Riderless Horses and Horseless Riders--matchmaking service!

Horseless rider - northern VA

I’m looking for an on site 1/2 lease large pony or horse for an adv. beginner rider with confidence issues. Rider is an adult who rides English and/or western. I can travel up to 20 miles from the Manassas/Woodbridge boarder. Will consider lessons.

I can help with barn chores in exchange for riding

Riderless Horses - Montgomery County, MD

Therapeutic riding center in Boyds, MD looking for riders to keep therapy horses tuned up. Ideally riders would be able to ride twice a week, at least one of those rides being on a weekday. Indoor, outdoor with lights, mowed grass “arena” and paths for hacking.

  1. 16.1hh draftX regaining fitness after a long layoff. Very quiet, push ride, hacks out alone, etc. Walk/trot only at present, will add canter as fitness allows.

  2. 14.3hh QH. Prefers a hunter-type ride, push ride in the ring. Does best with a confident rider when hacking out alone.

  3. 15.1 Arab. Pleasantly forward in the ring, polite hacking out. Prefers riders with shorter torsos.

Horseless adult rider looking for a reasonable half-lease. Kid/stay-home-Mom/part-time consulting work schedule means I’m only able to ride two to three times at most, Mon-Friday/weekdays only, and I have to stay within a 10 to 20 mile radius of zip code 20120 (Centreville, Virginia). Perhaps beneficial for someone who works full-time and has a horse that could use some work during the week? Or, someone who needs a half-lease to help with their board, expenses, etc.? Please message me with any leads. I’m not competing, nor am I able to own/full lease at the moment, but want to keep my foot in the stirrup. Just interested in consistent basic flatwork, ammie/novice jumping, love working with ground poles, grids, gymnastics. The basics. Thanks!

Horseless Rider in Columbus, Ohio

I am a horseless rider in the Columbus, OH area! I have seven years of experience in hunters/equitation, but am interested in anything equine. I would love a riding situation, but would also be happy just loving on some horses. Would be potentially interested in grooming/feeding/light mucking in exchange for rides! I am willing to travel reasonable distances so please PM me if you are interested!

What do you mean by “on site”?

What kind of “confidence issues”?

Horseless rider in San Francisco/East Bay/Bay Area

Starting to save to buy a house, so my riding budget is taking a hit. Looking for any riding situation where I can ride for less than it costs to own/lease here in the Bay Area, ideally 1-2 times a week. I know I can take lessons for less than it costs to lease, but most trainers don’t have lesson horses at my level.

Grew up as an eventer, but have been training with show jumpers for the past few years. Comfortable riding most types of horses, currently jumping courses in the 3’3-3’6 range. I don’t need to show, but I would like to continue jumping. Used to train lots of greenies, still happy to do so as long as they are safe. I am only 5’2 so horses and ponies of most sizes could work.

Happy to provide more info about me if you need it! Thanks!

Fancy Young Hunter Mare Available For Low Cost Lease in SE PA

Hello,

I am searching for a half or part lessor for my 16.1h dark grey 4yo AWS mare. Grace has been for sale due to family medical bills but as I have gotten through the worst of it and she is progressing so well, I would like to perhaps lessen the expenses and continue to bring her along.

Grace is a friendly, smart, and talented mare. She is a beautiful mover with a great square jump. She was broke as a 3yo last year and had a good portion of the fall and winter off, and started in a regular program with me in February. She absorbs instruction like a sponge! She is currently w/t/c, leg yields, works on the bit, and jumps courses up to 2’6". She has jumped higher and shows plenty of scope for the 3’-3’6" in the future, and is not at all intimidated by fence height, but we keep jump work light due to her age. She started lead changes last week and understands the concept very well, and wants to do them! She gets them clean almost almost every time when asked, however they are not auto yet as she has just started them and could use more conditioning in her hind end. She does not have a buck/rear/spook and is a good worker in the ring. On Sunday she competed in the Baby Green and Novice Hunter divisions in full classes of 11 and got good ribbons and was Reserve Champion in the Novice Division. This was her 4th ever show and 2nd show over fences.

I would like to find a reliable adult or older teen who would like to part or half lease 2-3 rides per week. While she is a great young horse I still ask that the lessee have previous green horse experience. She is boarded at a nice facility in Glenmoore, PA with access to an indoor and outdoor ring and great trainer. I would encourage the rider to take lessons and showing opportunities may be available to the right candidate. I have plenty of photos and video if anyone is interested.

TY!

Horseless Rider, north of Pittsburgh, PA

Just sold my dressage horse to the right person at the right time but I am now without a steady ride. Experienced rider, but not looking to ride real greenies at my age. I am available a few mornings each week if you have a horse who needs regular work.
Thanks.

Horseless Rider in Columbia, SC

I’m an advanced beginner rider looking to ride during the school year. I took dressage lessons previously until my school schedule interfered with them. I don’t jump, just flatwork (although I’d love to learn!)

