TouchstoneAcres - that sounds lovely. Sadly, where you’re located is actually a good 5.5+ hours from CT - maybe you’d have more luck looking for people from VA, PA, and MD?[/QUOTE]
Around here, CT=Charles Town WV

Horseless rider in Orange County, CA
I’m looking for something I can ride and love! I have been riding h/j for about 5 years, around horses for 10+. Willing to travel.
Horseless rider (sort of) - Need Eventing packer
I have found myself in a situation and what I need is a tall order!
I am ready to move on from my dead broke, super pokey, but very loveable horse. Because I will not sell him, I am not in a position to buy another right now (plus I am pony shopping and my children both have horses that maybe one day I too will own!). I’ve found a great lease for my gelding with a girl at our barn. So now I am looking for the ideal horse for me to lease which would be:
*able to bring to my barn. I have a wonderful trainer who has done great things with me, plus I have 3 horses boarded there so that is where my days are spent!
*Novice packer. A real one. I am an adult re-rider who needs something very well behaved cross country. I want something that will teach me how to do the bigger jumps and continue my confidence building as well has bring me along in the Dressage. I am currently going BBN with the lofty goal of actually doing BN, and schooling N.
*Prefer under 16 hands. I am 5’2.
*prefer gelding just because of herd dynamics
What I offer
*A great home, wonderful grass turnout and diets custom tailored for each horse (even reviewed by a well known equine nutritionist!)
*I will remain in training with a professional eventer.
*Great care. I am an experienced horse owner, its just the riding piece that I am re-learning, flat is fine, its the over fences part. I have references (trainer, vet, farrier, my own horses )
*long term lease is fine, actually preferable! I would welcome the owner to stop in whenever, I would expect no less if one of my horses were to leave the barn
*Will be competing at starter trials. Again, my current lofty goal is BN. I will probably be there for a good while!
Rider in South East PA available…
I’ve been riding for 8 years, mostly Hunter/Jumper with the exception of a little tiny bit of western and dressage. I just figured I’d throw it out there that I’m available for riding/exercising. I’m not asking to show your horses (unless you would want me to) or anything. I just want to get out there and ride as much as possible, any type of horse and any discipline I can… and if I can help someone in the process that is a bonus.
I’ve ridden horses with all kinds of problems. Bucking, rearing, my mare used to try to back me up into tree branches, she was a MEAN stopper, and just plain nasty sometimes so I can ride through that. By the time I sold her I had doubled her value and she was nice enough for little kids and beginners to ride. I also retrained my OTTB who was just plain crazy, and I exercised schoolies and my former trainer’s show horses.
I still have my OTTB, but there is only so much riding you can do with one horse.
I just figured I’d throw it out there, if you think you could use me just PM me and let me know.
Philadelphia / Montgomery County, PA
Horseless Rider
I have 15 years of experience in the hunter/jumper ring, but I don’t currently have a horse of my own. I love to ride, though, and if you have a horse that needs some exercise I’m happy to help.
Thanks!

