Mod1 - thank you thank you!
Bless you Mod 1. Well for what it is worth, I am going to follow this thread but post no more. Instead, I am going to get off my darn butt and attempt to help PP from afar.
A phone call or two, a kind word, a shoulder to cry on. I dont know butâŠto do nothing makes me feel horrible.
I remember when one of our lovely posters lost both of her horses in a vehicle accident. What a heartbreak. And this, not much different I am afraid.
I think the 72 hour law about feeding strays and they become yours law is done to address the problems of hoarders or negligent owners in places (on Detroit Animal Cops and Miami also) where the person has to admit they are the owner even of neglected or abused animals that are on their property and obviously theirs.
That wonât be a problem. They are very healthy looking wild kitties. The only thing skinny on the property is my lab that turns her nose up at Innova EVO 6 star food. I had to dump milk or bacon grease on it to get her to eat all $70 bucks worth.
She happily tries to convince anyone showing up on the property to throw the ball for her 8-12 hours per day though.
<she is currently woofing down Fromm Pork and Applesauce - knock on wood>
AC will now have to go there and take her old dog who was boarded, they will have to take her kitties.
For lack of funds, lack of knowledge and because you can bet a lot of money went into this, PP will likely not get her friends back.
If she doesnât get her dog & kitties back, that would be very unfair. The dog was boarded whilst she was gone, so there should be no reason for her not to get her dog back.
Youâd think sheâd be given a chance to get her animals back if she complies with xyz they come up with, and if not animals get placed.
Hmmm, I donât know anymore.
If what you are pointing out snkstacres, -that sheâs isnât even getting to work at present and the consequences this may have-, then this whole seizure has gone too far. That there are issues with her horsecare, okay must be addressed accordingly, but donât take her entire life with it.
Agreed. The topic has been well and truly flogged, and to what purpose?
snkstsacres, I emaile PP and want to help too. My email is ncsporthorse@yadtel.net if you figure out how we can help. I am in NC though. I faced losing my animals through my illness and I wouldnât wish that on anybody.

Yes, THAT was the link I was after.
That âupdateâ where the newscaster announced that the neighbours believed PP had left the State and they showed video from earlier in the week NEGLECTED to mention that PP had already been HOME FOR TWO DAYS at that point.
Thereâs some non-partisan, up to date reporting for you.
NJR
Okaaaaay, so when AC and the news crews visited the farm and found the 6 horses in the small, manure filled round pens with no waterâŠit was because the neighbors put them there??? So they may have been in the larger paddocks with the 2 round bales and plenty of water before the prison break an being penned up by neighbors?
And what on earth does âcrashing the pen all nightâ mean? Huh???
Question
I know my question got lost, but is PP ok?
HAs anyone actually talked to her.
What a horrible mess. Animal control messes up like that? Go deal with the thousands of starved beaten abused neglected animals. Heres hoping she is OK and that this mess goes away. So sorryâŠ:no:
Well, with that kind of IQ providing the facts of the situation, I would seriously wonder how accurate the AC folks were.
Look for chinks in the armor
Well ,finally some responses to help pp get her life back. As I said 800 posts back, itâs time to help in any way possible. Itâs so easy for these things to swirl out of control when one is living on the brink financially.
If anyone is in touch w/ PP or is organizing some help. PLEASE let us know how we can help. I think more COTH members would pitch in. Itâs time.

