Willing to work with stubborn/naughty horses, but nothing considered “dangerous” as I do have my own horse back home. 16yo, 16h Appendix gelding in NC

Going on trial Friday 3/30

Gus is a 16yo, 16H Appendix who has competed in eventing, hunters, gone on hunter paces, and hacks out alone and is offered for free lease or sale. He has been leased out for the last year due to owner’s health situation. His first leaser was a 12yo beginner rider whom he carted around like a superstar. Gus spent the fall/winter at a local therapeutic riding farm and also in regular NH/Parelli training. Prior to being leased, he was gearing up for his first full season of eventing and jumping around like a rockstar. He would happily do hunters (has changes, hunter movement), but is a blast XC. Still a bit green, but dead honest over fences with truly minimal encouragement from rider. 3’+ rides no different than 2’ but mom is a chicken so fences usually stayed low.

Needs show miles and some fine tuning, but would make someone a fun project/show mount. Because he’s not been ridden this winter, he’ll understandably need some time to get back in shape and likely a training ride to remind him where to put his feet. He is a moderate keeper, sound on no joint maintenance, and can be stall or pasture boarded. Low horse on totem pole with excellent ground manners–stands for farrier, vet, teeth without drugs, bathing, deworming, etc. No cribbing, kicking, biting, etc. but he will occasionally throw the most unathletic buck you’ve ever sat. Gus is current on vaccines, farrier, teeth.

I’m open to private homes or lesson programs.
