SafeSport Training - Has anyone completed the course and had it register on their USEF Account?

Can someone share a successful story of completing the SafeSport Online Training for USEF?

I’m getting a little frustrated trying to take the mandatory SafeSport Online Training required by USEF. Navigation is sending me in circles.

I logged into USEF.org. Found the SafeSport icon and clicked on it. Got the instructions to register on the SafeSport.org site. Completed that successfully (called them to verify). There are instructions on SafeSport to enter the online training through your organization’s webpage. When I go back to USEF’s site and click on the SafeSport icon to start the training, I get another message from USEF that I need to register with SafeSport!! I closed the browsers, started new sessions. Nothing works.

Has anyone completed the training yet? If you complete the training, is the training certification automatically being applied to your USEF account?

I recommend anyone competing in recognized USDF shows in 2019 to get started on this right away! The course takes 90 minutes but I have a feeling it may take days to actually be able to access the training!

I apologize in advance if this topic has already been posted. I searched and couldn’t find a topic.

Lol no all the threads on here I’ve seen were just saying that people shouldn’t complain because it’s only an hour, and it won’t even cost USEF anything (I guess the people supporting the call line, managing the website etc. must all be unpaid volunteers)

I just checked and mine is said to be completed and good for 2019 so I guess it was a success. I do know it took a day or two to come up as complete on my usef account.

I took mine. Total time was about an hour and a half. Honestly I have no idea if it came up on my USEF membership, but I did link through USEF to take it. I live in the upper Midwest and I have high speed internet. I would hate to take it on slow speeds. Glad you brought this up though because I do want to make sure it shows up on my membership.

Yes. As a licensed official, this is my third time. After resetting my password, the whole thing took me 2 1/2 hours. Granted, I was also doing laundry at the time. Plus, in addition to the three modules, I had to do a fourth one that was called a refresher. Not sure what that was about, but it would not register as completed until I did it.
I clicked on the link and did the whole thing through safesport - at the beginning they ask you your organization so that is where it links to usef.
Personally, I think if you get 100% on the pretest, you should not be required to do the rest of the module.
You cant skip ahead because all the videos have to play.

Thanks for the quick replies! I’m trying to take it through the USEF site because the SafeSport site is asking for $20. I’ll try to take the training tomorrow.

After clicking on the link in my email I was told my email wasn’t on file. I will try again later.

Yep, I took it and it shows up as “completed” on my USEF portal. I took it over 2 or 3 days and didn’t have any problems with starting and stopping. Only a little struggle on the second day trying to find how to get back to it!

I took it when they first said we had to, and it showed up either later that day or the next morning. Still shows as completed.

I think I took it through the USEF website. It appeared as completed later that day or the next day.

I had a little problem getting started and emailed the Safe Sport contact email and they responded very quickly and on a weekend.

Once started, finishing was pretty simple and my USEF account shows that I completed the training.

It was seamless for me. I logged in, clicked through, took the training over a couple of days, on different computers, and it shows that I’m current through Sept 2019. It does make me wonder how they intend to enforce the due date prior to membership renewal, will they expect show managers to verify that?

Mine does show up (apparently with an expected refresher next summer… sigh.)

I took it, and don’t remember how long it took (I was watching TV). It showed up the next day on the website. I think the key is a fast internet connection.

I finished the last module this morning, and checking just now, it show as complete under my USEF profile.

I took it in early september because I was an L candidate and had to take it for that. I just checked the USEF site, and it does have me recorded as taking it — but mine expires 9/3/2019. So apparently I will need to take it again in the fall if I want to show in championships (even though it will last for 2 years for my L certification, apparently it only lasts for one year for USEF).

There is some talk of having it only happen when membership renews - we’ll see

I was able to complete the training very easily with a high speed internet connection, but it hasn’t registered yet that it took the training. I did it early this morning, so there probably are certain times when SafeSport sends the updates back to the parent organization or something. If it doesn’t show up by next week I’ll contact them.

Finishing up my last module. It’s been an hour or so.

I just finished as well. Today when I logged in, access to the training was seamless. Next question, do we need to allow USEF to conduct a background check? Is that just for officials or all adult competitors? Thanks for being so helpful!!!
