riderless horses and horseless riders?

Is the thread still around and I am missing it? Otherwise would like to start off once again.

Endless novice in northern NJ looking to trail ride a few times a week. I have back problems so need eventempered smooth gaited horse.
Searched madly to find partial lease on gaited horse but not only didn’t find one, money issues may crop up. I’ll know more in a few weeks.

The shorter the drive from Newark NJ area the better off I am. Driving harder on me that riding.

Barbara, aging and horseless

Barbara,

Good to hear from you!

Horseless rider in Southern Ontario, east of Toronto. Have ridden for almost 16 years, evented, some h/j school shows, lots of trails. Looking for something to putter around on, do trails, some ring work - low jumps would be nice too!

I think that disappeared as well! Looked for it a few days ago and got NADA. I hope this one can stick around!

I have a horse who is going 3rd level in dressage in FL right outside of Ocala that needs a new rider. PM me for details.

Horseless in Alberta, Canada ( Calgary area). Mainly western but have done some limited english. Was a trail ride guide for 2 seasons in the rockies and ridden for 8 years or so but nothing since october.

Hope there’s something out there for me

P.

Will be horseless rider & barnless soul in Northern Baltimore County for June and July. (I am going home on vacation and will be leaving my horse here.)
Have been riding jumpers now for 3 years, but before that mostly hunters. I really love flat work also.

Would love to do any riding/helping out this summer. More than willing to labor for riding privledges.

Ponies need riders

I’ve got 2 ponies on my farm that would love riders. I am too busy with work, young baby and another horse going. One is a 13.2 black Morganx that is absolutely adorable and athletic and can easily carry an adult up to about 5’4 or 5’5". Super fun dressage/event type pony. The other is a 12h leadline/short stirrup pony, most precious thing you’ve ever seen. She’d be happy to just have a kid come groom and love on her. I’m in Lovettsville, VA.

Riderless horses

I have:

16h 4yo homebred TB gelding. Started u/s. W/T/C quietly. Lazy over cross rails! Green- but very honest and in your pocket.

16.2h 5yo Imported ISH grey gelding. Started u/s and o/f. Schooled to 5’ with ease. for sale but needs ridden first. ugh.

17.3h 12yo Holsteiner/Oldenburg mare. Level 4/5 Jumper. Had winter off. for sale, but needs ridden first. ugh.

2-2yos that need backing. Easy to handle and in your pocket. ISH and TB.

Located in Delaware 19709.

horseless rider Northern NJ

glad to re-start this thread. hello to one and all.

Riderless pony and horse

15.3 TB gelding 20 yrs., needs to be brought out of retirement, steady in the ring, anxious on the trail

14.0 stocky grade QHX gelding, 13 yrs., the more he’s ridden, the better he is, no beginners (not a bad pony, just has typical ponytude)

VA 23421

I have lots of horses, and for the right person, there is riding opportunity. The rider would need to contribute though, a combination of partial board contribution and help with farm stuff, but I go to lots of shows, clinics, trail rides and various other things and generally welcome everyone to come along.

What I am not interested in is the person who wants the free pony-ride 2x a week, wants to be the princess who is handed a tacked up horse, doesn’t clean up after herself or the horse, and whines that it is a 45 minute drive from her slice of suburbia. I do help with choosing the most appropriate horse from them.

15 year old TB mare, jumps well, decent dressage to 1st level, adores XC.

10 year old QH/App who adores dressage, currently schooling third level, planning on showing 2nd later this year.

5 year old TB mare, OTTB, CANTER mare, probably a hunter type pony, she is a nice ride, not difficult and a snuggle pony.

These are not untrained horses, they get ridden and worked and I still ride & work them.

I trail ride and have 5 beasties that I’d love to share with someone.

Pick your favorite…2 nice TB geldings, forward but pleasant to ride, an Appy gelding with a HUGE sense of humor, a broke to death Paint mare and a usually nice but still green as grass 3 year old…

I’m in Wakefield VA.

Rides outs from the farm as well as day trips to local parks and trail rides.

hey barbara, have you joined the nj-horse.com board? lots of friendly folk who participate over there. i know you’ve been looking for a while,i hope you find a pony to ride!

I have a 16.2, Saddlebred/QH gelding that has done 2nd level dressage. Good situation for good rider to ride very cheaply.

Near Winston-Salem, NC. Send me a PM here.

horseless rider

check out the last page…horseless again. Great thread, COTH does rock.

horseless in pa

Horseless rider in pittsburgh, pa. I’ve been lucky enough to have a horse to ride over the winter, but looks like he’s getting sold and I will be back on lesson horses again. I’ve been riding hunter/jumper for about 9/10 years now and would love any opportunity to ride. I’m willing to help out around the barn or what not. A free lease (I would pay board, vet, etc) would be awesome, but again I’ll ride anything. Can provide references and riding history if you’re interested.

Sigh, I wish I could find someone brave enough to ride my behemoth without paying $50 a pop, LOL! This is a great resource.

Tallahassee, Florida

I have a farm of mostly TB’s. Would love to have someone to ride with. I have one mare that is almost 18 hands. She really needs a guy to ride her. Some are puppy dogs and some are just TB’s.

horseless rider. northern NJ
Suz, yes indeed, I’m on nj-horse boards. I had a bunch of major economic issues pop up, along with some medical issues. I posted about a horse lease there last week and 24 hours later had to pull the post. Am going to re-post as I think I can manage at lease a low-cost lease. Too bad there a zillion of them if I could drive 2 hours, which I cannot. sigh. whine.
Look for me there, if you post as well!