Ok, I guess I am ready to be flamed also, but I seem to discern a big picture here, bigger than what just transpired, that brings several questions to mind, in so many ways.
I think that all sides here are right in some way, although some will be eventually found far fetched, if we ever find more true details, not just speculation.
My overall picture I guess is also one of them, I donât have any idea, other than trying to put together what we have heard.
We know this was a poster that for several years was on some horse forums, with a silver tongue.
A poster that everyone liked and felt sorry for all her misshaps and tribulations.
I have the feeling that many posters on several forums were here and there supporting her, when she posted about her needs, with money âdribblesâ and goods and services and doing business with her, for what I have read, but of course canât say.
There is that one poster that mentioned the 123.4 PMs it got from people that had dealings with this poster in question that were less than satisfactory, so that is again, if clearly third party hearsay, something to consider in this big picture.
Whatâs up with that .4, anyway?
I know that some posters as this one in question, when I read what they post, even when they donât come outright asking, I want to feel good about myself and give them something to tide them over or make their dreams possible, as someone did about her trip to the WEG and others may have done many times before, in several forums, who knows how many other times, about a blanket, saddle, a horse to improve her breeding, whatever, that was provided for her just because âshe is so nice and I can do without this or that she tells us she needsâ.
So, now this mess happens, that may or not be the fault of the poster, that may be really someone in AC and some vengeful idiot neighborâs problems.
Then, maybe just was also partly because of being neglectful by this poster.
Right now, that is for the courts to decide.
Now, this big picture of this poster doesnât mean she was mooching off forum sites, if it happened, not with intent, but may just have been a nice result of her silver tongue and overall nice way she comes thru.
I donât know it did happen like that, but that is what the facts seems to be pointing to.
I also have liked this poster, too much at times, when I found myself wanting to help and, knowing I tend to do that with little reason, stopping to think this thru and before had come to the conclusion maybe this was not a place for my help, before this happened and didnât help, as with her WEG trip.
There is no law against people coming across as very nice on forums, or others wanting to and go ahead and helping those very nice posters when they post about their needs.
The world goes 'round by people helping others and why not?
BUT, I think that for those too apt to give so quickly, they should at least stop and think a little bit, study the situation and be sure they are not enabling someoneâs life style that they, had they really known, may not think is up to their standards.
No, we should not judge others by our standards, as some keep saying, but there are some minimum standards that everyone really is beholden to, like not letting animals roam that may cause accidents, etc.
Not saying this posterâs life was not up to minimum standards, I donât know, a judge will decide.
Everyone is free to help whoever they want, not necessarily extremely deserving people, that is not what helping is about, really.
I just say, be a little more discerning, because some times, some help will compound a situation, not really help it.
Maybe all those years people were helping enable that situation, the poster felt that, as long as it could keep going as it was, why change it?
I hope once this current problem is resolved, hopefully it was all a misunderstanding, people will get back to their lives, horses will be cared for to a sensible minimum standard and all will be a little wiser.
I am sure I missed much in that picture, but this little bit I do think may be as I think, understanding that I may be completely wrong.
Now, do you want to help a poster in need, this poster in this time of obvious need?
That is for everyone to decide on their own, big picture in mind, little picture in mind and without any other picture in mind too.
Obviously, help seems to be needed, which kind of help, I donât know.
Edited to add that the one poster cyberstalking this poster, shame on you.:dead:
That is beyond creepy and just adds to the confusion.
I have to believe that ACO of maine are doing things by the book. However, I have also seen many situations where starved horses were not addressed by a past NH state vet. They use to be his clients and he seemed reluctant to believe they would starve their horse.
If PP wants to get her horses back, she can. Maine and Dedham donât want to pay for their upkeep, and I think they have enough horses needing rehoming.
So, for some of you there seem to be missing pieces, I agree, but I think we come down on different sides of the fence.
I have worked in Humane Assnâs and also closely with the state vet via horse council. I have to believe Maine is not that much different.
there are rules and requirements.
Letâs say it was a vendetta, do you think once a lawyer got ahold of this that they would not be seeking justice and law for their client(PP)?
I can see how this can happen to anyone, but once you get a lawyer into the mix, no public official wants to be found abusing their powerâŠif they did, PP is going to be a very rich woman.
I totally agree with puzzling pieces in thisâŠthere always are in any kind of civil or criminal case. At this point, its all a matter of us using what we have read, seen and our own common sense, experience and knowledge that helps put pieces together.
Which really amount to a hill of beans until the final verdict, but then I am sure people will be screaming about that too.
PP-I send hugs and prayers your way.
Maine has seized the animalsâŠgetting them back will take an Act Of God. I can only hope She hears the prayers of those who see this as unjust and corrects it. Maine animal justice is flighty and unevenâŠdepending on the whims of those in charge and what political winds are blowing. PP is poor, her life and property clearly offend her neighbors- who see no wrong in publically lying to get their way, and the animals are gone. The damage has been done MOST publically. Her name and reputation have been covered in neighborshit, and no amount of cleaning that up will ever give her back her former life. Does anyone believe IF she got her animals back the neighbors would play fair? No? well neither do IâŠthey have had a taste of blood, and 15 minutes of fame.
PP-when all is done-sell the place to a chapter of Hellâs Angels or Iron Horsemen-and let the neighbors deal with the noise and traffic of a hundred Harleys every day and night. KarmsâŠKarmaâŠKarmaâŠ

Iâve gotten a couple emails from her. Sheâs doing as well as anyone could expect⊠putting one foot in front of the other.

I believe AppJumpr08 is in touch with her. She and her husband have kindly offered to spearhead efforts to help. You can PM her.
Actually I would like to see her sue the socks off the local AC, the media and the neighbors
>We removed the recent inappropriate posts by horselips (and responses that quoted them), and banned her, and a couple of apparent alter accounts, one of which ironically was the OP on several of the threads on this topic.
Thank,
Mod 1
Wow. This bears repeating. Just wow. Thank you, Mod 1.

Being poor has NOTHING to do with her animal husbandry. I have seen poor people take better care and have pride in what they do have, and in what little they have amassed than PP. SHE let things get this way, SHE chose to let things pile up and have a crappy looking place, poor fencing, things lying all willy nilly, and each and every day SHE chooses to let it go and make excuse after excuse after excuse.
How hard is it to get up and set aside an hour a day or a weekend to pick up the bags, litter, trash, etc. so things look a bit more tidy? How hard is it to grab a brush on the way out to fill water troughs or throw hay and give each horse a once over? Oh but thatâs right, she has a crippling disease and canât do that. But she can go off to ride someone elses horse, which takes balance, skill, muscle coordination and time.
She need to take some personal responsibility for the situation she has gotten herself into. I am so very sick of everyone else being blamed but poor mistreated, misused PP!!

Yes, people have spoken with her and are working to help her but it is very hard to know what is ok to post and what is better left unsaid at this time. I hope that is not overly cryptic for some of you - I have not spoken with her personally, but am in contact with some that have. Some of us have been PMing each other for sometime about this. Most of us do not live close by, so we are reliant on the help of those that are - and THANK YOU!!! to those that are close by and helping!!!
