Sad situations that are going to be happening too much...
PP is poor, her life and property clearly offend her neighbors- who see no wrong in publically lying to get their way, and the animals are gone. The damage has been done MOST publically. Her name and reputation have been covered in neighborshit, and no amount of cleaning that up will ever give her back her former life. Does anyone believe IF she got her animals back the neighbors would play fair? No? well neither do I…they have had a taste of blood, and 15 minutes of fame.
No matter how many times I watch the video, I see no indication of that from the neighbors. Yes, they talk about the horses wearing a path to their garden but that’s a nuisance and safety hazard. Can you point me to where they are focusing on the place being eyesore more than the care of the horses? And, please, not something that I’m supposed to read between the lines on for the real motivation.

This thread makes my head spin with all the supposition. Geez. You can support PP without fabricating things about the neighbors. Isn’t that what you’re accusing them of so wrongfully doing?

I do not think it is really anyone’s responsibility to spoon-feed you the very obvious holes in this story. You should read this thread like the rest of us have, and it will become very clear why many of us are questioning the motives of the neighbors. If you do not see it for yourself, nobody will be able to convince you, and it will serve only to waste more bandwidth.

I am not trying to be rude, and I apologize if I come of as such. I have no interest in convincing people of anything at this point. I know what I have read, observed and have been told by those close to the situation. I formed my opinion based on that information.

I did read the thread and I see a lot of holes on both sides. I guess I’ll just stick to the facts to form my opinion and try to avoid being spoon fed anything until the whole truth comes out.

snkstsacres, I emaile PP and want to help too. My email is ncsporthorse@yadtel.net if you figure out how we can help. I am in NC though. I faced losing my animals through my illness and I wouldn’t wish that on anybody.

Yes ma’am! A few pages back, I asked what COTHers would do if Pintopiaffe were found to be without fault. So now it’s time to put up or shut up.

I’m on the East Coast and I’d be happy to lend a hand, some time, my truck and trailer, whatever. This isn’t because I know whether Pintopiaffe is a great person or not, but because I don’t think she has been treated fairly here. Speaking for no one but myself, I can’t see what good COTH is if it’s all just talk and idle speculation with no offer to help, admit fault or be fair.

I’ll PM Pintopiaffe, but if other COTHers are into this effort you all can PM me as well.

PP is a really good writer.

Perhaps a book could come from this. I do hope she is keeping a journal.

IMO, this is all about a single issue, at this time. Did she arrange for someone to check on the horses at least daily? or not? If she did, did they do their job, and AC and neighbors not being honest about findings (water), or not?

Nothing else matters before even thinking about if PP is deserving of help to fix other problems.

I wonder, why did she post here yesterday with an alter and why in such a way it had to be deleted?

For me, that doesn’t make sense with the image this poster has on this forum, just adds to the questions.

Imagine how different this whole story would be if the neighbors had spent a couple of hours and helped her fix her fencing or maybe helped her when she was struggling instead of calling AC?

PP is not horselips or any other alter.

Oh no no no, that is not how I understood Mod 1’s message! Oh jeez. The “OP” of some of these messages ABOUT “PP” is either Eli (but I don’t think so) or SayItAin’tSo (that would be my guess) or FrenchFrytheEqHorse (again, not my guess). Mod1 did not say it was the SUBJECT of these threads, or PP. S/he said it was the OP, original poster.

I would not know, but the Moderator’s post seemed to imply one of those she had to delete was from this poster in question herself?
That is what I was referring to being one more strange happening in this mess.

But see the same people who would flame animal control for not seizing someone else’s horses found without water are defending someone who has a previous conviction! Gotta think that people just like to argue. She’s done it before, been convicted and now has done it again. Thanks Lisa for trying to help the horses out all these years.
We have no idea what she was actually convicted of. There are a lot of things under the “Cruelty” umbrella. SOmeone I know was “convicted” of cruelty, simply because it was easier & cheaper to take it and pay the fine than it was to argue that her ancient horse on all kinds of meds and supplements was not in fact starving to death. Well, let me actually tell you the end of that story. Her horse died in the care of animal control because he was not getting his proper diet. THAT was when she gave up, took the conviction and paid the fine. No more reason to fight - they had already killed her horse. So before leaping on that “but she was CONVICTED” bandwagon, you might want to check the wheels to make sure they aren’t flat.

