so easy for everyone to pass judgement…

Samotis - It’s not the most original thing… but you could call him “Rocky” for a barn name. Maybe Remie or Remy? Rebel? (that might not be a good one )

Samotis - Don’t worry too much about a name, we’ve always had lists of them and the foals always seem to tell us their name. Rinka was supposed to be Roc My World, but 2 days before she was born I heard a poem. I remembered the words wrong - and came up with Rinka. Later on a google search we found Rinka is a beautiful Ukranane(?) water fall that is a national treasure. That is what my girl is to me.

Just be patient the right name will come! Although everyone keeps telling me that “Rinky-Dinky” doesn’t fit her any more. She’ll be 4 in April and is over 16.2. She also ended the year 6th in the 3Y.O. Hunter Breeding for USEF.

I like Rinka! Congrats on her placings, that is great! It must be so rewarding to show her and have her do so well!

I really do want to wait to see the foal before I name him/her, so I will keep you updated!

I was hoping for a Valentine’s baby, but she hasn’t developed milk yet. Her teats are enlarged and she is bagged up a little. (she is a maiden) You never know!

well Valentines is passed and i don’t have a baby!

I am waiting very impatiently! She has bagged up, but no milk at all! They have got a lot bigger in the last couple of days though.

There is a full moon on Thursday, so maybe that will be the day!

Give me some good names! I need to add to my list.

Samotis- I advise you to settle in and be prepared to wait. Most of our Roc’s have cooked a little longer. Seems like it was about 4 to 10 days with ours. Our maiden is still living outside except when the weather doesn’t agree. hang in there she’ll get down to business soon enough. Then the fun begins. Good Luck.

I hope she isn’t too late. I have to go to a show in Tucson the first week in March. I got out of going to both weeks, but I will be gone for March 4 -9th!

It is supposed to rain and have a full moon on Thursday, maybe that will move her along. I swear she looks huge today. It looks like the baby rolled or something because she is way bigger then a couple days ago. Still no milk:no:

I just took 30 minutes “re-strawing” her stall today. She pees a lot! She still tries to eat the straw, but seems to be fine and eating all her other food. Silly mare. She looks so cute sunbathing in the stall with her big belly:)

I tell you what, if I had to carry a baby for 11 months I would be wanting it out about now!

He is here! Baby boy born at 10:00 last night. I am just getting home to go to bed! He is bay with 3 white socks and a stripe on his face. Everything went well, I was there the whole time to help her and Gracie was great.

His name is Ace, show name Rocafeller. I will post more pics tomorrow after vet comes and does a check up.

Congrats Sam!
I know this has been a long wait. Welcome to the even longer waiting club of “when can I ride the darn thing already”. Cute name. He is marked a lot like Slurpee. Can’t wait for more pictures. Are the whites real high?

He has to socks in back that are a couple inches over his ankle, same on the one front, then the other front has a little coronet white with spots like Gracies one. They aren’t super high like roc’s. It seems to have a lot more bone then Gracie, but that is really all I can see right now.

He still has these spurts of energy and goes running off and then whacks into a wall, or Gracies. He likes to run under her too (which he almost can’t do!). She isn’t too sure about that! Hufanagel is coming out in an hour, I will post more later.

Congrats!!! Can’t wait to see more pictures and hear what his personality seems like! So far, I think he’s gorgeous!

Congratulations!! He’s adorable, can’t wait to see more pictures!

Our boy (Roc’s North Star) won’t be three until late June and they just sticked him a couple of weeks ago at 16-3". Every one of the Roc babies that we have at our barn (and there are quite a few) has been a joy, I bet yours will be the same.

Congrats!!! He’s adorable!

Please post more pics when you get a chance.

Sam - He’s adorable! Give both of them a big hug for me, especially Ace. Do get lots of pictures of him now because in a couple of weeks you won’t believe he was ever this small. Don’t forget to post lots of those pictures too.-

Ok, well vet came out this morning. everything looks great and he said he is super healthy and strong.

He has a great personality, he already runs up to me when I come into the stall. I bought him a little mini halter and I can tell in a couple of weeks it will be too small!

Here are more pics I took today.

One thing, if anyone knows how to help… Gracie won’t eat much because she is so worried where he is. She has an appetite, but isn’t eating enough to replenish her milk fast enough.

Sam - He is absolutely adorable. I got a chance to see some of Roc’s older kids this weekend down at WEF and they were all very friendly and gorgeous with beautiful movement. He should be a lot of fun to watch grow up. Congratulations.

how cute is this picture…

Congrats!!! What great news. I am glad everything went ok. He is pretty darn cute! Good name too.

Makes me almost want to get another baby & start again. My guy just turned 5 last week, but you know what…it seems like only yesterday he was a yearling. :sigh::slight_smile:

Well just an update, Ace is great, but he is growing soooo fast!

He is 11.2 and 240 pounds already! Yikes.

Here is a couple pics of last week. It is so much fun watching him grow.
Anyone else have any Roc USA’s born this year yet?

OMG he looks fabulous. How fast they grow! You must be thrilled.