Looking for a fairly easy ride, a ‘been-there-done-that’ type who needs some TLC or light riding during the week. Trail riding, exercise riding, low/stretchy riding, you name it!

I can travel anywhere 30ish minutes outside of Columbia: Lexington, Winnsboro, Northeast Cola, West Columbia, etc.

This is a long shot but maybe it’s worth a shot!

Horseless rider

Hey all!
I’m moving down to Centreville, Virginia this weekend leaving my TB Mare in Pennsylvania for a month of so with a friend until she sells or I decide to bring her down. Looking for barn to ride at or maybe some catch rides while I’m down there. Possibly looking for a barn to board her at if I do decide to bring her down too. Not looking to spend over 550/month.
I have evented up to the Training level and schooled Preliminary with my mare. Have gone through the hunter/jumper circuit for a short period of time as well.
If anyone can shoot me some places within 45 mins from Centreville, VA that would be great! =]

Thanks!

RIDERLESS HORSES in Western Washington (near Redmond)

I have two young horses coming out of training at the end of the month. I had hoped to sell them before the fall but that is getting less likely. I would love to have someone ride them regularly or occasionally over the fall and winter. I am open to all sorts of arrangements. The only thing I don’t have is a great place to ride at the farm – but I am only a couple of miles from a public arena/roundpen with trail access, and I’d be willing to haul. Also open to free leasing. As I said, suggest anything and I’ll at least consider it!

Both horses are registered Paints.

HAYLEY (Sonny’s Baby Grand) is 5 years old, dun tobiano, PONY-SIZED, not sure of her height but I doubt she reached 14hh. But she is not delicate, and I’m sure she could be ridden by any normal adult. She is not ready to be a kid’s dead-broke pony though. She needs more miles and confidence. Solid WTC, has been shown walk-trot, has been trail-ridden. She would probably love western games/barrels with the right intro (which isn’t going to be me!). She has had 120 days training plus an additional 90 days boarded at the trainer’s so she could be used for trail riding and lessons as time allowed.

PHOEBE (Runs In Her Stockings) is 4 years old. She will have had 120 days training or maybe it’s even 150 now – I left her in one more month to be started on cows. She is probably 14.2, very VERY cowy in build. Great temperament, no attitude. Solid gaits, easy to rate. She has NOT had trail experience.

Edited to add pictures. Hayley is the pinto, Phoebe is the solid chestnut.

Riderless horses- Northern Kentucky

I have 3 amazing horses 2 gelding with lots of eventing miles(1 up to prelim and 1 up to training) both older but lots of years left and 1 mare good for 4-h 19 years old.
Not looking for a lease as I want them to stay on my farm, would be able to show them as well.

HorseLESS Rider in Western MA

Recently returned to Area One due to family circumstances and currently horseless. Experienced horseperson, owned and kept horses at home my entire life, managed small farm, schooling prelim and currently riding with fantastic trainer. I have plenty of local references from trainers, BO/BM, vets, farriers, etc who will all attest I am a capable and confident rider who will offer thoughtful, considerate training and the best of care. I have secured a stall at a western MA farm in the five college area (UMASS, Smith, Mt Holyoke) with an indoor and would love to find a horse that could benefit from a consistent training schedule (5-6 days), lots of attention and enjoy outings for XC, clinics, etc.

Please feel free to PM me (all gets forwarded to my email) with any questions or leads, thanks in advance all!

Horseless Rider in Nashville, TN

Hello!

I am a 25 year-old female in Nashville, TN. I have ridden horses my whole life until I moved here two years ago. I am originally from Massachusetts and rode hunters/equitation. I have a very flexible schedule and would love to get back into riding. Ideally I would be interested in half or full leasing a horse I could take lessons on, show and trail ride. But I would be happy with just a horse I could spend time with! I would be willing to drive about 20 miles or so. I am looking forward to hearing from you!

Thank you!
Carling

Mustang for half lease or more in AL

My husband’s cute tiger dun mustang needs some attention. He rarely rides and Tigger really needs some love. Barn is surrounded by nice roads and trails, very close to National Forest in Tuskegee Alabama. He is 4 years old, very smart (almost too smart). Once he is in a routine he is great. He likes to jump things on the trail, was used for a year in CO to do barrels and light cow work. I ride my own horse quite a bit, so we could ride together, or you can ride whenever.

Riderless Horse For Free Offsite Lease in VA

Available for offsite free lease immediately! Current rider left for college and she needs a job. Noelle is a super easy welsh pony standing at 13.2hh and 6 years old. Ellie has been started wtc and over small fences she picks up the correct leads and has started to attempt flying changes when she lands wrong from a fence so auto changes will be no problem with some work. She is an easy woah easy go kinda gal who appreciates a soft rider. She is still green so an advanced rider is best but with more miles she could wind up being an awesome kids pony. Super quick learner who retains all of her lessons. Stands for farrier, vet, and is utd on everything. She would really thrive with consistency or a lesson program. This girl really has potential and I hate to see her just sit! Feel free to PM or post for more pics/ videos or with questions. Located in Montpelier VA