Riderless Horse
Located in AACounty MD
I’ve recently “out grown” in ability my best friend for life! She’s a small 15hand Morgan who has successfully competed at BN eventing, but needs to compete at 2’3’’ max! she can trail ride for days and is just a love. MUST STAY ON MY FARM! Leasing options only…
PM Me for details!
Long shot, but what the heck, it’s worth a try…
Horseless Rider in Edinburgh, UK. Am able to travel via public transport but no more than 1 1/2 hr roundtrip. Around for next 2 weeks then during term time.
Also (not so long shot…) in Chapel Hill, NC for August 18 - mid September and University vacations. Willing to travel up to 1 1/2 hr roundtrip, have car.
My experience: I have owned 2 horses previously, a 13 y/o QH Gelding and 5 y/o Thoroughbred Mare. I’ve competed in Lower Level Eventing and dressage. Am happy to jump, school flatwork, hack out, etc. Would be more than willing to exchange riding time for barn work.
Gelding Near Leesburg, VA Needs Rider
I have a 7 year old gelding who needs a rider. He’s got a friendly personality and is a very athletic jumper and has been shown dressage. PM me for details.
Currently horseless rider…
Moved from IN to NC, was a decently known rider there, not even in the running here with all the big trainers, just leased out my level 3 mare to a couple teenagers, looking to acquire a level 5/6 horse for the miniprix’s here.
I’m not rich, have shown successfully to Prelim/Mod jumpers, so not afraid to jump big, (even in a Pruisance to 5’9 Triplebar). Looking for potential horses for sale, can be shown here with lots more exposure to potential buyers, I currently have my ammy status, but for the right horse willing to give it up. Thanks.
I’m also one of those people who believes in working on the ride BETWEEN the jumps more than the ride OVER the jumps. (Translation = I DON’T jump the &$#(^ out of the horses I ride)
Horseless rider in Central Connecticut
I am horseless near Hartford, CT, able to drive 30-35 min…I have ridden for about 11 years but nothing special, mostly schoolies and in lessons, and until recently I competed IHSA in Region 1 for 4 years. I am looking to ride anything for any reason! More than happy to exchange barn work for a ride or two. I haven’t ridden since April, and am going crazy not being around horses. I am also able to groom and shower deserving ponies with attention or help with barn chores.
Riderless Horse(s) In NE Ohio
Figured this was worth a shot - I have a three horses, one butt situation here in Atwater, OH, east of Akron/Canton area. Primarily interested in someone who wants to trail ride regularly; you come to my place and I will trailer us both out somewhere. Possibility for ring work as well. Nothing fancy - a little Morgan mare who is a trail machine (done several LD rides) and a QH. I’ll be on my Arab mare. If you are interested in endurance, there is a possibility of doing some LD rides with me as well on said Morgan. PM me for more info.
Heather - I’m also near Hartford, and while I certainly don’t have any horses to offer you (I’m looking, too!), I started taking lessons again at a nearby barn that I really like. If you’re looking for a lesson barn.
Semi Horseless in Warsaw, IN
I took a new job in Warsaw that for at least the next 3 months my horse will remain in Michigan. I live in IN during the week, head home on weekends.
I’d love to get to be around horses in the evenings again…I miss it! I don’t even have to ride, just grooming works for a horse fix
PM me with any questions/info!
Riderless TB Filly in NE PA
Sweet semi-riderless OTTB filly would love a sympathetic, low-key rider for days when I can’t make the the hour-long trip to the barn. She’s a big, LOVELY Storm Cat granddaughter who inherited none of SC’s famed nastiness or unsoundness, She’s a pocket pony for sure, with potential for either dressage or hunters. Lovely gaits, calm demeanor, and a total peppermint hound. On our first ride, she stood like a rock at the mounting block, walked and trotted calmly, and came back to a halt with a little whoa.
No fees/work expected, except cleaning tack after rides. She’s very green due to my lack of time, so an experienced baby-horse person would be preferred.
Please PM me if you’re interested. She’s located in Factoryville, PA, just a little west of Scranton and Clarks Summit. There’s and indoor arena, outdoor arena, round pen and miles of trails.

Kat
I’m in northern Broward Co. Florida (parkland, coconut creek). I part-lease a hunter who I ride 2 to 3 times a week, and I am happy with my lease, but would be interested in meeting owners in the area who might need some one to hack their horse so I can add to my saddle time and riding fitness. References available.

Riderless Pony in Athens, GA
Happy is a 12.2 hh pony that belongs to the 4 year old and 2 year old daughters of my barn owner. She is looking for a spunky child or very small adult that would be willing to come ride the pony in order to give him some more training! He w/t/c and jumps fine, just needs a little more discipline than a 4 yr old can give! He is definitely a kick ride and his favorite trick is to go into the center of the arena and refuse to stay on the rail. No expenses for the rider and the owner would even love for the pony to be shown. Please PM me or email me at LMintz@uga.edu.
Horseless in Albuquerque
I think there are a few folks out this way, so I thought I’d give it a shot. I had a lovely mare to ride early this spring but unfortunately she had a fatal colic a few months later. And I’m finding that I really do miss my riding time. I’ve done a bit of everything, dressage to mounted shooting and was a BM/instructor for 20 years. Right now, I’d be really happy with a pony to knock about the pasture or trail with once in awhile. I’m a broke college student again  and so not $$ would be even better. I’m willing to trade work/lessons or whatever for riding time. Shoot me a PM if you have any ideas or know anyone
Thanks!
Horseless rider in Vancouver, WA Unfortunately I can’t spend a ton of time out at the barn as I am a single mother also attending school. But I also LOVE working around the barn, grooming and just futzing and loving on the horses. Would love to be able to occasionally bring my twin VERY WELL BEHAVED 5 year old daughters out just for pets and feeding. I haven’t ridden in a few years so I am quite rusty, but I can do English and Western. If someone needs an occasional riding companion for trail or just has a horse that I could hop on once or twice a month or so, I’d love to get my horsey-fix! I have excellent references from a former trainer and from two Arabian breeding farms I worked at (one of which has top 10 halter horses at Scottsdale and American and Canadian Nationals every year). I have a dressage background and have done some jumping, and have done some western riding as well mostly warming up and cooling down for trainers I worked for.
I’m also 5’2 and less than 110lbs so I can ride ponies.
I live in the Orchards area.
