Riderless Horses and Horseless Riders--matchmaking service!

Searching for a rider, Mid-Michigan.

I have a 17hh warmblood gelding that I am unable to ride as much as I’d like due to school and work. He primarily does dressage with some jumping. There is a large indoor, an outdoor, as well as trails and large hay fields to ride around. There are many trainers available for lessons or a rider may bring their own. Please message me with any questions or for more information.

Horseless rider, near Boston.

I have recently moved to the area and am hoping to find some opportunities to ride 1 to 3 times a week.

I have extensive experience in the hunter/jumper world and have done a little dressage (although I am rusty). I have ridden a lot of sales horses and green horses and worked for a breeding farm in upstate New York. I also ran my own lesson business for a time and am very knowledgeable regarding horse care/management. However, it has been a long time since I was able to ride regularly (I have a small child) and as such, I am really open to anything that gets me some more saddle time in order to get riding fit again. I would feel most comfortable doing hunter/jumpers or dressage. An opportunity to take lessons would be a plus but not essential. I am located in Arlington and am willing to drive 30 to 40 minutes (which I may be able to do during non-rush hour times also, apologies for not being more specific about where I can get to - I do not know the regional geography yet).

Thank you!

Horseless rider in Northern Ohio

I’m a 27 year old intermediate dressage/eventing rider who’s looking for an affordable half-lease or other riding opportunity. I’ve got a full-time job, but I have time to ride at least 3x a week and I’m willing to do some work around the barn to offset costs if that’s desired. I’m in northern Ohio, and somewhere between Cleveland and Sandusky would be ideal, although I’m willing to drive a bit either way if I need to.

A bit about me: about three months ago I began riding again after a long break. Prior to that I rode on a weekly-to-daily basis for 7 years, and have owned and leased horses in the past. I’ve shown through first level dressage, and competed in low-level events as a kid. I currently take weekly lessons on a school horse. I’d be happy exercising your horse(s), or working with a single horse on a half lease (I’m open to showing down the road), or pretty much any situation that gets me more time in the saddle. I’m not afraid to work with some problem behaviors, but I’d prefer not to work with horses that are known buckers/rearers.

Please contact me via private message here if you have a horse (or horses!) that might fit the bill.

RIDERLESS HORSE - Central Florida, nw of Orlando, not as far as Ocala.

Mare with some health challenges that prevent her from returning to upper level dressage career. Warmblood, quiet, not much trail experience but would likely be fine with some effort. Preference would be a full or partial lease (board only) at our barn.

PM me if any interest.

Riderless Horse- Oxford PA

Looking for a rider for my quality hunter prospect. Grace is a 4yo American Warmblood Society registered dark grey mare just under 16.2h currently doing Baby Green division successfully, and coming along well with her changes. She was Reserve and Champion at her last two shows this summer. She is friendly and sweet, and not marish. Easy to handle on the ground, no buck/spook/rear, brave to the jumps great square jump, quiet spur ride on the flat, pretty mover, hacks out alone or in company, fun to trail ride. She is not a wiggly, distracted baby. She leg yields, works on the bit, and has an excellent work ethic in the tack. Not pushy, no bite, no kick. Body clipped her myself no drugs, stood perfectly.

She is currently boarded at a lovely facility with all the amenities you could want for winter riding! Lighted outdoor and nice indoor. Quality trainer available offering lessons and show opportunities everything from local/IEA programs, CCHSA, and rated shows with kids qualifying for Pony Finals and Washington this year.

Free half lease also considered to the right candidate.

ISO: free off farm lease in MA. 3’+ horse. Green is OK. Talented rider at an exceptional facility with great care. References available.

Available Horse - Kansas city area

Older OTTB mare needs to be kept in consistent work, and I don’t have much time at the moment.

