Rodney Jenkins VHS... seriously?!

I just got a copy of the GM 3-day DVD and have been wallowing in its goodness… I did a search on here to see other people’s experiences. I came across listings that said the Rodney Jenkins Selecting H/J VHS goes for high on eBay… saw the links and I’m

I got that video as a Christmas present in about 6th or 7th grade! Haven’t watched it in years. I think I have it around here somewhere…

But seriously, people are spending that much for the VHS?! It’s that good?  Now I don’t know to keep it or sell it (I’m a poor grad student!)

Let me know if you are going to sell it, because I really would like to get my hands on that tape. I watched a copy of a friend’s years ago and still remember how great it was. OH and is it on there now? I cant seem to find it…if it is…please post a link!

I have that tape as well! It is great. I got mine years a go when a tack shop was selling out. How much is it going for on Ebay? Will I be able to fund my kid’s college education from it???

I know Rodney personally, he now trains racehorses, it’s funny that most people at the track do NOT know what he did in his “previous” life…he gave a tape to one of his excersise riders and the guy was in awe…I was going to borrow it and never did, wonder if it’s the same one, or a personal tape?

I think I would consider killing people to get my hands on one of those tapes…

Great Training Material

We’ve used this tape for training our Pony Clubbers about conformation.
It’s a great tool.

I have one too. I had no idea it was such a hot item! LOL…might have to sell mine. How much are they going for on Ebay?

When I was horse shopping several years ago after not having owned a horse for many years I dug that tape out. Very helpful!

The older post about videos had two links to eBay. One auction ended at $70 something, the other ended at $90 something. These were used, in OK condition VHS’s. Then of course there are two, used ones on amazon… for over 250 each!

I haven’t watched this video on yeeeears. I remember liking it as a 14 year old, but darned if I remember much! I found my copy last night and dusted it off. I really hope it still works! :crosses fingers:

Suddenly this tape just got alot more valuable!

2 used on Amazon starting from $279? Holy crap!!

I didn’t realize he was a race trainer now…what is it with these BNR/BNT’s heading to the racetrack? Not that it’s a bad thing, just an interesting phenom

speaking of videos,

What ever happened to all the videos that used to be for sale of various competitions, and training viddies as well? I realize that a lot of people have moved on to dvds but not everyone. I have one foot in each camp, but in looking for some old videos, can’t seem to find them, even on half.com [the flip side of e-bay.] I have no patience for e-bay. Any suggestions?

When I performed a “house cleaning” years ago, I put a bunch of (horse-related) VHS tapes on ebay, and they all went for pretty decent money back then, totally unexpected. I can only imagine these days there’s more demand for them, as more people are on ebay and these items have become more rare.

I didn’t sell my copy of “Selecting Hunters & Jumpers”, because I really liked it and wanted to keep it. But I am kinda wishing I had held on to the few WEG tapes I sold.

It’s unfortunate that many of the great products, whether tapes or books, have been discontinued. Perhaps the producers of these items would consider releasing them again if they knew there are interests out there.

I got to view it for a Judging class taught here at SBC. Wow, what a goldmine. I too would love to have my own copy.

I wish it wasn’t against the law to make copies and sell them because I think I’d be in business! This is one of my favorite videos.

My thought exactly!

It’s really a shame that it’s no longer available, when so many could benefit from it – Rodney’s knowledge, the nice babies at Cismount, and last but not least, watching Olin on The Wizard in slow motion.

On a side note, it is AMAZING what people will spend on e-bay on the most random things. I thought I would sell my old, broken, without a harddrive laptop for about $20. Umm…it sold for $300!! The thing hadn’t worked in years…gotta love e-bay!

Stop! Stop! I can’t take it!

Rodney’s been around the track now for about 15 yrs (stabled in Maryland)… I remember seeing him at the local TB sales, he was still training at the farm back then… and thinking “no way, it couldnt be”… and it was!

Micheal Matz is there, along with Tim Ritchey (from the land of Eventing)…

There are quite a few big names around… I guess they needed the challenge…LOL

OK, those of you who have the thing, you need to tell us who produced it so we can contact the producers and petition them to re-release it.