Just wanted to clarify, there was NO IP link between the now-banned horselips account and PP’s account.

There was a link between horselips and sayitaintso!, the username that was used to start several of the threads that were merged into this one.

Sorry if my earlier post was unclear!

Now THAT makes much more sense, for several reasons I will quit guessing further.
Believing this poster we are talking about had come with an alter and guns ablazing so it had to be deleted is what prompted my even getting back into this.
Guess I should have kept my peace, no one really knows much, or are not saying.

For the record, I have not posted on this thread (or in regards to PP) under an alter of any kind. I have one alter on this board that I made in reference to a personal situation a few months ago. I haven’t chimed in on this thread any more as I can see it’s clear that my input is not welcome. I also haven’t been contacted by Mod1 in regards to any of the posts I’ve made on this board, ever.

Carry on.

:eek::eek::eek::yes:

“Something’s Wrong At the Ponderosa !”

Alarming thread to read  = I have not kept up lately.
Jingles this situation is “righted” soon in the best way for the animals and humans ~
This thread is like the “energizer bunny” just keeps going and going and going >>>>>

Maybe they are struggling with their own financial or health issues, too, or maybe they offered and she didn’t see the need because things are fine. Perhaps, even, they have helped in the past and nothing changes once they stop.

I spent a year of my life trying to get a group of 10 horses between the ages of 1 and 5 marketable for something and they were never touched again once I left. Owners didn’t see the value in performance (or regular foot trimming, leading, being able to walk into the barn aisle without freaking out, etc.) over bloodlines so they were just going to keep pumping them out and wait for the right buyer to come along and fall in love. The only long term benefit from my time was that I convinced them not to breed that year. Other than the complete lack of handling from weaning on, they were mostly safe and well taken care of, though.

I love guinea pigs, too. I need another two, my one just died, sad, and they need alwasy to be two, for company to each other. Used to breed them and sell them to the pet store when I was a kid. I thought mine were superior because I never inbred them and they had really big eyes, rimmed in black, not pink, and I thought they were really quality pigs. Only just the other day, my brother told me, yeah, they paid you for them because they were feeding them to the snakes! I cried and cried - just the other day. I never thought that, I always though some little girl was falling in love with them and bringing them home and giving them a really good name, like Ginger or Mr. Wheeks.

Anywho, I just wanted to give you my sympathy, Crzy Ldy, because such basic handling is so important to ensure a young horse a quality life, and to put the energy and time into it and not have the owners follow up is frustrating. I know another poster here who gets youngsters to train, and does, but its heartbreaking to send them back to the owners who not only don’t follow up, but allow the horses to fall right back into the dangerous habits they instilled in them to begin with. She was thinking the best way to train horses might be to train the owners!

Okay, so color me confused. What exactly was AC supposed to do? If these horses were found without water and there was no apparent way to water them (no electricity, no water pump)? How were the neighbors supposed to water them? How were they supposed to proceed if they had no way to contact PP or know how long she would be gone?

Would you have all been happier for PP to come home to horses dead of dehydration or complications from colic due to the same?

If PP had been home, I don’t think anyone would have seized her horses. But she left for two weeks - and because of that it seems a situation was able to develop in which there were few choices left for those who were there to deal with it. Complain all you want, but the animals are likely safer seized than without water.

The bottom line is that as horse owners we are always responsible in the end for the welfare of the horses. All of us who have made a commitment to owning them are ultimately resonsible for their care. And no matter your situation the buck always stops with the owner. Period.

I hope it works out for all the animals. I reserve judgment on all the people involved.
