Horseless Rider near Philly, PA

Howdy! I just moved to the area and have not yet found a place to ride. I have 22 years experience with horses mostly riding dressage, eventing and H/J. I am looking for something to ride a few times a week – right now just to get back in the saddle again since I’ve not been able to ride while moving.

I am willing to drive up to 45 minutes in any direction to ride - and can provide references as well as a link to my website with photos and video if you contact me.

Thanks!

2 Horses for Lease in Delaware

RIDERLESS HORSES IN SOUTHERN DELAWARE!

Well I have some news to share…I am pregnant! I’ve decided not to risk riding, so am looking for situations for my 2 boys for the next year +.

Yankee is a 9 YO Bay TB gelding and is 16.2 hands. Very well trained guy, easy to ride, safe, and fun. Easy to work with and sensible. Has competed Novice level eventing, has also shown 1st level Dressage, and done some hunter stuff up to 3’. Should have no problems once brought back into shape (he’s gotten to be a bit lazy this year since I have been super busy).

Maverick is a 5 YO Chestnut TB gelding with a blaze and 4 whites-very flashy! He’s 15.3 hands and green, but fun and the best personality ever! Everyone who meets him loves him! He’s easy to work with, great manners, and has had 2 months of pro training (April-May 2008) prior to that he was hacked by his previous owner and trail ridden after he was done at the track.

My first choice is to find an experienced (possibly horseles?) rider close to me that would come to my farm and ride. I live in Southern Delaware (Bridgeville to be exact). All this person would have to do is show up, tack up, and ride. I have a new arena that is 150 x 200, and have access to trails on the farm. Redden State Forest is only 5 minutes away, and I would be willing to haul there if rider wanted to trail ride. I have a 2 horse trailer, and am willing to haul both horses to local shows, events, schoolings, etc., but rider would cover all expenses related to that. It doesn’t matter to me if the horses are shown or not, but the rider would have that option. This could be an awesome deal for someone who cannot afford horses, or really wants to ride and doesn’t have a farm, etc. I live on the farm, so I could be around to help get them ready and it could be fun for both of us! My trainer comes to the farm for lessons, so you could take lessons as well if you wanted. This would work as a free lease and the person would only have to pay for any gas, showing, lessons, etc. I will cover all vet, farrier, care, etc.

My second choice would be to do an off-farm lease where the rider would cover all expenses related to care, vet, farrier, showing, board, etc. I am not too keen on this idea as I love these guys and would be worried (like I don’t have enough to worry about now! LOL!), but if it was an excellent home that was within a 1 hour drive of me, I would certainly consider it so they could have jobs and be enjoyed. Please email me at allisontatman@verizon.net I can email pics!

Please feel free to pass this along to anyone you think may be interested-thanks!

horseless rider!

Horseless rider in Northern Va looking for sound, semi-retired or quiet horse, any breed, sex, etc to continue lessons on. Prefer Dressage background, but anything English is great, though I dont have much interest in jumping so a horse that is sound for flat work, but not jumping is fine too. I gave up my free lease deal because the horse is chronically lame, ( an the owner is still trying to lease him out) and it was impossible to keep a consitant lesson program and learn from instruction on a lame horse. Not to mention a bad barn situation…if any of you have read my post about trying to get my 2 yr old a new home and off the property were she is now…I didnt give up my free lease because I wasnt commited…If I could buy him and rehab him more like he needs I would…
Anyways…

Willing to help with chores and care, can ride multiple times a week, if not every day. Would eventually like to compete, but not necessary. I cannot afford board on another horse so I’m not looking for a lease, more like a work to ride deal with reasonable chore expectations. I have a back condition that limits the amount of lifting that I can do, but I have done it all and I manage rather well.

I have a western background, and just started English in January. I’m a beginner but not a real green beginner. I’m looking for a horse to teach me or a horse that can learn with me. I have my own instructor but would be willing to take a required lesson with the owner.

Please let me know if anyone has a horse in need of a job or exercise!

Riderless horses Alpharetta GA! PM Me HUNTERS/JUMPERS

Horseless Rider

I am in Chester County, Pa. Downingtown to be exact. Adult looking for some saddle time. Have been riding for about 20 years off and on. Can do western or english.

Horseless rider in NY, NY

More than willing to travel, of course! However, am carless so would need a place that is reachable by public transport (don’t mind short cab ride at the end).

My experience:

15+ years riding experience. Focused on “problem horses” and young horses, started in hunters and moved to cross-country and horse trails. Taught lessons and competed. In recent years, focused on dressage and was a working student at dressage barn for a number of years. Quiet, patient rider who changed lifestyles and is looking to keep riding!!

