Horseless Rider in Central MO

I am a semi-beginner adult rider in Central MO (Jefferson City/Columbia area) and I take lessons once a week. However, I would love to be able to ride more so I can get more experience. Any riderless horses out there? Half leases would also be considered. Also, willing to work as well around the farm as part of the deal.

Horseless rider in Plymouth, MI

Hi all. I’m temporarily in Plymouth, MI. Looking for something to ride. Prior to going back to grad school, I trained, taught and managed for several years. Almost 15 years experience, mostly H/J. I’ve done green, problem, rehab, track, etc. Will ride anything. Can provide references. I’ll be here till August 22nd. Would love to ride something.

Horseless rider in mass

I am looking for a horse to ride in North Eastern MA or Southern NH/Maine. I recently graduated college and my lease just ended on my jumper. I’ve been riding for 19 years, most of which I sent on the hunter A circuit doing the ponies and then the children’s horses and adults. Recently switched to the jumpers. I will ride anything, I love greenies, just looking for some saddle time. Also small enough to ride a large pony (5’1, 115 lbs). Thought I could handle a little break, but after a week I miss the ponies too much!

Thanks!

DC burbs- looking to ride 2x/week this summer

I’m a 28 y/o grad student interning in DC for the summer, staying in Arlington VA until Mid-August. I have a dressage trainer in MD and a (field)hunter trainer out in Rappahanock County, but they are too far to ride with during the work week. So I’m looking to ride 1 or 2 nights a week after work. Because I work later hours (may not be able to get to my car in Pentagon City until 7), I’m looking to stay relatively local like the Great Falls, Lorton, Montgomery County MD areas.

Am not too picky about the type of horse/riding, as long as the horse isn’t very green. I’ve trained in Western Pleasure, hunt-seat, and dressage (novice of all disciplines, master of none  . Perfectly willing to chip in with expenses/chores.

You can see pictures of my riding here- http://www.chronicleofmyhorse.com/profile/linquest

horseless rider(s) in Northern Maine

Experienced horse owners in central Aroostook county seeking sound, healthy horse to free lease.

Do you know a horse in the New England or New Brunswick, Canada area looking for a home who is:
Forward-moving and responsive to the aids, but not spooky or fearful
Well-started under saddle, and willing to walk, trot, and canter on both leads
(Prior experience with cavelletti and jumping helpful, but not necessary)
Road and trail safe, alone and with other horses
Able to carry 250 lbs.
Willing to stand still for farrier, grooming, and mounting
Friendly with other horses and handlers – no alphas need apply!
No kicking, biting, rearing, or bucking

More about us: As a teenager, Erica brought her Anglo-Arab mare from crossrails to successfully competing at Novice level eventing. During college, she was a barn manager at a hunter-jumper barn in Florida. After a ten-year hiatus to become a working stiff and homeowning adult, she got back into the horse community, became a barn manager at a therapeutic riding center, and got certified as a NARHA instructor.

Kate grew up with an assortment of backyard ponies and managed to stay on despite all sorts of pony tricks. As an adult, she took her first lesson a few years ago and is working on rebuilding her confidence as a rider, learning her diagonals and leads, and eventually trying a jump or two just in case we come to a fallen tree trunk on the trail.

We’d like a horse somewhere in between green and bombproof, who will be an interesting but safe ride for both of us. If you know of a horse who would fit the bill, please contact us at 207-896-3330 or quineast@hotmail.com. Thanks!

Many Riderless Horses WV near CT

I have a breeding farm and several young horses, some nice broodmares and a stallion who need exercise. All but one under saddle already. Mostly Lipizzans, a TB, a WB and a QH or two. Some lessons and clinics may be available. Shows if you’re able. I require a commitment to the horse–no once a week recreation rides for the rider.

TouchstoneAcres - that sounds lovely. Sadly, where you’re located is actually a good 5.5+ hours from CT - maybe you’d have more luck looking for people from VA, PA, and MD?

She probably means near Charles Town,WV----hence the CT.

Horseless in MI

Horseless in MI

I’m looking for an on site lease for a hunter horse located in Michigan. Looking to be no further than 1 hour from Northville/Novi/Plymouth area. I’m looking for a nice hunter capable or already showing B’s and A’s (HJAM and MHJA) Must either be schooling or capable of schooling 3’. I’ve shown MHJA, HJAM, and USEF. A warmblood would be a huge plus, but I will definantly consider others. Jumpers will be considered. Not a whole lot of money to spend a month, just looking for a horse to ride and have fun with. Feel free to email me at laurenhj28@aol.com If it can jump, I’ll look at it

Horseless in WNY

I’m back in Western New York for the summer doing some consulting work. I haven’t had any luck getting trainers to return my calls (what is up with that?) Anyway, am just looking for some saddle time. I’m a fairly competent rider but haven’t been in the saddle for a while so am just looking to get my leg back. I’m not picky - will ride most anything (unless it is going to actively try to kill me  )and am not looking to do anything crazy, just flat unless you want otherwise.

Horseless in Central NY

Horseless in Cortland, NY

Nice to see this thread bumped back up!

Anyhow, I’m horseless, and just moved to Cortland, NY (lived in Cazenovia my whole life). My pony is out on lease in MA, and while I would love to have her back, I think she’s found her calling - so I’m horseless, in a new town, with nothing to ride! I’m pretty out of shape at the moment (pony has been on lease for over a year, and I popped out a kid in that time! lol), so I’d be a bit rusty, and probably not overly suitable for super green horses, and I’d squish anything smaller than a well built large pony (give me a few months of riding, and that can change! LOL). ;) However, I’m okay with a bit of an attitude, or green broke. I think at this point I think I’d ride anything sane, and that’s had more than a small handful of rides.

I’m not looking to do anything crazy at the moment. Looking for ANY saddle time, really. Hacking, light schooling, a trail buddy - anything. I’m really a “jack of all trades”, but most of my formal schooling is dressage based.

rhinebeck,new york
athletic and nice mover-appy mare—green ,spoiled and bratty. totally has her owner’s number and easily intimidates her. great trails, large round pen.
posting for a young friend who is very over-horsed with this bossy mare.

horseless rider in north/central jersey

just graduated college and no funds to buy or lease at this time, and going through serious riding withdrawal!

i’ve been riding for 12 years, mostly hunters/eq (comfortable over 3’ course) and some dressage (shown 1st level, schooled some 2nd). i LOVE LOVE LOVE ponies, the naughtier the better. i fit great on larges, and can still do pretty well on a chunky medium. but i’ll sit on just about anything. just looking to keep myself in shape and retain my skills while helping someone else out a few days a week.

Would prefer an at home lease for my 10 y.o., 16h Warmblood jumper mare. Stabled at an A show barn in the Los Angeles area. Very easy, super sweet and competitive (if you want to show). PM me if interested.