Needs solid intermediate rider (who doesn’t buy into mare drama), but is safe and the “I won’t do it right until you ask right” type. Barn has covered arena, and tons of trails. No jumping. Has done lots of dressage work in the past, but she’d much rather just tool around and play, but could show training at the moment/first with a few months of consistent riding. No trainer at the barn, but several local big names visit regularly. (lessons with owner to start)

available 3-4 days a week, with rider paying trim/small feed costs.

Kentucky

Riderless horses ky. For on or off site lease. 1-2 bay geldings. Well loved and well mannered guys. Do not need to be together. Older one has been about everywhere and conditioned for endurance with lots and lots of trail and highway miles. Younger one has had more ring work and less trail miles but has still had a decent amount of miles. 25 miles from Central City, Ky or 40 miles from Bowling Green, Ky.

TUCSON AZ

RIDERLESS HORSE FOR TRAIL RIDING . LOCATED NEXT TO CATALINA STATE PARK. Thoroughbred mare needs experienced rider with a fair amount of gumption and a high stickyness factor.
A good experienced rider will love her;)… a inexperienced rider who thinks they can ride will definitely not.
Won’t be riding alone until vetted and riding company is usually available. Location is great with many trails. Too many horses and I’m not selling any of them cos it’s a mean old world.

Horseless Rider Near Portland, Oregon

Been riding for about 15 years. English pleasure and dressage. Two years ago, I purchased a 4H mare and worked with some excellent classical dressage trainers and really brought this little horse along quickly. I recently sold her to focus more on my very busy 6-year-old and a new job. But I live to ride and even just a few times a month would be wonderful.

I’m 5’6 and fairly petite. I’m a quiet rider and lean towards a gentle approach and light aids. Would prefer arena work over trail riding.

Horseless Rider - Maryland

Former novice-level eventer, currently taking lessons and getting back into eventing after several-year hiatus.

Rider stats: 5’6", 130lb

Horseless Rider BURLINGTON, VERMONT

Poor college freshman without a car looking to do any work in exchange for riding. I have over 4 years riding and barn staff experience. I work and rode at a 20 horse barn at least 4 days/week all of high school. I worked off every lesson and lease so I could ride. I can do anything from regular barn chores, to turn-in, basic first aid, grooming, tacking, show groom, teaching beginner/ beginner intermediate lessons as well as instructor assistant. My heart goes out to the ponies, but i would be willing to ride most types of horses. I am 5’1 and 95 lbs so i can sit on just about anything. I am a quiet but effective rider looking for a fun mount (preferably under 16 hands) to do arena work, possibly jumping and trails if they enjoy it. I have done both hunters and dressage. I would we looking for a horse to ride from January through May and September through November while I am at school at the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont.

Horseless Rider in Pomona, CA

I am a 23 y/o vet student at Western University in Pomona hoping to get more saddle time. I have been riding for 7 years with a mostly H/J background, but I did take dressage lessons during the school year in undergrad for 3 years. I have shown for about 4 years. I have ridden a large variety of horses, including greenies, older horses with training gaps, hotter horses, etc. Most recently, last year I leased a very green OTTB for about 8 months and had him successfully showing locally before he sold.

I am unfortunately very broke due to school and weekly lessons, but I am willing to do some work on weekends or Monday afternoons in exchange for rides. I have a great deal of my own tack as well (mostly full-sized stuff). If anybody has a horse that just needs miles I would love the opportunity  Looking to stay close to Pomona, so Chino Hills/Norco/etc area.

Horseless in Houston

Hi all,

I work in the offshore industry and because of it gave my riding horse away a little over a year ago. I just didn’t have time for him. It wasn’t fair for him and wasn’t fun for me.

But I miss horses, so…

Does anybody in the area have a retiree who likes attention and wants more? Grooming, hand-walking, maybe a carrot or two. My work commitments are still very large so I’m not looking for a riding horse. Just fuss over a willing fuss-ee and keep my basic horse skills up. Tails might be braided.

Experienced rider, experienced horseperson, can provide references.