Horseless Rider in Woodstock/Roswell/Alpharetta Area

(North Metro Atlanta, GA area) Hunter/jumper rider with own wheels, saddle, etc. Just leased out my horse and am sorely missing the saddle. 15 years of instruction, successfully competed up to 3’6", brought own horse along from green to made. 5’9", so tend to skim my toes along the ground with ponies but happy to ride whatever horses people put in front of me.

horses need riders

I have arab x and a hafflinger who would love to have someone ride them more than what they get ridden. they have been ridden western on the trails. in orange county NY

Horseless rider in SE PA

I am in the Chester County/Wilmington DE area. I have years of experience eventing/foxhunting/and hunters many years ago.

I am looking for anything to throw a leg over. I am kind, have quiet hands and a good seat. I would prefer not to get on crazy horses nor dangerous ones.

I have a truck and trailer if you need horses hauled.

I am pleasant to work around, and have noproblem cleaning tack or a stall or two!

Greenie needs miles Burl. Co. NJ

This is such a long shot, but here goes. I have an adorable seven yr old OTTB gelding that needs miles. He was just given to me and has been doing nothing but getting brushed by kids for the past 3 years. He needs miles and confidence; he’s timid but willing to please. There is no arena, you’d have to ride in the pasture with one other (very nice) horse in it or the short trail. Could work out to be a free lease if interested. He looks like a little QH, stocky, probably about 15.1 or so. Adorable! Advanced riders only please. PM if interested.

Riderless horse(s) near Wellington,FL

Nice dressage horses need WORK!! I’ve been tied up with ailing sick parent,so I would love to have someone come out to ride. You would need to be an experienced rider, but you need not be a dressage rider.

HORSELESS (Sort of) in South NJ

Any horses in south jersey area that need a ride a week? My horse is having arthritic changes and isn’t sound enough. I’m looking for a new home for him, when I get him placed I’d like to start up some lessons but until then I’m just looking for something to ride. I’d like something with some miles on it. I don’t want to ride something real green at this point because I haven’t been able to ride a whole lot lately. I’ve been riding dressage for several years, some hunters. No over fences needed. I’m a flat person! 10 years experience. Can handle a spook, a buck, the unpredictables on occasion but really looking to learn some more. Maybe you have a school master that needs a ride??

Riderless Horse–Tidewater VA

I have a riderless gelding in the Tidewater area of VA. He’s a 15.2 hand former low level jumper lesson horse now retired. No more jumping for him after a field/fence injury but completely recovered and sound for riding on the flat.

We have trails directly off the farm and a small lit riding ring though he is much more happy on the trail. He requires an intermediate ride only because he is forward but is rateable on the trails. Absolutely sweet temperament and a fun ride and no forward isn’t a euphemism for “no brakes”.

He’s a second horse and I barely have enough time to ride my main horse so it would be nice for someone to enjoy riding again and keep him fit at the same time.

Several horses to ride in Northwest Indiana (Crown Point/Merrillville area)

I have my own 3…
#1 has been shown quite a bit at level 3/4, was getting ready to start showing higher when he had to have time off for a surgery. He’s getting fit again and needs some work. He’s difficult to ride… if you cant get off the mouth of one that wants to go forward, he’s not the right ride for you. He’s big and can be intimidating but if you can ride him the way he wants to be ridden he will absolutely pack anyone around a 4ft course no questions asked. He’s 11, 17.3 (yes really) Oldenburg gelding.
#2 is a younger horse learning lead changes, really really quiet, would probably trail ride, easy going on the flat, green to jump. 16.1h 7 yo Irish Sport Horse gelding
#3 is my daughter’s small pony- if anyone is small enough and wants to ride him, all he does right now is leadline but he jumps and even goes western if you can ride! haha. He’s really cute… he’s probably 11.1? (really small!) and 10 years old, gelding… definetly a mutt of indeterminate origins.

I’d be more than happy to talk to anyone interested about the opportunity to show. There is also the opportunity to ride atleast 3-4 more in the barn. I dont know if theres actually anyone from this area that even reads these boards- but if there is and you might be interested, send me a PM. We are just a few minutes off the highway. Between teaching lessons and training other people’s horses and trying to have a little family time on the side  I just dont have the time to ride them as much as I’d like.

Kind of both…

In Ludington, Michigan. My current horse is too much for me right now, but I think with a more confident rider, she’d be a great hunt prospect. She’s a 5 year old Morgan/Hackney cross.

Personally, I just would like to be able to hop on a horse and not have to worry about getting thrown. I’d call myself a beginning intermediate rider, as I can do a lot, but I’m kind of gutless from not being in a…secure saddle much.

Gelding Near Leesburg VA Needs Rider

I have a 7 year old gelding who needs a rider. He’s got a friendly personality and is a very athletic jumper and has been shown dressage. Needs a skilled rider, not a steady-eddy lesson type horse. PM me for details.
