It was stated that she charged the gate twice & hit her head just before/as they opened.
She has an injury to her tongue that sounded relatively serious. Jingles for that lovely filly!
Link?
A fluffernutter! What a cutie.
About halfway down.
Thanks. That does sound serious as it will “impact her feeding.”
Before the race, it was mentioned Clariere had issues in the paddock and the pre PP behavior was referred to again as they galloped out and her uncharacteristically poor performance noted. No idea if was unusual for her or not and they only mention paddock manners briefly without details. Might have been upset before gate loading? Hope she recovers, like to see the good mares get to race for awhile.
I thought Rich Strike really ran admirably. He didn’t break well at all and perhaps if he was a little more forwardly placed; he could’ve got up for 2nd or third. But 4th by a nose to both 2nd and 3rd place finishers; very respectable. I think he needs a jock change but I also think his best days will be as a 4 year old
I do have to say; why the F was the Saratoga track watered to the point of mud for the Travers; more like everyday! It seems to be the new norm for Saratoga. It looked like there was a torrential downpour on the track 20 min before post time but no, just the water truck. Unless your the front runner on the track; you’re coming back looking like you just ran a tough-mudder competition.
Moving earlier would require going thru Cyberknife stuck to the rail and starting to drop back, had to go outside around again and wasted some ground but rallied well out towards the middle the track, something they were schooling. Good thing he went around as Cyberknife hung tough for a gutsy second. Surprised RS came on so strong and hooked up. All three of those ran really good races.

Filghtline runs in the Pacific Classic this evening. I’ll have to watch the replay. Can’t find a way to watch online. Should be a good race.
Well Irad Ortiz on Virginia Joy schooled Rosario on War Like Goddess in the Flower Bowl. Got away with half in 53, six furlongs in 1:19, mile in 1:45. War Like Goddess was running against a fresh horse. Where was Rosario’s head?
For others that can’t watch live, here is the Del Mar race replay page;https://www.dmtc.com/racing/race-replays/2022/9/3
And apparently Bill Mott was not pleased with Rosario’s ride at all.
Wow, Flightline gave me goosebumps!
I’ve not seen the replay. Did he beat them all by lengths, like he did in his previous races? His stride is so beautiful.
Maybe by 15 or 20? Missed track record by about a couple hundredths of a second, almost pulled up last couple of hundred yards.
Yay!!! I am so looking forward to seeing the race.
Did he come out looking sound?
They mostly all come back looking sound as they are so hyped on adrenaline. He looked fine though.
Thanks! That’s why I wrote “looking”. I know he’s had problems and I was hoping there was nothing obvious to be seen.
