Are you in touch with her? Do you know if someone is staying with her? I just hope she’s not alone during this, whatever she may or may not have done.
An ugly farm doesn’t equal abuse. I’m not sure of Maine laws, but inadequate fencing here doesn’t warrant abuse charges. Unpopular breeding practices don’t warrant abuse charges. Remember, this country has no regulation on breeding.
So many here are distracted by her property and breeding mistakes. Those things are irrelevant, although I agree that often a run down property may mean the owner neglects other things. In this case, the horses themselves sure didn’t look dehydrated or unfed. Heck, there are horses down here that go to shows, events and foxhunting every weekend who’re thinner than PP’s bay horse. The rest of the pictures didn’t show a single rib. A poor coat also isn’t enough for a seizure. The grey cat pictured looked absolutely fine. Not obese, but a correct weight.
There is NO way those horses had no water for nearly two weeks. No way. They wouldn’t be alive, never mind fighting some overstuffed hick trying to hustle them onto a trailer.
Does PP have the right to have a good equine vet inspect those horses?
