riderless horses and horseless riders?

Riderless Horse in Lovettsville, VA

I’m about to give up posting on here, but I’ll give it one more shot. How come no one wants to ride a cute push button horse for free?

15.2 grey QH/TB. Pretty much a made 2’6" hunter. Very sweet and easy to ride. Available any weekday and any weekends when I am out of town. Lesson and showing opportunities available.

PM if interested. Thanks!

PaintPony I board my 2 year old in Lovettsville and am going through training with her so I have no one to ride. I can do a little bit of western and a little bit of english and I am looking for a “free ride” horse to possibly continue taking lessons on. If you’d be willing to do that, PM with you terms and we can talk!

I have also posted an ad on this thread that you can check out!

I’m a riderless horse in Akron, Ohio. I have extensive experience with hunters, jumpers, and equitation. I just graduated from Sweet Briar College, where I was a varsity athlete on the IHSA team and placed 3rd at IHSA nationals. I’m just looking for someone that maybe has a horse I could hop on once in awhile-- I’m a poor grad student, so even just something I could poke around on occasionally would be very much appreciated. :o) PM me if you know of anything that might fit the bill!!

Riderless Horse near Lansing MI

17YO QH/Morab mare just getting started back to work after a stifle injury. My other horse is “in work” and I am not getting to put as many rides on 17YO as I’d like.

Conformational Mr. Potatohead has lots of buttons, good for novice to experienced, though I’d prefer a more experienced rider who can keep her in a proper frame and can come out and ride w/ me and the BO over some small courses.

Fun fun fun mare…can do anything.

PM me if interested.

Horseless in VA

Horseless Rider in New Kent (east of Richmond), Virginia
I’m currently taking lessons, but may not be able to continue paying for them when school starts this fall. I’m not a beginner, I’ve been riding since I was a young kid but juggling college and my car leave no room for a horse in my budget. I’m comfortable jumping to about 2’6, and trail riding or foxhunting. Please don’t hesitate to PM me.

Riderless horses in central Ohio

I’m traveling a lot for work, so we have several nice horses hanging out in the pasture that could use some exercise. I have several boarders riding frequently and an eventing coach is giving flat lessons here once a week that could be jumping lessons if the horses were in shape (three horses jump). Facilities are large, hilly pastures and a 100x200 arena. There are also fairly frequent trips off the farm to trail ride, hunter pace, or fun shows.

Horses are between 15.0 and 15.3 hh. Most are polo ponies but my last two grooms (jumper riders) and BF all ride them English in a snaffle without confusing them too much. Most of my pones would prefer that you have experience with fairly sensitive, forward horses.

Located NE of Columbus, about 30 miles from OSU. Boarders frequently carpool from New Albany.

Riderless horse in Birmingham, Alabama

11 year old lovely, athletic and sweet mare needs a riding buddy. She is a solid Appaloosa sport horse mare built very nicely with high neckset, good shoulder, short back, great impulsion, etc. She loves to jump and hear sweet talk from her human. This mare is confident, fast, has a lot of go, never mean, you just can’t tire her out. Will try her heart out for you. Not a made horse though so she needs an experienced rider or an intermediate rider with a trainer. No illnesses, no major injuries, easy keeper. Only 15.1hh, barefoot with great feet, but has won over the tall warmbloods in limited showing. Trainer says she could easily go over 4 ft. Has been ridden by two different teenage girls who loved her. Large barrel on this mare so her size is good for an average teen or rider under 160 lb, IMO.

She is sitting in the pasture doing nothing and I hate to see all this talent going to waste…especially when running and jumping makes her so happy. Too sound and talented to be made into a broodmare. I’d be willing to discuss an off farm free lease to someone wanting to keep her at an approved local facility/boarding barn. Not to be used as a school horse though. I should add that this mare is not a hunter and will not do the long and low. She is all about running fast, jumping high and showing off her athleticism so jumping or eventing are definitely her gig.

Please send PM if you are interested.

Horseless Rider on the North Shore, MA

I am 24 years old and just moved to the north shore above Boston. I am taking lessons once a week but I am really looking for more time in the saddle.

I competed on my college’s IHSA team in the intermediate and open eq classes. Before that, I competed in medal, eq, and hunter classes - always on borrowed horses. I have worked with many different horses and brought two green-broke project horses up to compete successfully in the 3’ eq.

I will ride anything, and can drive to you.

Free horse available to talented rider

If anyone is looking for a well trained h/j horse also trained in dressage , please let me know. He is a 16.1 thoroughbred who needs a cooler climate. Sound with annual maintenance. He would be PERFECT for a good rider who only has limited time to ride. He was professionally trained in hunter/jumper and in dressage. He is a VERY nice horse. He is wasting away at the moment and has too much talent to just sit. I am willing to pay part of transportation to get him into a cooler climate.

Riderless horse outside Harrisburg, PA

Looking for someone to ride my gelding a few times a week. He’s opinionated but not at all dangerous, very sane. Excellent on trails, jumps every jump in good form, and does not spook. Great ground manners, and very in your pocket. Showing opportunities are available if it’s a good match, personally I think he’s going to be a great eventer =) Would be best for an intermediate rider.

riderless horse in central CT

This is probably a long shot, but I have a nice welsh/appendix cross that I do not have time for. She is sweet, smart and pretty straightforward. W/T/C, jumps, low level dressage and trails. Has been used for lessons for kids moving up from the small ponies. Is also good for an adult looking to do a little of everything. (I am 5’5" and enjoy riding her) Thanks!

jmac, I’m a horseless rider in central CT - I sent you a pm!
