Ridiculous horse names

Booger
Wart
Road Kill

I did not own any of these, but did help train the first two ponies.

There was a pony at a barn I used to board at named Turd.

I remember a famous race caller saying he loved saying " and Bodascious Tatas is in the lead…"

Ditchem - renamed Whiskey by his new owner…

My sister had a QH mare named “Honda Poco Bimbo” ugh

I don’t care for my SSH gelding’s registered name "“Money’s Sharp Shooter”, but his barn name “Rico” fits him very well

here’s another one: Stud Spider

blech…I don’t recall anything about this horse other than he was turned into a Breyer model at one point.

I have a mare named Wrisque that was shown under Risqué Review and Risqué Affair.

I once went to a local show and showed my gelding under the name That’s What She Said.

We have a mare whose registered name is Zips Old Martha.

And the ranch has had hundreds of horses through out the years and here are some of my favorite barn names:

P.G. - stood for Paint Gelding
Grey - for a grey mare
Chestnut - for a chestnut mare (who also happened to be my all time favorite horse they ever owned)
Clownface - I have no clue where this came from
Airhead - this was swiftly changed to just Air when by coincidence she was assigned to a blonde woman who was quite offended.

I’m sure there were others, but these are just off the top of my head.

Brass Newt - a palomino ASB jumper in the Portland OR area many years ago

Flying Nun - hunter mare with HUGE floopy ears that always hung at half mast

Cathy’s Reject - Big, common looking, COMMON ACTING 4 yr old TB. Track trainer had him in training in So CA and shipped him north to Bay Meadows for what I think was his first race. His odds were 99-1. He ran away from the entire field to win by lengths.

chicamuxen

“Yard Sale on Wheels” owned by one of our Cothers!

Dirty Sneakers
Lounge Lizard
Somebeachesomewhere (top standardbred)
Dupont (a paint, of course)
Joe Beam (apparently Jim’s brother)

I knew a Little Chit too. We gave him a more appropriate barn name for when clients came to look at him but at home he was always called Little Chit. And he was one.

Other TB’s
Boyfriendontheside
Feelsgoodonmylips
Bank of Dad
Toes on the Curb
Hubby trained feelsgoodonmy lips! Horrible name. I may be able to find out how she got that terrible name

She wasn’t very good lol

My friend’s late OTTB was registered as Earphone. His sire was Refrigerator.
For the win.

a farm in TX named itself “Windswept Farm” and gave the horse they bred names beginning with the farm name - thus Windswept Anna

now windswept sounds lovely until you consider what it means in horse lingo which makes it a very unfortunate name
Did they have Morgans? My dad had Windswept Pansy for some time.

There was a Canter horse named Booty Man. I wanted that horse BAD, lol.

I didn’t see Norfolk and Way brought up.

I’ve heard of a Sofa King Suite as well

Legendary Chicken Fairy: big appaloosa colored WB mare. She was something when I saw her.

Almost Alpo: a friend’s hunter, a rescue horse.

No White O.K. : solid bay Shetland mare. I guess she was by colored breeding stock?

There’s a TB by Boston Tea Party named So Long Oolong.

I showed (NIHJA mid-to-late 80s) with:

Nothing Artificial (plain liver chestnut, not a speck of chrome) - actually I thought this was a clever name

Sophocles - unfortunate naming by literate Jr owner.
Announcers inevitably screwed it up. “Sop Hockles” anyone?

Cheesecake on Ash Wednesday

I laughed out loud at Legendary Chicken Fairy!

Your post also reminded me of a breeding stock Jetalito bred mare we had named Jetanospot.

Boarded a pony once with the name “Chicken Nugget” I have others, but, he’s at the top of my list :)
my barn had a Tater Tot once. i thought that was hysterical.

My OTTB’s name is: Rare T. Bone

and I have his winning photo finishes in my hall to prove it!
