riderless horses and horseless riders?

jrrider I’m also in Pittsburgh as just sent my horse back to CA so I will be horseless in the fall. But boy do I have a barn for you to run clear away from, I was a horseless college kid they were willing to let me help out around the barn for lesson and then board when I got a horse, yea after two months I was expected to run a 22 stall barn with no heat by my self for 40 bucks a day or what ended up being about 3 dollars an hour. And I was a bad person and not a team player when I told them that was just no fair because, if she paid me more than the BO could not make the improvements she wanted to the barn. anywhoo pm me if you want the name of the crazy ladies

Ack! Sorry guys–I had to take the other HR/RH thread offline to extract some blatant advertising and neglected to restore it, and we’ve been referring people to that thread in the meantime. Oops!

The other one is back up for reference, but I’ll lock it with a referral to this one. The other thread was getting a tad long and out of date anyway!

Thanks and our apologies!

Horseless Riders in Ann Arbor

Could we please return to the convention in the last thread of starting each post with a BOLDFACED location and whether it’s a horseless rider or riderless horse?

For example:

Horseless Rider in Ann Arbor

I know of at least two horseless riders in the northern Ann Arbor/South Lyon area. Both competent intermediate riders, mostly with hunt seat backgrounds, one with eventing background. Both responsible twentysomething adults.

Any Horseless Riders in N.Y.?

I am currently looking for someone who would like to half lease any of our wonderful “schoolies”, most of whom are low level eventers. In exchange, this person would have to give me about 10 - 12 hours a week of assisting me while I school the “schoolies” - no heavy work, just grooming, tacking up, cooling out and untacking. Our web site is CedarHollowEquestrian.com. If interested, let me know. We are totally flexible and laid back people. Great trails, just no indoor yet, just got the property last summer.

Kelli

No longer available. Thanks.

Riderless horse - MD

I have a v nice 13 yo TB/ID mare who is riderless several days during the week and occasional weekends (probably 1 weekend per month).

She is safe and sane, if not necessarily easy. Experienced rider is preferred, as she is a princess and has limited patience :). Schooled to 2nd level, but a bit out of shape at the moment (what with only weekend riding). Has competed in eventing, has foxhunted, has done competitive trail. Stable has an indoor and access to nice trails. Near Germantown in Maryland.

bumping for everyone

Horseless in Tucson, AZ

Experienced dressage rider looking for some saddle time while I go to school.

Horseless rider near Seattle

Horseless rider near Seattle

I have a hunt seat background as well as experience in many other disciplines. Currently live on Bainbridge Island, but am moving back to the mainland in June. I am a grad student without funds for one of my own right now.

Near LaCrosse, WI

Semi-riderless horse could use another rider! I can only get out to ride maybe 2-3 days a week and Sprite could certainly use some more exercise. 16 y/o 15.2 hand TB mare. Well schooled, but a little rusty after having had the winter off (is back in light work now). Has competed locally in hunters, dressage, done some schooling events and foxhunted in the past. Will pretty much pack a beginner but can also provide challenge for the more experienced. LOVES to jump!

Barn is a small private facility w/just a few boarders, small indoor, small outdoor- but lots of trails and a field to ride in. Rider would be welcome to clinic, show, etc if wanted.

Horseless Rider - Triangle NC

Just sold my mare, I’m an 18 year old junior rider and I’d like to ride more over the summer before I go to school in September. I can provide references, have been riding for 10-12 years hunter/jumpers mostly with some experience in eventing/dressage, saddleseat, and a little dabbling in western. I am comfortable on most anything, short enough to fit on a large and not look ridiculous on a medium. I can ride green horses or ponies confidently and would love to do flatwork or jumping, I’m up for anything. I’d also do some barn work in exchange for riding if that’s an issue. If shows are an option I’d love that as well and pay for my fees.

I may also be interested in half leasing a horse or pony in the area. Please PM!

horseless rider - Tulsa, Oklahoma

I have extensive background in training/showing jumpers, medals and hunters. I have horses but only one is rideable. I work full time so I would want something in the evenings and/or weekends.

Horseless rider in Chester County, Pa. (Downingtown)

I had to send my horse to my sister for financial reasons, but really want to ride. Been riding for about 15 years.

Riderless Horse - Fayetteville, NC

Riderless Horse - Fayetteville, NC
I have two- one in particular I need help with keeping fit. Novice level (eventing) 16 hand 8 yr old Paint gelding, a saint of a horse. Not dead-broke, but very quiet, and very good off seat and leg. Need someone to work on dressage/hack/pop over small jumps. I just need some help with keeping him fit as I work the baby/greenie. Dressage experience preferred - I’m not looking for someone who just wants to jump, as the jumping will be VERY limited. If you’re very skilled, there is a possibility of working the baby/greenie, too - 6 yr old 16.1 hand Oldenburg gelding, w-t-c, needs to be confirmed in his flatwork and started over jumps. Located just south of Fayetteville, in Parkton. PM me for details if you’re interested.

I have to say that this thread DOES work - I found a super super rider to come help keep 5 OTTBs in work - did not know how lucky I’d be to get her - she is a lovely rider with a perfect seat/hand for my horses. THANKS ANNA!!!

Hey, you LI’ers!!! Take this offer!!! When I lived there, I commuted out to shareboard on two horses by Connetquot and it’s the best. Miles of wide, sand paths. Dear, fox, quail, bobwhite and turkey. Fantastic
scenery and you can go for hours without seeing the same thing.
Georgia, horseless rider

Eventer, shown training/schooled some prelim (about ten years in eventing), dabbled in h/j and western performance…but mostly an eventer.

Where at in GA? I’ve got a porkchop of a Clyde-X who could use some extra exercise out on The Silver Comet Trail.

TO ALL: RelocatedTXJumpr created a separate forum just for the match-n-batch of horses to riders. Post everything here:
http://riderlesshorses.proboards91.com/index.cgi … this way it’s less likely to get lost in the shuffle of a huge COTH thread.
