Sad News About Ukele - sold Equine Products to Smartpak

Okay, just got in.
Suddenly my account with them is disabled. Was going to purchase one more time. If
Smartpak has something similar, then it will be discontinued. We still will have the ordering issues with Smartpak.

I don’t trust them after they were super sketchy about their vitamin E issues.

I like how my horses were on their joint supplement. Will order again then the search continues. Sigh.

Well that stinks. I’ve been ordering some things through Chewy and Big Dees. Smartpak has been nothing but trouble

Have you looked at Horse Tech? That’s were I go for poly copper & zinc.

Is the Smartpak thing just for Uckele products? Honestly I can’t get Smartpak to stop shipping my supplements too quickly. I always end up with extra days.

In my case I had auto shipping. They charged my card 2-3 weeks before shipping. Since it was autoship, they should have had my product ready to ship, charge my card, then ship. I don’t like anyone holding onto my money for that long, especially when the order was set up well in advance.

I’ll take a look. The name sounds familiar. But I don’t remember their products offhand.

California Trace and HorseTech.

copper is copper, zinc is zinc. But I get it. I use HorseTech, because free Famous Amos cookies, why not! And they are basically the same price as CT, both of which are cheaper than Uckele, and without the kelp that Uckele adds

I’m confused. I haven’t updated my spreadsheet for a while, but last time I priced copper and zinc, this is what I got:

  • Uckele pellets (1 scoop copper for 310 mg, 1.5 scoop zinc for 1005 mg): $14/mo
  • CT pellets (4 oz for 300 mg copper & 700 mg zinc): $54/mo!

My horse will not eat powder—maybe that’s what you’re saying is cheaper? The Uckele powder is pretty darn cheap though. I also tried Hay Harmony and CEN, both of which he hated too. And I think HorseTech is powder. I really haven’t found pellets to beat Uckele for price and palatability. Sigh.

Ugh, I guess this means Uckele won’t be available to order for any other brick-and-mortar shops anymore, either.

California Trace sells bulk minerals as well as their v/m supplement.

They are powder though.

Well crap, I use uckele tri amino, here hoping that stays around… And affordable, because the other options are quite precious in pricing

Oh, darn, what about Cocosoya?

This may give some ideas for manufacturers;

Sorry if the answer to my question is obvious, but… this means we’re only going to be able to purchase Uckele products from SmartPak (and possibly not at all, if they consider them redundant to their product line)? I just purchased Uckele Mare Ease from KV Suppy like I always do with no issue, but wondering if that’s going to change.

I just ordered my EquiVM from Uckele, got a shipping notice yesterday. Geez I really hope they don’t turn everything over to SP. That would really stink.

I’m on the pellets too. I’ve not found any other product with the bang-for-the-buck as Uckele.

Ugh, in the same boat WRT my mare not eating the powdered Copper and Zinc! I’ve been using the Uckele pelleted form for six years now :weary:
