ROC USA

Harold - lucky you. How exciting to end up with a full sibling to Roc. Are you hoping for a colt or filly? Can’t wait to see the baby…got my fingers crossed for you having a safe and healthy pregnancy and delivery.

Natalie has updated some pictures on Roc USA’s website. For anyone that is interested, there are new baby pictures!

The video’s are better too!

Samotis - I’m very impressed with your colt, and can’t wait to see how he develops. Truthfully, although Roc’s breeding is wonderful, he seems like the type that will throw a jumper/dressage type than a hunter, but your mare is quite huntery and it will be exciting to see how Ace matures. Does his canter lean more towards one way or the other?

Ace is quite a handsome little guy, I can see why you are thrilled with this match

ROC’s Dam and 2009

Hello everyone. Just to confirm, yes we did breed Fusee to Idocus this year. Idocus’s schedule due to the WC and Olympics was a real concern, but Ms. McCarthy was great about getting us semen in his last week or so standing. Fusee took on the first cycle. So far, Fusee has never had a filly.

There were some recent questions regarding the dam and production. Even though she is Galoubet and is somewhat hot under saddle herself, all of her offspring have been excellent temperaments and go with easy mouths. She has not produced any offspring with a typical Galoubet mouth or rideability from even known hot stallions.

That is so exciting that you will have a full brother or sister to Roc USA! Do you want one or the other?

goodmorning, Ace’s canter is amazing, very huntery to me. The first day out in the pasture he was cantering around and a slight turn and he would make a perfect lead change! Now the trot is another story. Gracie is very flat kneed, almost feels like she doesn’t touch the ground! Ace trots a little, but not enough to really tell yet. He doesn’t have a super flat kneed trot, but it has alot more engagement which Gracie does lack a little of. (and something I wanted)

I know nothing about foals, but the vets and other breeders have seen him and say he is fancy hunter all the way. So of course I will take their opinion!

It will be interesting to see how he jumps. While I did show Gracie in the hunters because of her beautiful movement, she jumps up a lot with her hind end. That double jump thing that a lot of jumpers do. Made it very hard to stay with her! So we will see what he does!

Regarding what people are saying about the Galoubet and mouthy thing, I can’t say I have seen any of Roc’s offspring be funny in the mouth. Even the young hunters have a natural balance and seem to carry themselves without having to be fussed with in the mouth!

That was one thing I didn’t like when I saw the videos of Popeye K, was he seemed very mouthy around the turns. Gracie has to go in a rubber snaffle or she panics, so I certainly didn’t want a funny mouth!

Now when exactly does their mane fall down?;)

Looks like he has a whole lot of hairspray in there!

Who cares! It looks great just the way it is…he is a Rocer after all!:wink:

its funny because I almost called him Punk Roc.

Changed my mind at the last minute.

 It appears for now, that might have been a more appropriate name. But I have no doubt he will grow into his big boy name and his mane will become more conservative. I just think it’s very fancy right now.

Well we just weaned Ace and took him up north in the cooler weather. He missed mom for a little, but now has a new pony friend and is getting better everyday.

He is such a sight, I love just watching him! I can’t wait until his October inspection to see what the judges think of him!

Congratulations, he is just gorgeous!!! I can not believe it is weaning time already! How is Gracie? What is her new job now?

He’s weaned?? Where has the time gone??? I remember counting down the days til he arrived.

Yep, he is 4 and a half months old! (we weaned a little early due to some BO situations)

Gracie is now my friends horse and she is going to start riding her again in a few weeks.

I just don’t have the money to have a weanling, retiree (that has to live with me at my show barn because he doesnt like traditional retirement:() and Gracie, so I had to let her go.

She is right by my house, so I can ride her if I have time, but I am so busy now with shows and stuff, I just don’t think I will get down there too often.

Too bad I couldn’t send her to one of you and you guys could breed her back to Roc! If I could, I would breed her back in a heartbeat, but not going to happen this year at least:(

Glad the trip went smoothly and Ace is adjusting to life without mom. He just gets better looking the older he gets. You must be thrilled with him.

I stopped down at Ledges this weekend and shot the Roc foals in HB:

There were three presented… Roc’s Anala, Requiem TR and Roc My World.

Enjoy!

thanks for the pics! Roc My World has a gorgeous face!

She is about the same color as my colt. He is getting darker and bigger by the minute.

I am leaving for 3 weeks and he will probably be huge by the time I get back!

Roc My World is gorgeous all around. She’s a real looker.

Super photos Nikki! Neat seeing Nancy in the ring and also you’ve got some shots of Denise too! Very cool!

Thanks Stephanie! I had a case of insomnia on Sunday morning and it was an impromptu drive to Ledges that kept me going all day. I shot the Low Junior/AOs and was pooped… didn’t stay for the Prix.

Denise is so easy to shoot… her horses are fantastic jumpers.

Nix - great pictures. I love Roc My World! Got any more?
